This is borderline obsession. This is infatuation. It’s an unhealthy fixation on your object of affection. They used it for Romeo and Juliet. Taken in that context…the lengths they go to to be together, after having known each other for only 3 days. Still one of my absolute favorite songs by Garbage. Others are Queer, Milk, Stupid Girl, I’m Only Happy When It Rains….they have a great catalog. Shirley Manson, the lead, was my goth queen in high school in the 90’s. She’s such a badass b*tch. ❤️

That's pretty good - quite hypnotic... MILK, and YOU LOOK SO FINE (by Garbage), are also worth hearing, which are both very dreamy and atmospheric - also, the latter's album version has a very haunting outro, which was edited out on the single mix.

I've been listening to this song for decades. And I have borderline personality disorder, so it's funny to see other reactions to it and realize that no one else hears these lyrics and relates to them (painfully accurate in my case). It takes a lot of effort to keep these kind of feelings and thoughts restrained so I don't alienate people lol

I’ve always loved this song which is definitely NOT a love song. It’s all about obsession and how affection taken to extremes is unhealthy for everyone involved. It would have been the perfect theme song for the movie Fatal Attraction. Instead, they used it for Romeo and Juliet which may have been a bit off base as their relationship may have been rash, but it wasn’t as crazy as this song would imply.

This reminds me of the way people saw the song Every Breath You Take as some kind of love song (couples even played it at their weddings) when even Sting says it's about a stalker and not at all about love. This is about an obsessive and potentially dangerous fan. This is Shirley's nightmare as someone in the public eye.

Something kind of off in the relationship, a little bit? It's not just a bi, hahaha.. Like Jenn Stetler said, it's obsession - unhealthy obsession. Awesome song though. I wouldn't call this example female power but more sick. Creepy, yes. Although, there are plenty of strong, female power songs, and also from Garbage.
