In this short tutorial, we show you how to turn a regular kerosene lantern into an electric one, using a flicker bulb. We had to rebuild a couple of these after some were destroyed in a sewer flood, so we thought we'd show you how it's done. It's super easy and produces a great effect. We've used these in our Pirate's Cove haunt for years! Just be careful if you build one, since you are working with household current!

Good idea, but you need to use a grommet to prevent the electrical cord chafing through from the sharp edge of the hole (at 2:07)

I've done conversions similar to this. Although I include a turn knob in the fuel cap to turn it off and on.

You could use white paint, sparingly, or perhaps find some fake snow spray around Christmas time. I recall a product called "Make-It-Snow", but that was from years ago... don't know if it's still around.

At Walmart in the spray paint department they sell a spray that is called FROSTED GLASS..its gives u the effect u are wanting.

DANGER! STOP! This is a nice idea but it simply isn’t safe. It needs to be grounded as the case is metal. There is also no provision to stop the live cable from being pulled from the light fitting inside the case. If someone were to trip on the cable it could come lose internally. The instant they then touch the lamp...zap.
