I actually cried during this. I went through a lot of tissues. The fact they were all tearing up while singing, the whole thing was gorgeous! Eli did a phenomenal arrangement on this!
Cesar made me CRY during the premiere. Their emotions are so raw. Cesar has suffered great loss, losing a friend in a shooting at a Florida gay club, and surely he's been made to feel like he's a "creep" for being who he is, especially with Florida lawmakers attacking LGBTQ people's rights. Geoff's body image issues, which he showed in a more comical sense in "I Love Me", come up again. Here, he sounds like he still really struggles with that part of his mental health. (Although many female reactors MELT over him, haha!) "I want a perfect body" sounded way too personal and honest. I just want to give them all hugs and tell them how very special and perfect they are. Eli knocked this arrangement out of the park, visually and musically. I absolutely love Eli and Anthony's blend, the grit and the smooth riffs, passing back and forth between the two styles so effortlessly. Congrats on 100k, by the way. You more than deserve it.
Geoff is so self-depracating. I do hope that he will one day realise how special he is. I love him to bits. I iddn't know that about Cesar, thank you for the information.
@@bethjeans3780 While the camera was on Cesar, the others quickly moved the stools away and put the mirror in front of him. Eli pre-programs the lights so the change in lighting was automatic while Cesar was singing. It was all coordinated so the camera only showed Cesar.
Cesar must have had an excellent theatre teacher in high school. They seem to give Cesar the sad parts. He looks like he is crying and breaking my heart. They did it in I Can't Make You Love Me.
@Broomrider1492…I’m sure he pulled from not only his theater experience …but personal…who of us can say we can’t relate on some lever…Thanks for watching Qofy’s reaction..😊
I think the word you were looking for at the beginning is metronome, to describe the role of Geoff's harmony notes. This is the second video where Cesar makes me cry., the other being I Can't Make You Love Me. All of the guys were raw and intimate in this one to the point I just want to give them all a hug and reassure them that they ARE special. I did not vote for this song in their Patreon poll as I haven't liked any version I've heard ... until this one. Love this one.
See, I don’t think they’re missing a thing when it’s just the four of them. And each different guest brings a new dimension that changes things up, so that’s all good. And if they’re saving a spot for J.None, I love it. It always feels like the gang’s all here when he shows up. I really don’t like depressing songs, so I’ve never liked Creep, but this arrangement (which is by Eli, by the way) is incredible. As always, I loved watching you listen to it.
Thank you once again for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. Cesar stold the show. He reaches deep down into your soul with this one . Only he can make the strongest person cry & he definitely has. His expressions are priceless. It was Geoff's idea to use the mirror's. This is the best cover by anyone even better than the original.
The whole time I watched this the first time I couldn't help but just get lost my eyes completely glued to the screen with no words for how it sounded along with the video I was captivated for sure sucked right in❕❗
Precious is an apt word! Angst was perfectly conveyed! The use of the mirrors was inspired. Eli's arrangement was from the soul. The singing and harmonies were dead on! Ceasar, Eli, Geoff, and Anthony poured every bit of emotion into the lyrics. They all sounded like they had had this crisis of faith to draw upon for this. It sounded so raw emotionally but smooth as silk vocally.. Geoff and Layne drove the beat and anchored it to perfection. Camera and lighting were inspired. Kudos all around.
Man I love watching you listening to Voiceplay! You show so MANY faces! I pay closer attention to certain parts simply by your expressions! I LOVE this rendition of this song. Cesar needs a hug. They ALL need a hug! Elli and Anthony do transition off each other so, so we'll. They did it in 7 nation army song too. But I think they are saving their 5th spot for JNone to come back to. They feel and sound complete with him. I love the guest singers and hope they will still include them when JNone comes back. But with In The Air Tonight, I listened and went "Yeah, there they are! The bands back together!" Thank you for your awesome reaction! Your my favorite man! ❤❤🎉🎉😊
@robinhatcher8…Thank you for appreciating Qofy’s reaction..and for your kind words and supporting his channel. Qofy is so familiar with their techniques and signature sounds…there’s nobody that can match his performance breakdown…
Could they get any more emotional? Incredible. Tear jerking. I just want to give them all a big hug and tell them that they absolutely do belong. They're all very special. . They've hit it out of the park - again. Anthony did Seven Nation Army with them too, but lives in California so it's a long way for him to go each time.
The first time through in the initial release, the tempo change scrambled my circuits so much I never really settled back into the song. This time through I was expecting it and, WOW, just wow! Phenomenal arrangement! Great reaction too. Way to coin a new word. "Voiceplaying" is the perfect verb for them. P.S. The word you were looking for is metronome.
If these guys are creeps and weirdos, I say the world needs more creeps and weirdos! Everything about this arrangement was magical. Eli absolutely owned it! He needs to arrange more songs! MORE MORE MORE! Brought tears to my eyes. I have been so burned out on this song...was just meh...and now I'm absolutely in love with it. I can't even put a finger on one thing because ALL of it was amazing. Utter perfection. Just wow! I also love that Cesar's mirror made it into the credits. 😍
Cesar really got me in this one. It's so moving. I like how stripped back it was too. Made it hit harder somehow. Loved your reaction, and congrats on hitting the 100k milestone!! ❤❤
I think that ending note where you here the clear chest note bass and the growl, was Layne doing the clear chest, and Geoff doing the growl. Layne has been known to do low bass, and sometimes tweaks his voice in editing to make it lower to give Geoff a challenge. (At least that is what he told Elizabeth from Charismatic Voice in her interview of him from the release of the Moana Medley.)
