You are hilariously funny. I was rolling on the floor listening to your reaction because you and I know CCR's version of this song is absolutely over the top! I remember it from when I was in like 6th grade or so, and even have this song on one of their albums from back then. I hope CCR is still making money from their music this many years later.

From their cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" to "Sweet Hitchhiker", every one their tracks holds a memory for me. If you want perhaps the most purely distilled example of CCR, try "Bad Moon Rising".

@paulapumphrey7857
@paulapumphrey7857 Год назад
No it was originally sung by Marvin Gaye. Gladys Knight and the Pips livened it up and made it popular so Marvin re-released it. Gladys version is wonderful too.
@richdiddens4059
@richdiddens4059 8 месяцев назад
@@paulapumphrey7857 It was written for Gladys Knight but was first recorded by The Miracles but not released for 2 years in October '68. Then Marvin Gaye recorded it but it wasn't released until August '68. Finally Gladys Knight recorded it and it was released in late '67. Her version became the best selling Motown recording. Then 8 or 9 months later Marvin Gaye's version exceeded hers. The first recording was the third released, the third recording was the first released, and the second was the second. The CCR version was 1970. Convoluted, I know.

Love your reactions, keep them coming! You chose wisely in reacting to the long version of Grapevine. The difference between the short single cuts and the long album cuts for CCR songs are the amazing instrumental jams and I have always thought they are the best parts of their songs. I would like to suggest David Bowie and “Space Oddity.” This has numerous versions, an early 1969 video with a demo, the definitive version in the June 1969 album “David Bowies” that was reissued in 1972 as “David Bowie Space Oddity” with a new video, and a very different 1979 version. I recommend the one from June 1969. It’s the one all us fans love. There’s a great 2019 modern remix with a new video of clips of the older Bowie performing, but the music is from the June 1969 album. I think you’ll love it.

If you want an astonishing and mesmerizing long reaction, and people are doing it, do the whole side A of The Rush 2112 album, itself called 2112, and it is kind of a musical science fiction journey in six or seven chapters. It's astonishing on all levels and it's the whole side of an album. And if you get into it, the Standalone singles on side B of the album are all fantastic in their own right. This was really the album that blew them up after the record company was about to dump them for refusing to make radio friendly music.
