Hurray for A child that makes it through If there's any way Because the answer lies in you They're laid to rest Before they've known just what to do Their souls are lost Because they could never find What's this life for What's this life for What's this life for What's this life for I see your soul, it's kind of gray You see my heart, you look away You see my wrist, I know your pain I know your purpose on your plane Don't say a last prayer Because you could never find What's this life for What's this life for What's this life for What's this life for But they ain't here anymore Don't have to settle the score Cause we all live Under the reign of one king But they ain't here anymore, Don't have to settle no Goddamn score 'Cause we all live under the reign, I said, you know, of One king One king One king But they ain't here anymore, Don't have to settle no Goddamn score 'Cause we all live under the reign I said, you know, of One king One king One king
That song has accompanied through the passing of many friends, it´s on my computer since its inception, and every computer after it. I am no religious man, and that king is not my god, that king is Death and he rules with a cold hand. If we want to live, we have to earn that privilege, because death comes to us all, at our appointed time. And I do believe that Death as an entity wants us to live to the fullest of our abilities, to make experiences that transcend through space and time, and that we can take with us when our time comes. If we cut our lives short we betray that time, that trust, that benevolence. Every religion has their version of Karma, Paradise, and Grace, but each and every one of them knows Death as the ultimate gatekeeper.
@bob lake We don´t need a lord for having a biological expiration date. Cell renewal slows down and stops when you die. So... let the humans enjoy the value of the music and believe what they want!
The honest truth. A few years ago, I commented on the Dave Matthews song - Don't Drink the Water. I was saying that the song was about Satan (Dave had once said as much, but it's hard to impossible to find that quote again). Most think it's about Native Americans as Dave always says that "now," and the lyrics suggest such. But that's just the "surface narrative" in the song. Anyway, after posting a long and descriptive interpretation, I realized that my post was number 666. I kid you not. Keep in mind that it's probably no longer #666 as subsequent deleted posts will change the chronological number of previous posts. God bless you. Jesus Christ ALONE is the way and the truth and the life. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments".
