Great video! We got in early in October with a great culdesac lot in North Garland and they just poured concrete last week and we can’t wait for the finished product!

I see you really care about the homes of your clients. I see you walking through and showing their home updates on your videos. I wanted to know is First Texas a good builder and how do they measure up compared to like Highland Homes, Coventry, Perry and other builders etc.

Hello and thanks for the kind words. I actually like First Texas homes and have built quite a few. They do a good job and my clients have been happy. Highland is our favorite builder followed by Britton/Perry, Tradition, Toll Brothers and a few others. They are not at the level of Highland Homes. Its not just on the construction side. They forbid you from using your preferred title agency which is clearly documented as a negotiable item in RESPA. So First Texas is a middle tier builder that could actually be great if they would clean up their act. Hey, maybe they should call me and ask for my thoughts 😇 Seriously, thanks for watching and let us know if we can ever help...

@@TheLivingWellTeam Thank you I appreciate the information, didn't know FTH didn't let you use your preferred title. I really like Highland Homes, my only dislike with Highland is I feel their prices have gone to overly inflated and unreasonable levels compared to a lot of different builders for such small lots.

@@TheLivingWellTeam I like that FTH gives more house for the money like Perrry and others when compared to Highland Homes on bang for your buck level. FTH I heard recently started putting escalation clauses in their contracts that could increase house based on cost of materials, so I feel that could be a big determent for me. Highland homes does honor contract prices.

@@kelofficial8168 Yup, I understand. My team and I build lots of homes in Collin County Tx and I can tell you every builder has gone up like crazy. Partially its materials and labor and partially its because they can. In Mustang Lakes in Celina Tx we saw price increases on our $650k-ish build jobs going for $800k one year later. FYI, this isnt a bubble its our new normal...

Hi Praharsha, huge delays in every aspect. Delays in getting appliances, getting dirt, getting materials, labor and other aspects. It will probably get worse before it gets better...

Are they using osb or cdx plywood sheathing?

Hi, thanks for the question. This was from almost 2 years ago. I believe it was OSB, I could be wrong. If you are considering building with someone, you can call the sales associate and they will produce a materials sheet for you. If you notice, it is wrapped in DryLine as the exterior sheathing.

Hi Brent, my wife and I are looking forward to connecting with you, but we're about a year or so out. However, we are starting to thinking about the logistics of relocating out of state with 2 kids under 5 years old. We would not buy sight unseen and most likely would not fly back and forth to view homes. Not in this market, we'll see what next year brings. Which means we'll probably need to move twice, once just to get there and start looking then again when we buy. We don't love either option but it is what it is. :) How's the short-term rental market with say a budget around 4-6k per month? We'd be willing to give the landlord an extra month rent upon exit if that helps incentify options. Thank you!

You'd get a lot more views because there aren't any other videos of this house anywhere. Well besides an outdated video from First Texas Homes.
