You are right about one thing: just because a person is born as a certain race doesn't mean they speak the language. I'm a Chinese and I can speak Chinese. But there are some people who cannot speak or read Chinese. These people are called 'bananas' by other people.

I am suspecting Obaasaan as the killer. She is acting weird.... In first chapter she told the player to stop the investigation because whereever the player goes, he brings death. SHE MAY BE THE TOP SOMBRA AGENT OF THIS CASE/ DISTRICT.
the murder games reminds me of a Japanese movie called Battle Royale. It is also about a movie where students kill each other and the last one standing is declared the winner.
You think Chieko and Obaasan is speak Japanese only?Ronin is Japanese too because he can speak his own country's language.So killer is among three Japanese suspects but SILVERee can speak Japanese but he is not good in wooden puzzle.So make him to rule out as killer.
what is obaasan is the head hunter, she experience the lost of her friend because of war and because of that she told the kid not to be weak, she also do this 'hunger games' maybe because she ever experience it with her friends.

When I saw June holding the crossbow, I was like "Uh-Oh". I would imagine that if Chieko was the killer for this case and the head hunter that tell Warren Goodfellow to kill Sandeep. Also Ace, I like the test run that you did in this video because I really get to see what Jonathan and Chiara look like. Get Nat along as well although their's some confusion towards the end of Additional Invesigtion in the final case of PB, she done well acting with the female characters.