I listened to it soley a good few times and I think lane is singing a G2 and Geoff is doing a really breathy G1 in chest. I’m a bass myself and anything G#1 in chest is normally very breathy for me
I love that they DO IT ALL! NO genre is forgotten and we just never know what is next. Such talent and joy of performing. Thanks for the reaction and I agree - Perfection
I also loved this arrangement, beause it was so beautiful and hit home right here. I nearly cried. As I loved the slow and soft singing that Ceasar was doing. 😢❤ Voiceplay always just hits it out of the park every cover 👏🏼
Desde Argentina!!!... Como dijiste... Perfección... No solo vocal, sino emocional!!! Como me hizo llorar esta versión de Voiceplay.... Y tu reaccion .. siempre exquisita!!! Te felicito!... Un abrazo a la distancia!😊
Oh yes, 100000 subs sharp right now! Congratulations, Qofy! You're one of the very first I started to follow when I found Voiceplay 3-4 years ago, and you deserve all these subs! Beautiful version of this song, isn't it!!
I hope they’re keeping that 5th spot opened until J None gets finish with his active duty so he can come back. But I’m truly enjoying all their covers.
Thank you for a great reaction/analysis! I knew it was going to be terrific...just did not know how so. They just keep getting better and better. It does not seem possible, but there it is.
Well I'm a happy bunny - new videos released by 3 of my favourite artists (VoicePlay, Home Free and Jonathan Young) within an hour of each other this afternoon! 🥰 Another incredible arrangement and emotional performance by the guys. Yet again they have made me appreciate a song I have never been a fan of. Congrats on the 100k subs by the way, Qofy ☺
I absolutely loved this! The drama, the vocals, the arrangement, the best of VoicePlay!!! ❤❤ Thank you for such a great reaction, analysis! Geoff was definitely like the metronome! Keeping them all together. This was awesome!!
They used Cesar for "I can't make you love me" because his breathy, emotional voice get's you all teared-up (or worked-up, depending on how he uses it😆) Seems like it might become a trend. He's got the perfect voice for it. I love Anthony with VoicePlay. His voice is gorgeous. About the only bit I didn't like (personal opinion) was Geoff's low section, which I think was too low to show real emotion and as a result lost the clarity and passion of the song. But I know a lot of people like his low sections. Overall, another hit I shall play often. Thanks for the reaction, QoFy!
Oh, it definitely needs to happen, it all needed to happen. Just a stunning arrangement. I cried for a week. I can finally watch it without crying every time, but the kleenex are nearby, just in case.
Gorgeous video..gorgeous reaction..only you know how to break down an acapella performance with so much detail..and seems like Geoff always has to have the last word 😂! ☺️❤️‼️
Personally was expecting more/different from voiceplay with this song. I don't think it's bad and it's on my playlist but I wouldn't have this as one of my favourites
Favourites exists for a reason. Every song doesn’t have to be your favourite. Even the greatest artists of all time have songs that are not people’s favourites.
@@QofyReacts totally agree Voiceplay are my No1. Recently they've released in a pattern of one song I really like one song that I'm not too keen on but still think is good one song I like one song that I'm not too keen on but is still good over and over. The one thing that seems to be consistent with the ones I'm not keen on is the fact that they all aren't giving me enough Eli. Like this one especially after the pentatonix rendition with Scott putting every inch of soul into his part got me really exited expecting Eli to be going full rock but I didn't feel like I got that from this. I didn't quite get my vocal rush from this song. But with the direction they went with this song I feel Cesar needed more he got his moment and was definitely the overall star but I still wanted more from him and the parts Eli had I feel could have been given to Cesar.
@@AudioVile well they can't all be winners. I think depending on your expectations for this song is will depend on how much you will enjoy it. I was expecting more a heavy rock pentatonix inspired version as Scott's part in there cover is one of my favourites from Scott and this song in general
For myself some of my reactions, no matter how unfairly, depends on how much I like the original version. The more invested emotionally I am in another version the harder it is for me to appreciate the new one. I usually get there finally when I remember that it is not a cover of an artist, but a cover of the song. It seems unfair to compare them to another artist because that’s not what they’re trying to do. But there are some pieces that I either don’t care for the arrangement (although that is extremely rare and both times they were arranged by someone else) or I don’t care for the song no matter how well they did it.
they just copied PTX because of their recent success with it, Voiceplay was good but PTX head and shoulders above it, so after hearing PTX first ,this made it meh for me.
I think this was good, but not their best. I am very picky with Voice Play since they are my 'favorite' a cappella group. I actually like the out-take harmonies more than the song. There were several "amazing moments," but overall, I wouldn't put it in their top 10, or even 20.
