A few years ago I was in Anniston with my son shooting at the CMP range. I ran over to Creedmoor Sports to check them out but I didn't know at the time they didn't have a store front. They invited me in to take a tour and let me watch their loading machines run making 9mm and 223 ammo. They also showed me their test range where they had a Thompson Center Encore frame mounted to pressure test the loaded rounds. They were super nice and it was a great opportunity to see the operation.

I've lived within 30 minutes of Anniston my whole life. Frequented the Creedmoor storefront when they had one on Hwy 21, and have been to the one on Ft. McClellan several times. I've always been met by friendly folks, even when I've just been perusing. They never treated my pointless questions as such. Great folks and great products.

CREEDMOOR SPORTS IS FRUSTRATING, lately with my orders, forgetting to charge me tax delaying my order going out, sending out my order with missing parts. Web site won't let me add in stock items to cart and purchasing an item that was clearly in stock then later finding out it's back ordered a month out. I sure hope they get it together! Anyone else experience issues?

Gavin please note on your 2 videos of Credmoor that they do not have a storefront and do not take walk it's any longer. My family went on a vacation to the CMP range and while on our way we called to verify store hours and were told they do no longer have a store front or walk ins after watching your 2 videos the old one and the recent tour when you went to the CMP. This was not a bust just wasted a half day since we went early to go to the store the day before we planned going to the CMP range but would hate to see anyone make plans to specifically visit.

Just a suggestion, they should keep up with their online store saying in stock but its really out of stock. Tried to order $1,500 worth of parts and accessories this morning and it all said in stock but in the cart it says all has been sold. Was a little upset. Ordered straight from dillon and put them on backorder.

I think it's funny, all the haters of the 6.5 CM round. It's almost like someone is forcing them to buy a rifle chambered in it, or it replaced some other round. The same people people who are tired of hearing about the round seem to feel obligated to comment on it...funny. Makes me wonder if they also comment on every other product that isn't their favorite.
@talisikid1618
@talisikid1618 3 года назад
No. It’s just that we knew the 6.5x 55 & 260 were great rounds when the rest of you ignored them. Now you pretend this Johnny-come-lately round is somehow this best thing since sliced bread. It’s not.
@DeMilleDW
@DeMilleDW 3 года назад
@@talisikid1618 Not claiming it's the "best thing since sliced bread", but the 6.5 CM addressed some of the shortcomings of both of those rounds. Don't take my word for it, just read any one of a thousand articles comparing the three rounds. I'm not sure what you mean when you say we "ignored" those two rounds. Do you mean we wasted our time developing the 6.5 CM because those other rounds were good enough? People who compete at the highest levels don't do "good enough".

Been through Creedmoor several times over the years; they're very nice and will let people watch them taylor their custom jackets (made in house) and reload on their Camdex, test loads, etc. They even ran a few of my 308w hand loads back in the day in a proof barrel. Really great people running their business & working there. I'm sad they didn't let you show their Camdex & how they test loads, but you know! That's cool!

Unfortunately my hardback coat “shrunk” since I bought it 15 years ago LOL. (Hint: coats don’t shrink... shooters just get fat when we age)😎. Keep the videos coming Gavin. Good stuff...

Wow. I've been in comp shooting my entire life and never heard about anything "Creedmore" having anything to do with "exploding" long range shooting. I guess, to me, it exploded long before 6.5 CM existed. Or maybe it exploded for the 10th time. Good to see the high end products. Something we all need more of.
@greenacres4518
@greenacres4518 3 года назад
@John Doe I like what Frank Galli of Sniper's Hide said about 6.5cm after thoroughly testing it in several rifles. "6.5cm is a great caliber for new shooters, who don't have any other LR rifles. Experienced shooters might prefer 260 rem instead. The 2 calibers are almost identical in shooting characteristics (most of which comes from good load development for any rifle). 260 Rem buyer's, therefore, don't have to spend as much for components and parts compared to the pop-culture oriented buying frenzy surrounding 6.5cm." [Paraphrased of course]. A lot of us that comp shoot on a regular basis were thinking the same a year before he said it. You can get very tight groups out to 1600 yds if you know what you're doing in any caliber. Of course, once you get to that range, light weight bullets start having real problems. Ruger prec rifle is a great example as far as 'companies adjusting quickly to the market.' It's a bad example when speaking 'accuracy.' Factory ammunition is even worse, mostly because you never know what you're going to get. Factory rifles have the same issues. 6.5cm barrels only have a life expectancy of about 2500 rounds at best where 30 cal barrels will last up to 5000 rounds, possibly more. (Just something to think about when you spend 2k-5k building a new barreled action). This was stated by the owner of Bartlein barrels. Kreiger's owner stated the same minus a 1000 per caliber. Both of these companies build barrels that consistently win world records. For reference, I'm not bashing Ruger prec rifle, I'm just saying it's a crap shoot as far as being built consistently as a custom bolt rifle from a nationally known gunsmith. Gavin, I think, seems to know this stuff, but also knows every 6.5cm video he does, he gets twice as many hits (i.e. more money from the channel). Plus, I'm sure, with the emotionally engaged 6.5cm fans, I imagine they constantly request more 6.5 videos to foment the love affair's "drooling factor."..lol And yes. The Communist take over of America needs to be stopped. I've been warning for decades. solidnet.org

@Russell-1
@Russell-1 3 года назад
Internationally- in the mid 1800’s muzzle loaders were shot competitively at 1000-1200 yards. Then came metallic cartridges using black powder for use at the same distances - they were superseded for long range competition around 1890 by several small bore smokeless cartridges of which the 6.5x55 Swedish was just one.
