Cricut Infusible Ink Coloring with Pens - Make a Mandala Totebag!

Cricut's Infusible Ink can bring your next coloring project to life in a fun and permanent way! Using an Infusible Ink pen, you can draw a design, color it in with more Infusible ink pens or markers, and then transfer the design permanently to a totebag, t-shirt, coaster, and more! In this tutorial, I have my Cricut draw a beautiful mandala with the black pen, then color it in with the pink and purple pens, finally transferring it onto my totebag so I can appreciate my hard work for always!
MATERIALS LIST (contains my affiliate links):
* Cricut Infusible Ink Pens (basic set) - fxo.co/1164423...
* Cricut Infusible Ink-compatible totebag
* Cricut EasyPress or Heat Press (I used the original EasyPress) - amzn.to/2F5QBm4
* Cricut EasyPress pressing mat I used the large and medium sizes) - amzn.to/2F8kgLp
* LightGrip mat
* White cardstock
* Butcher paper
* Laser copy paper (white)
* Scissors and tweezers
* Lint roller
* A way to draw the project (I used the amazing Cricut -- see shrsl.com/1dq4w )
* My free SVG design file (Design #154) (available in my free resource library at jennifermaker.... )
Step 1: Prepare your design in Cricut Design Space
Step 2: Have your Cricut draw the design with an Infusible Ink pen
Step 3: (Optional) Color in your mandala by hand with your Infusible Ink pens
Step 4: Transfer your inked design to your totebag (or another Infusible Ink compatible blank) using your EasyPress or heat press. Get the specific temperature and pressing duration at cricut.com/en_...

Jennifer, it was so fun to try this project at last. Thank you so much for the free mandala design. My tote bag came out great. Just slightly light in spots and less vibrant than your bag but still pretty. I can't wait to experiment with the infusible inks some more! I've been toying with the idea of using the pens, but didn't have ideas and thought they weren't all that useful. Anything I could color with a pen, I could just cut from the ink paper. In fact, some folks' projects look like they are having to dig deep to find a use for the pens.I love the adult color books and this is such a cool way to use them. Wonderful design!

I have bought some laser paper and am amazed at the difference in quality to ordinary copy paper. It is so silky. I have downloaded this mandala and will give it a go. The only concern I have, apart from all that colouring in, is that I will have to do it with my steam press (without the steam of course!) as I have the same little gadget you have to test the temperatures and my steam press certainly goes up high enough at the highest setting. I read somewhere that I can avoid problems with the steam vents by moving the work a little every time the beeper goes. I'll probably try it on a smaller project first so as not to waste too much time if it doesn't work! I will let you know how I get on. The easy press is far too expensive for me.

I love this! My favourite colours. I can't afford an Easy Press so I will have to save up which may take some time. So, I can look forward to making this. Mean time I can look around for a suitable bag to put this mandala on, or I could make one!

Wow...I was thinking wow, about an hour to draw it out, but then 3 hrs to color!! Yikes! But it's beautiful!! So, you drew the design with 'pens', but colored in with 'markers'? I only ordered markers, which just arrived today! Want to try it, but now wondering if I should've gotten pens too...

I've been seriously considering getting a maker for a while now. The cost is the only thing that has kept me from having already added it to a designated spot in my craft room. :P (I have saved up several gift cards from Christmas though, so am just decided what I actually need for making sewing and leather crafts with the Cricut Maker!)
