I’m seeing so many comments about people having had these machines in the box for months, and not opening. I bought this thing 2 hrs ago and I’m at the office ready to dig in!!
Hi Ariel, Thank you. I will do a tour of my craft room soon. I have an Epson Ecotank 2850. At the recording of this video I had an older Brother printer too, but I recently got rid of it. If you have questions about the Cricut machine you can comment here or send an email to me at byrd@insideoutlined.com
Informative! I am ready to order a Cricut Maker 3 but I am looking around for videos to be sure I "need" it. This will be my 4th Cricut. I began in the very beginning with cartridges, no computer interface, and nothing online. Wow! That was a LONG time ago. Subscribing and going back to see more of your videos.

Thank you so very much. I learned a TON and have never used a cricut of any kind before, but got this very machine for Christmas. Great job with the video
I purchased my 3 when it came out and ive been scared to use it because i just jumped up and said oh i want one and still havent used it so thanks for this
Hello! You shouldn’t be afraid to use your Cricut machine. It’s very easy once you get the hang of it. Face your fear and start making amazing projects for your family and friends. You can do it.
Thank you for unboxing with us!❤ I unboxed my Cricut maker 3 yesterday and did a test cut with the same black smart vinyl, but the paper kept moving as it cut and the design was completely off🥲 am I missing a step with this smart vinyl??
My 2nd message I usually don’t even write one but I loved your video on how to use this machine , but can you share more videos on cool stuff you create please !!! And thanks
Thank you, Johanna! If you have suggestions on the type of videos you'd like to see me create, please let me know and I'd be more than happy to record them.
This is the first video of yours I’ve watched (excellent job btw), so don’t know if you’re a sewer. Have you ever used this machine to aid in making quilts? Seriously considering upgrading to the Maker 3 after watching this.
Thanks for this video. I literally just got my Cricut Maker 3 a week ago and just opened it yesterday. I do not know anything about the Cricut and how to use it. Can you suggest some basic tools I should get to get myself started? I plan on going to Michaels tomorrow. Do you do a tutorial on how to use the system to cut items on different materials? Thanks again for sharing.

Nice video however did you need a printer for this project or did you just use the design space? Also if not what types of project do you need a printer for?
Hello! You only need a printer if you want to use the print then cut feature of Cricut Design Space to print greeting cards, shirts, etc. Watch this video to see how I used the print then cut feature to make an Encanto shirt ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FDmCXfjCSJc.html
Hello enjoyed the video my boyfriend bought me this cricuit I'm a beginner never had one. This video was helpful but I do have a question what kind of laptop do I have to have to set it up or can I set it up with my android phone? Please help
Hi Ruby, Yes, there is a Cricut app that you can download to your Android phone. Click the following link to see the additional types of devices that you can use with your Cricut machine: help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009556033-System-Requirements-Design-Space
I have the explore air 2 and now the cricut maker 3. Can you please let me know, is the cricut maker 3 just an updated version of explore air 2? Can the maker 3 do all that air 2 does but more / better? I want to know so that i can decide if i dont need both and will sell the explore 2 and just keep the maker 3. Please reply! Thank you so much for your help ❤
That sounds great Liyana. I keep both machines because when I’m making large orders of tshirts or other projects, it’s quicker to use both machines than to just wait for one to finish.
I had a question please so your old circuit machine will you still use for certain things . Because I am going to buy the one you unboxed now I am new to this so would it be all I need ?
Hello, I use both machines mostly when I’m creating bulk orders of shirts, confetti, etc. The process moves much faster when I have both machines going at the same time.
I love my Cricut Maker 3. I love the variety of materials it can cut and all the projects I can make with my machine. Check out the latest Cricut deals here: cricut.pxf.io/15BNDa
I just bought a Maker 3 still partway through unboxing. I noticed on your test cut you cut the corner of the vinyl out. Will the machine somehow know that a part is missing when you load it back in and then print over on the other end? are all 4 sides of the vinyl same size so you can just do a quarter turn on the piece you used to then have a full length side loaded in for the next print. Hope my questions made sense. Feels like a lot to learn for a newbie like me.
Hello, That’s a great question. In Cricut Design Space you get to choose where you want your design to be cut. Because I cut the top left part of the vinyl, I could add another design anywhere else on the vinyl to be cut. You could also remove the vinyl from the mat and rotate it 90 degrees so you could cut it in the top left again. I hope that all makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to answer me. Nothing seems to be doing what I want it to computer keeps disconnecting bluetooth, claims i have wrong size paper in etc.. im gonna go to bed and hope my brain tomorrow morning is a little more keen! haah Thanks for the link I appreciate that. The one thing about Cricut that I didnt expect is they seem to wanna charge ridiculous prices for every little thing. I thought i was buying a cutting maching and a program that lets me cut not a pay as you print setup :(@@InsideOutlined
You’re welcome. Sometimes when setting up there are a few glitches but once you get past those, you’ll be cutting in no time. There are some free projects and images in Cricut Design Space and you can also find free SVG files online in free resource libraries.
