The creatures of the Mist were essentially entities from an alternative reality that travelled to earth via an interdimensional rift created by a military scientific-endeavour called the "Arrowhead Project".

One of the most terrifying but beautiful of stories, with every creature having its own mannerisms and each more deadly then the last, and with the right amount left vague for the imagination to fill in(are these young or old, how would they change in reaction to being on earth(if they would)), as well as how humanity would have to change(now knowing of such a grand threat), always reminded me of Lovecraft

It still shares a lot of lovecraftian aspects. The fear of the unknown. The grey widowers were definitely intelligent and very much malicious and evil. It is hinted that these monstrous abominations are from the toad h dark, the place between spaces in Stephen Kings universe. This is also where Pennywise the clown comes from. This is what gave the story and movie it’s lovecraftian feel. Oh, and the fact that the door to this dimension was opened by us. Messing with powers and things we have no idea or comprehension of how to control or contain.

@AnimeShinigami13
@AnimeShinigami13 4 года назад
Can't wait to see him dive into Attack on Titan. I started to see the whole "The titans are us" plot twist coming when Eren turned into a titan for the first time. Did NOT see the whole Nazi genocide twist coming in the manga. And I was very glad that in the end Reiner and Bertholt were shown to be just as scared of their government as Eren, Mikasa and Armin were of theirs. In the end though, Zeke did the worst possible thing for retaining the loyalty of his attacking Titan shifters. He allowed them to humanize their targets in their mind. And its beautiful in a sad way that this is what eventually became Reiner's undoing. In the end, you can't hate either boy for what they'd done, even though their actions killed thousands of people. And you can't blame Eren for his rage either. I just hoped they'd change the anime plot and let Ymir stay. Figures they'd make it so that the one gay couple in the story is separated traumatically.

So a couple of things to note: In the last video describing the movie I noticed that the Military came by and either killed or burnt the monster and helped clear up the mists. This was an amazing detail. Why? I've always hated the notion that just because something is not from earth that they are immune to our weapons and technology. I love in this move how even though these things are increasingly scary and dangerous as hell they still have to follow the same rules or life and evolution that our own dimension does. Example: The spider was shot and immediately killed because as scary as it was the flesh was just as fragile as ours. The flies when they bit a human it cause our bodies to react to whatever was in the flies saliva or whatever it was to react and kill us as its likely so foreign that our immune system have no chance of fighting it. These were also easily killed as well, and they were attracted to the light as well. The Biology of the dinosaur looking bird was also apparent because it could easily see through or at least used some time of eco location to easy catch one of the super flies and eat it. The Legs were also designed similar to be able to grab there prey and kill while being able to land and walk around if necessary. The Wings were an evolutionary advantage as the creature could fly more easily throughout the air with no issue's. The creature also had eyes that it used to see the people in the store and react to the light, not to mention a tongue. The Giant Creatures with Massive Legs I don't think would have been able to survive because Science tells us that if a creature is that large on our planet that it would likely collapse under its own weight which is why we never evolved to be so much larger. I mean even the biggest dinosaurs were nowhere near that large. Even those biggest dinosaurs had the hardest time moving because of their size and the amount of weight they had to carry. Basically what I am saying is that it looks like Evolution of DNA works similar in there dimension as it does ours. I really liked how this showed us the very primitive nature of man. Once we are faced with situations that we can't understand why we show how dangerous and selfish we can be?

The most interesting creature by far is the giant at the end. It's been nearly 20 years since I read the book but that line about no creature on earth ever being that big is one of the details that sticks with me. Even though the creature shows no malice unlike the others it is very cleverly used by Stephen king to show the reader how hopeless the situation is. He saying without saying, that humans have no place in a world where something like that lives. I don't think that the movie made a good interpretation of the creature. It would have been better had it not shown the entire thing as the book does not.

As someone who did not read the book but did watch the movie recently, I can say that the movie's behemoth DID have the intended effect for me. I immediately knew "Oh, shit. It gets *THIS* bad." When the lore dropped in the movie about a portal to another dimension, I was like "Oh shit. If this was just aliens, or escaped lab experiments, this would be fixable. This is no longer fixable." A beautifully timed reveal. But then, when you think "This cannot be fixed", your next thoughts drift to "Well, at the very least, maybe humanity can survive, and coexist." That's when the behemoth drops in and affirmatively shows "Oh, no, not at all. Wherever these things are coming from is a world that absolutely will annihilate us all." I think it handled it very well.

Most of the creatures resemble the ones Roland and his tet see during their ride on Blaine the mono while crossing the waste lands. Also, the larger creatures, like the behemoth, look like the ones that reside in the Prim. It would be interesting to find out from Stephen King if the portal opened by the Army’s Project Arrowhead led either to the wastelands or the Prim itself.

Niyat, I finally got that sci-fi thriller, Underwater on Blu Ray yesterday. I only watched the making of the film, and it's pretty impressive. I have this film on DVD and when I first saw it, the ending was a punch in the gut, like something out of The Twilight Zone.

She wasn't really evangelical. They even said it in the movie - she was too Old Testament. An Evangelical would have talked more about the New Testament and told people how this was a fulfillment of prophecy and the only escape would be to accept Jesus and repent. NOT BLOOD SACRIFICE.

Its funny how people try to defend the evangelical Karen. I went to church school like a lot of Americans. I didn't know Christianity/Catholicism wanted people to act like they knew everything about God and to anoint themselves as saviors. 🤷‍♂️ Religion is brainwashing if applied incorrectly

He should definetly read the Manga to have a more bigger understanding of the world of AoT cause you get to see way more interesting things that arnt in the anime yet. And undestand what's truly happening. It pretty much starts out like a zombie series like walking dead but with giant zombies instead of human sized ones. And believing the last of humanity is inside the giant fortified fortress with giant walls to protect the people. Only ti have the story flipped (SPOILERS) and find out the people were lied to and they are not the last of humanity. And that the Titan that surround them and are attacking them is less of an infestation and more like biological warfare, so less walking dead and more like resident evil. And they ate being attacked by the other nations that live out in the world outside. So it's no longer a story about humanities struggle to survive, but is now re ealed as a tale of war.

The thing is at 3:40 with the part about the neurotoxin causing suffocation, that technically isn't correct since as you said, it causes swelling and the woman that got stung got stung in the neck, so it's pretty clear the swelling was so bad that it was more than likely blocking up her wind pipe.

What I've learned: Always expect the unexpected Avoid the crazy crowd or at least pretend to be one of them if you are in the minority Avoid small towns which were former Millitary bases engaging in some cutting edge form of science which would open wormholes to hellish dimensions When the mist first appears; get you and your loved ones out of that hellscape... Please add more useful info as necessary. From the last Survivor...I think...pass it on to the next survivor....peace
