Nobody talks about how incredibly his voice is. A real true 90’s, 2000’s grunge alt rock embodied everything that this time period in music represented .
That's the musicianship and quality of song. The true test of a good song is to change it's genre and is it still good? And if it's a good song, the musicians and musicianship make it that different level shit
Something about Scott's voice in this just has power to it that didn't come through on the original album version. And the rest of the bad obviously have become better musicians over the years
I'm here and it's 2022 I'm 60 years old. And I've Loved this band ever since the beginning. I know the lead singer has personal issues that I'm not going to mention, but I wish him to get better and I truly wish and pray that they get back together and make more beautiful music. To me this song in acoustic touches part of my life and I thank them for that.

I believe Scott’s voice is truly God given because he was gifted it for his calling in life. I have seen so many people mention here on You Tube how his songs got them through depression and suicide. Absolutely amazing! Thank you Jesus.

actually he is bipolar and went paranoid back a few years ago. I heard him in an interview discuss it. He was going to drive to the White House. They were tremendously successful during the last phase when you could still make millions selling records, late 90's. I think it's the typical story, victims of their own success. Scott made a fool of himself getting intoxicated in public and taking himself so seriously. I was never a Creed fan but he has a strong voice and they had a few good tunes even a Satanist might hum.
I’m 51. Same. I was there when they first broke out. They were much bigger back then than you could imagine. Media doesn’t want to admit the hold they had on people for a while. Saw them in ATL when they were at their peak. Saw Scott Stapp in Macon Ga 2 years ago and spoke to him and his wife for 10 min. Just outside their tour bus. No one else around for a few min. They were so kind.

It's a shame y'all couldn't work it out. Creed, in my opinion, is one of the greatest bands of all time. Y'all helped me through a lot of the darkest parts of my life. Missing you guys, as those dark times haven't gone away.

Scott has f*cked his voice up. Has had to have surgery. Has put out an album since but will never be his old self. Great band and Trimonti is a beast. In Alter Bridge as well.
Creed would have done great had they been around today. Their music was phenomenal and Scott was undoubdtedly one of the best vocalist. Still hoping to see them together someday !

Man. This just broke me all the way down. Scott’s and marks voices are strong here and sound fantastic. Guitars sound great with the accompaniment from the second guitarist. This song is what got me into music at the age of 10. I’m 35 now and I still love this song because I always loved this band. Great job guys. Great job!!! My wish is to see them do this again one day. That would be the epitome of music in my life
Good music but they have a weird reputation of being a runner up to Nickelback for most hate. Fuck pop culture and Hollywood it's full of trash people, trash values / morality and has an agenda of brainwashing and social engineering. It's funny when these Hollywood degenerate's accept awards are get on their soapbox to self righteously grandstand. Sad how so many people get their moral code and parrot what they are told to think and believe from Hollywood media.
I hope rock fans realize now what they had in this band, two great songwriters, fantastic chemistry...elite guitarist. Hopefully they come back and reunite with a new album. Rock today is stretching itself...
I was blessed to have seen them back in, I believe, '96, at Floyd's Music Store in Tallahassee before they were big. They were playing small local joints. One song they played was My Own Prison. Lemme tell you, the crowd went absolutely insane. After the show, I met Scott and Mark (which was super easy back then). Seriously, these dudes were some of the coolest, most down to earth guys I'd ever met. Nice as could be. I asked Scott about the lyrics to the song... He responded: "Well, it's something very personal to me, something I wrote when I wasn't where I wanted to be in life, and those words describe just how I felt". I'll never forget it. Got an autographed copy of one of their demos, which had My Own Prison and Torn on it. Have it to this day, along with another demo from a band hardly known by anyone outside the N. Fl - S. Ga area called Core. Scott sounds wonderful! Brings me back to '97, but with some maturity. Mark sounds as good as ever, if not better. But wow, Scott sounds awesome! I wish like hell they'd make a comeback. I'm telling you, the Creed fanbase is there!

This is the first time I have been blessed to see this. I have always loved their music and his voice together. Truly amazing how these ordinary people can create such heart touching and Relevent Content and Performances. Not once, but multiple times in MY LIfe anyways. Now, this one....Now....PERFECT! Followed creed since school. 44 now & still loving them. Not actually heard this until 3 months ago. I will sing this song live at some pub one day in the future.
I was going thru some serious life decisions when this album and creed hit the air. I listened it it the words and the guitars over and over. I'm like wow what a band these guys are headed for something big. Well here I am back again and listen to it and its still works on me like it did then. Great music.

I remember seeing these guys at the Warfield in SF they were so good! What's a trip is a band call The Mayfield Four opened for them - that lead singer was Myles Kennedy.

Love this performance: Scott's voice really comes through (he's one of those you immediately know it's them singing with just one note), Mark's background vocals are great, and the rest of the band accompanies them well. 'My Own Prison' the album remains a big favorite of mine to this day, almost 20 years after its release. I was a big fan of them during their 90s heyday, so, admittedly, my opinion is biased, but I hate that Creed always got jokes made about them being a crappy band. They always rocked hard in concert (saw them about 5 times, if I recall correctly) and their songwriting was pretty good. Scott's off-stage 'stuff' tended to overshadow the music, which was rather unfair.
Creed helped show that grunge was still alive even when it was thought to be dying and be declining through post-grunge another reason why I love Creed

I am still pissed at Creed. I had bought two tickets for their 2001 concert. It was to be my niece's first concert. Well, I guess Scott decided it was important to drink and drive in Florida and get in a wreck.. The little bitch hurt his back, so the tour was cancelled. Fine. When I went to get my money refunded, they kept almost sixty dollars, saying it was non-refundable because of the store where I bought the damn tickets. Crazy.
Listening to the originally recording, and then this acoustic version 10 plus years after the original really shows how Mark’s vocals improved big time. And now in present day his vocals have only gotten better with his own 5 solo albums to boot and 7 records with Alter Bridge. My favorite guitarist and rock solid performance by Stapp, Flip, Brian, and Eric
