Do you know if when using the print then cut option do you have to print on Cricut only or can you print on any paper, cardstock, etc? This will help me decide on whether to purchase as well.
Thanks 4 sharing ur knowledge with us. I'm a beginner when it comes to these devices. I've read that the cricut joy app is being discontinued. I really want something not to difficult to use. I'm interested in the print & cut for my custom projects.
For Print then Cut on a Cricut, your only option is going to be Cricut Design Space. I don't think the Cricut Joy app even had Print then Cut. Hope that helps! :)
I have a new question will there be a helpful book out for the Joy Xtra or just rely on all the other books that covers pretty much all the original machines out there. No doubt print and cut is covered in the all comprehensive books.
It’s on my list to add to my lineup! It will basically be like the Cricut joy book, but with the print then cut information added from the other books 😆
I was all set to purchase a Cricut Joy Xtra for card making until I read somewhere that it cannot natively create a simple score line, which I thought was a basic option! It can do Print Then Cut but not score?? Is that really true? It makes no sense to me as it seems it would have been a simple thing to add a scoring stylus to fit. Is it because there isn’t enough pressure to score? There seem to be hacks out there that supposedly work. If that’s the case it makes no sense that it is not natively supported!
There's no native way to score! It's because it doesn't have the force it needs to do a good score. That's why they have so many card sets that already have scored cards for cutting and foiling. There may be hacks, but if it's just a card then maybe scoring by hand might be an option?
@@HeyLetsMakeStuff yes, you are right, scoring by hand makes the most sense for cards. I did think that I could make little gift boxes too, but without score lines I think those would be fiddly. I’m glad I read about it before purchasing or I would have been disappointed. I’m sure it is a good little machine for the things that it does do.
