The legendary John Fogerty is the singer. He remains one of rock’s best and is one of the finest songwriters of the 20th Century. You can’t go wrong exploring the catalog of Creedence Clearwater Revival, they have as many top ten hits in their four years as any band together that small amount of time. Screamin’ Jay Hawkins set a high bar with this classic, however the CCR interpretation if a magnificent tribute that has stood the test of time like the Hawkins original!

CCR studio versions have a similar vibe to their live sets. “Proud Mary” in its original CCR version as written by Fogerty, “Born on the Bayou”, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”, “Bad Moon Rising”, “Travelin’ Band”, “Who’ll stop the Rain”, “Lookin’ Out My Back Door”, “Midnight Special”, “Lodi”, & “Fortunate Son” represent a cross-section of CCR hits, and are worth experiencing. Another fine reaction! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎶👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻

My favorite song by CCR is "Down on the Corner." One time my one-year-old daughter walks into the bedroom with just a diaper. She hears the song on radio, puts her hands in the air and starts dancing. Man that was so cool!

Most people don't realize that this song is a true spell. It's called sound-magic, is the use of frequency from the instruments and the vogals. One can feel physical effect, the trippy intense sound tosses you up, up, up, then brings you down and cuddles you like a baby, huuuuu, huuuuum... and almost puts you in trance, then awakes you and tosses you around. His voice with eco, accentuates the vogals. There, you got a spell, draws you in, gives goosebumps, never to be forgotten. This soud-magic was used widely in relegious ceremonies in ancient times and even today. The frequency resonates inside your body and creates a "memory".

Harri, yes, you are right, there are several videos of Screaming Jay Hawkins on stage doing this live with the coffin. They are great. The best one that I recommend would be the video, "Screamin' Jay Hawkins on Arsenio Hall with Emo Philips" And there's a hilarious part in there where he almost catches the piano on fire! Lol. Its funny as hell what he does and how the crowd and the band starts laughing.
