I've never heard anybody try to sell something by starting so many times with "I admit..." like some sort of disclaimer, but in the Ken Ham vs Bill Nye debate we hear at least 5 such concessions from Mr Ham, who is a former high school teacher who moved to the USA to find a paying audience (hey if Westboro Baptist Church can get an audience...) for his beliefs that the Earth is only 6000 years old and that modern science has it all wrong and isnt as good as that of writings from 2000 years ago, where he has extracted tens of millions from believing Americans to fund his theme park. As a fellow Australian I am extremely embarrassed - I apologise to the good people of America for what he is doing there, and I commend Bill Nye for remaining a true gentleman throughout the debate. Although this clip is short i took nothing out of context, and I encourage you to watch the full debate at • Video although Ken Ham spends half of the debate simply telling you to go to his $$$website$$$, because of course no other websites on the internet tell the truth about these things, and as he provides no points of accepted scientific credibility he has to fill in time somehow - might as well sell some merch.
Creationism has made me feel awkward like never before. I don't care if your hair is pink or blonde, if your skin is black or white, if you're religious or not, if you're gay or straight, but Creationism flies in the face of science like nothing else, and if you dare to challenge it - "no Ken, the Earth isn't 6000 years old, we have scientific evidence proving it is billions of years old", then they simply call you "religiously intolerant". A simple scientific fact can't be used against them for no reason other than "that goes against what God says". Are we really living in 2015!?!?!?!?!?