Hi! A cutting blade comes with the machine, but if you want any of the additional blades (rotary, perforation, wavy, etc.) you will have to purchase them separately. Let me know if you have additional questions. Thanks, Byrd
Hi Shanice, Follow the steps in the video below to make a shirt with your Cricut Maker 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wjb2kTrrB7E.html
Hello. I just bought the cricut maker 3. I tested with the piece of smart vinyl that it came with but I found that the cut wasn't strong enough so when I tried to peel the vinyl the design came off. I tried changing the pressure to more but that still didn't work. I increased the pressure to 300 with no multiple cuts and it still didnt cut all the way through. Did you have this issue? I tried cut with 3x cuts and it worked but i don't think vinyl is supposed to require so much pressure ot multiple cuts. It's a brand new machine, so the blade has not been used before.
Hi Christine, I did not have an issue cutting my Smart Vinyl with my Maker 3. If you’re finding that the Smart Vinyl requires more pressure, you can update the current material or create a “new material” so that every time you cut the Smart Vinyl, your machine automatically applies more pressure and multiple cuts. Use this link to update or create a new material: help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009383274-How-do-I-use-or-create-a-Custom-material-setting-#:~:text=Select%20the%20app%20menu%2C%20then,wish%20to%20delete%20the%20setting. Thanks, Byrd
Hi JC, You would need a printer to print greeting cards, stickers, or even magnets as I demonstrate in the video linked below. You need a Cricut to cut out the greeting cards, stickers or magnets. If you intend to make shirts, you’ll need a Cricut machine to cut the material to go on your shirt. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cSKjq8Nx69I.html
I have the same machine and I don’t no wat to do or how to print my own stickers. I understand everything you did with the set up but if i was ti buy Avery paper to print my stickers how do i do that
Hello, Yes, I recommend keeping any vinyl that you did not cut. You basically have to let your Cricut know where the material is on the mat by placing your design wherever you want it on the mat before cutting it. I hope that helps. Byrd
Hi Jill, I’m assuming you have a Cricut Explore Air 2 and a Cricut Maker 3. In Cricut Design Space, open a new project and go to the Canvas. In the top right corner next to “My Stuff” and beside the “Make” button, you should see the Cricut machine that’s currently connected to Cricut Design Space. Click on that machine name and choose the Cricut machine you want to use.
Hello, You can use the link below to purchase a Cricut Maker 3. cricut.pxf.io/kjYL5V You won't need the heat press unless you intend to make shirts and other items that require heat to adhere the heat transfer vinyl to different materials.
Hello, According to the Cricut website, they only sell directly to customers in South Africa. cricut.com/en-us/country-selector I would recommend searching on Amazon or Swing Design to see if you can purchase a machine in Nigeria.
Hi Mitzi, I have 2 Cricut machines for large orders such as large orders of shirts. It saves time to be able to have 2 machines cutting at the same time.
@@lindyberrios8820 Hi Lindy! You only need a printer if you want to use the print then cut feature of Cricut Design Space to print greeting cards, shirts, etc. Watch this video to see how I used the print then cut feature to make magnets. studio.ru-vid.comcSKjq8Nx69I/edit
I made the BIGGEST MESS. Did not know that the mats have different GRIPS in terms of stickiness. I put cardstock on STRONG GRIP and I have been trying for the last 25 minutes to get the cardstock off the mat.....super frustrated to even complete the project. The thing I cut...has ripped and ughhhhh. - wish I had known about the GRIP....if anyone reads this, do not make the same mistake. The Strong grip is really really really strong. Cardstock should not go on the strong grip mat.
Hi Kimberley, I'm sorry you had that experience with the strong grip mat. It can be very frustrating to mess up a project, I've been there many times before. I personally don't own any strong grip mats because I primarily cut cardstock and stickers. Thank you for sharing your experience and please don't be discouraged from crafting, it's part of the journey to learning your machine.
Hi Jim, Yes, you can use this machine to make shirts and I definitely think it’s a good investment. I’ve loved my Cricut Maker 3 and I use it for my business.
Constructive criticism...too much rambling, extra noise and just get to the point! The unboxing was really unnecessary. Really think you're cute though.
I loved it an you were just fine. The person who commented bout criticizing you needs to move on cuz I haven’t had my cricket I just got it in 2022 for Christmas an I need help using it thanks for your video
🤔🤔🤔 a 2 keyboard stand wood work you would just have to put some boards across it instead of keyboards and that way it'll have room in the back for the vinyl it's a stand that hold 2 keyboards
