Thanks for the honest review and feedback! We really appreciate it! Glad to hear the stability and paddlability lived up to your expectations! The UltraLite is truly a backwater machine. Let's see a video of your daughter slaying some fish in it!
@@crescent-kayaks Would you recommend this to me? I'm 6 foot and 230lbs. I love how its still light at 49lbs. Makes it a lot easier throwing it up on my Jeep Compass. T.I.A.
You can add pool noodles to the bottom straps of the seat as well. Made mine very comfortable. If I plan on an extra long day I have a Thermaseat I can strap on it.
I use 2 Yak Attack rotogrips on the right side track to hold my paddle. Work great. I have a CK1 by the way. For comfort in the seat if you find you need more padding you might try a Kayak Kushion.
This was a great review. I'm similar in height and weight to you and am torn between the UL and CK1. Want something lighter that is easy to toss on top of the suv. Really appreciate you putting the UL through it's paces here. Shows me I won't be disappointed if I go UL.
Great video! I am about to pull the trigger on a ck1 and I have heard they perform very similar to the UL - I am a bit heavier than you and typically bring a bit of gear or the dog with me, so the bigger capacity of the ck1 is a must for me. The Nucanoe Flint is currently my second choice (the retailer I am going to sells Nucanoe and Crescent so I will compare in person). How did the Nucanoe paddle compared to the UL? Speed? Tracking? Primary/secondary stability? Thanks!
the paddle holder is HUGE ! so weird how some companies do not include it . like how do they think we are moving the kayaks we just bought from them lol
The paddle holder is the bungies over the front hatch. You just slip one end under & run the other end to one side. I have a Tarpon 100 that has both the side paddle holder & the front bungy & I use the front bungy 90% of the time, especially when fishing. Great review though.
had it on a slow moving river yet? I've been looking at this one and the ck1. I want light but I want to be able to let's say splash your neighbor(using the paddle) without going over. I've an f10 and I've been under several times with that one doing just that. I need light, and able to handle a leisure river. but stable enough to play a little.
I guess it depends on your skill level. Lower seats are better. I use my hobie outback seat (2" lower) but here is a vid of us pushing limits. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qaEuBJdcrco.html
Use a carabiner from the back bungee to to the lowest strap on the back of the seat for added security. Here’s a good tip for Crescent seat straps. Big difference. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oo8l750qa-s.html
i float with my legs like you, hanging on the top edge or hanging outside the boat. those rails are useless for me. I agree at 18:20, the rails would work better farther back
@@brianrichard1768 I just sold my flint the other day and ordered an ultra lite. Nucanoe claims 63lbs on their website for the flint. I weighed mine and was 78lbs with the seat on. Definitely need something lighter for the fishing I do. I also was not impressed with the paddleability of the flint.
