I have been on both sides - cyclist and behind the wheel. Driving in central London is overwhelming enough, but sometimes you just have to. If in the car, at point of turning right no driver is anticipating a cyclist to undertake. It would be startling and is absolutely dangerous. One wrong by Diego and it could have resulted in a not so nice accident. Filtering through standstill traffic is fine, but when traffic is moving, join the queue and don't ever undertake moving traffic. You never know where is a drivers blind spot and which undertake might be your last.
Why do most cyclists have no awareness of self-preservation? Is it really worth endangering your life just for the opportunity to nearly get run over so you can say 'I told you so' or put it on RU-vid, or on the off-chance that a car driver has seen you and knows what your intentions are? It's weird how people change the minute they get into a car or on a bike.
@Donkavision-sx4js You ask and answer your own question? That's the only way you can win a debate...huh? £100 says you'll "mute" me, after attempting a playground response. 3, 2, 1...
How do you know he was "Speeding"? To me, it looks like he just blipped it past the van and probably didn't get past 30mph. False Title by a cyclist who thinks he's part of a sub-division of law enforcement. And just because it's yellow with black GT stripes doesn't mean it's a Bumble Bee, and Bumble Bee wasn't a Ford Mustang anyway.
@davetkd666 @TheMirrorGuy @seansean9675 This is an good example of how by taking primary position Silvio makes the streets safer for all. I'm looking forwards to your rants about how dangerous the driver was. Because the driver of the sports car had good acceleration it was easy for him to get past the van only for to wind up in queue of cars at a red light. What if a child crossed the road then? Taking primary position where necessary makes the road safer from dangerous drivers who like to accelerate and decelerate constantly between lights. What is wrong at maintaining the same speed as a cyclist who does between 18-20mph, without any particular desire to overtake when the average Central London speed is 10mph? If you guys want to make the roads safer for all, I suggest you stand by the roadside with a speed gun to video cars breaking the speed limit, jumping red lights etc and reporting them to the police. If you drive you can also mount the same kind of speed gun on your car, stay below the speed limit and do the same.
It's good to see that Silvio can safely cycle closer to parked cars, and not need to ride in an overly assertive manner. Sharing the road works both ways.
I've never defended bad road use, nor will I. Supercar's a twunt You're correct there are parts where this does demonstrate good prime here (the previous vid didn't) but you skipped out the bad right he made from the main road after undertaking the queuing traffic. One of the things you're wrong on is that silvio had no desire to overtake. He overtakes everything he can move faster than regardless of safety - for him or other road users. But, you know what. I'm going to apologise. I'll apologise to you and silvio AND Donkey - beacuse I'm sure he'll be around here somewhere... wiping the cheese from his nethers. You see I've come to a realisation, call it an epiphany, after watching this local chap ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nb3f7l8eCcg.htmlsi=BQbfIcF-AcxN2wEZ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NZtty2kfOMo.htmlsi=IN8S9FSDSyOJVeAV I've made a mistake. You see, I first discovered silvios videos when he highlighted different types of divers and cyclists that made road use a pain and quite enjoyed them. But I didn't note the change on direction, at least not at first. Now I can see the stark contrast: silvio of the past would probably have used silvio of now for content in one his worst type of cyclist montages. But I digress. See I've never came on with the view of having a fight but I won't shy away. What I did note were the levels of ignorant praise and fawning over bad cycling that gets drizzled his way, and it's clear its got his ego wider than than a well used fanny. I've tried to highlight certain things not as a cyclist or a motorist or a pedestrian ( because I'm all of those things, don't really define myself as one in particular), but just as a road user. With all the praise he gets he doesn't need more, if anything he would benefit from another perspective that allows reflection (a good skill of any road user) And there in lies my mistake. As those links, these vids, and Donkeys parroting have revealed, this isn't about motorists, or road safety, or improving practice, or helping our roads... hell, its not even about cycling. It's about insecure people protecting their little youtube bubble of attention, a pseudo sense of relevance. That's why people get their knickers in a twist when their victim status is threatened. That's why silvio manufacturers the incidents (ok some) that provide content, why Jeremy Vine steers into hazards and it's even why Donkey refuses to stray from his little "must have a channel of your own" podium. You're all afraid your fragile little shell of self appointed superiority takes a hammer. Your no different from social influencers, from dashcam warriors and Edge Lords, it's just that you choose to do it from a saddle. And all those fragile road users with a bad dose of wee man's saddle syndrome flock along. So, yeah, sorry. I mistook you for rational, mature human beings with a sense of decency and intelligence. ... I mean I'm still gonna post, I'll just have try and factor this into my responses from now on.
@@Donkavision-sx4js there yer there Donkey. You very quiet after the "Brave" challenge fell flat on its arse. Nah took less than half the effort of one of your 00:08 finger wagging jobs. How'd the road awareness course go btw? Oh, and thanks proving my point btw and being a barren desert of intelligence.
