4:06 The allegations against Colleen (and Trent holy moly!!😬) are Federal offenses. We're talking FBI shit especially because minors are involved. This is so much bigger than her potentially being sued. Criminal defense attorneys try to keep their clients out of JAIL! *IF* and I repeat only IF.... criminal charges are brought against her, she's Sooo so screwed because of this video.
46:05 Worst case scenario - the "addressing everything" video of 2020. This chick (and her family) are in so much trouble... dude in the video just jumped ahead to what a difference this *would* make in terms of sentencing. As in *potential* jail SENTENCE. Colleen said if best herself: "Fck me, right?" 👀🍿🚔
Hey Adam. I’ve been watching you pretty religiously the last few days and I literally never talk about this but I’m gonna. My grandpa was a criminal defense lawyer for Chicago celebs, and had one very very famous case that you and everyone know of probably very well. And is probably the first one you think of. He had a lot others, but this one case in particular was really hard for him. There are books on my grandpa, and he was on the news a lot. I can assure you, if he had Colleen’s case he would not be okay. He would probably do what he did last time he was a sex scandals lawyer and go insane having to spend every minute thinking about a person they absolutely despise. And that’s coming from a man that represented literal serial killers. I hope that may give you some insight on how Colleen’s lawyer is feeling. He’s probably not sleeping.
There’s a great Hollywood attorney who works with people in the entertainment industry and she did her own video on Colleen …her YT channel is @TheCreatorsAttorney she’s absolutely flabbergasted about what Colleen said in her Ukulele bs response. It’s another good watch 😉❤️
I really believe that when Colleen sang, "bony little back," she was further trying to make herself look like the victim. She was trying to make the public see her as vulnerable and naturally innocent. Both the defense lawyer, and prosecution, will bring that up in court but in different ways.
Not only that, but the awful OBVIOUS wrinkle filter SHE uses to make herself look younger... Nope. The fact is, is that she's a middle aged women acting like an innocent child. Unbelievable.
@@peachpixiedust he made a short talking about how she may be trying to use music copyrighting to get the money from videos using her song, said it wouldn’t work, and then they included the song in the short😂
I mean I watch true crime content with a retired detective and he says all the time once a suspect admits to even just being at the crime scene, it opens the door to everything. Her admitting to being creepy and messaging fans is the same thing.
@@elijolesy thanks! I love content made by experts. I don't like these true crime podcasts with too much banter and talking about random stuff. Like... report the case. The one I'm listening to now is hosted by criminologists (women and crime) and it's good It's not super monotonous like Casefile but isn't just laughing either
Crime Weekly is done by a true crime RU-vidr who narrates the cases and gives the information and research and then the detective reacts and give his feedback based off his experience and knowledge. It’s interesting when you’re like I wonder why law enforcement did this and he either explains the reasoning or is just like yea I have no idea why they fucked that up.
I think her “my team told me” gag is pure jokes. That is the kind of thing her kiddie cult will eat up. You don’t pay people hundreds of thousands of dollars to give you advice and then ignore it. That’s just bad math. The “sing what I wanted to say” punchline is for the tweens to cheer on their badass anti hero. She’s a real rebel bucking the authority - the authority she hired? She actually doesn’t know how to talk to adults.
I agree. I think she thought she was being clever and quirky by singing her response. She might have added that they advised her not to say anything because people wondered why she took so long to respond a she wants her team to be to blamed for that. She doesn't take accountability for anything.
This! She sang it purely for her younger audience so they would side with her. Everyone sits here and says "shes so dumb for singing it!" but she wasn't thinking of the actual adults involved. she was thinking of her target audience: children. And that in itself I find really gross.
Adam is literally glowing these days. Colleen will get what's coming to her because everyone knows Karma is a bitch. It took a long time to come around, but it's coming for her with a vengeance.
Runkle and Emily actually know each other and its funny because they would actually be on opposite sides of the courtroom but their both brilliant and I adore them.
Ian Runkle is a damn fine attorney and his content sticks to legal things, especially in Canada. He is shadier than an oak tree in summertime and I stan him for it. The other thing I live for with Ian is that he doesnt care if the thing he is talking about falls on one side or another, he shades the hell out of both. He is a lot of fun to watch, especially after a few beers in his livestreams.
The bony little back line really sounds like someone struggling with an ED, as someone who also struggles. Those body checks can be something you're super proud of. Especially in her case as a mid 30s woman with 3 kids. Her being as skinny as she is is like aspiration p*rn to EDs.
YES. she’s always been that way and it’s so disheartening. when i realized my body didn’t look like the ones she praised years ago, it caused me to develop an ED as well. especially considering so many of her fans are so young and impressionable, i truly hate the way she glorifies “being tiny”
To me it sounded more like she was using her ED or a possibility of having an ED to get sympathy. Like saying "Oh you're bullying a person with and ED. Feel bad for me!"
As soon as you start abusing other people, it doesn’t matter what your problem is. You are using it to manipulate someone else. You don’t get empathy, sympathy, or anything partially good. Being a 30 year old with 3 kids. It’s pathetic to perpetuate the abuse, especially on other peoples children.
Runkle is amazing. If anyone could provide concise talking points on this situation, it’d be him and Emily D Baker. So happy they’re both speaking on this.
He knew very little about what happened and criticized Colleen's stupidity and showed where she left herself open and why making that video was such a bad idea. It was brilliant.
Runkle using the "I'm trying to talk sense to you, but I know it won't get through your thick skull" voice when CB talked about grooming her cats was everything.
Corporate lawyer here, I would say "no innocent person hires a defence lawyer" is definitely a missunderstanding of what a defence lawyer is, a defence lawyer's job is to answer a claim (in these case criminal charges) instead of making a claim (which would be defending the people making the allegations). Every day thousands of defence lawyers defend innocent people. That being said Runkle's take down was amazing and it was great to have your insight while watching it!
Agreed, not sure where this mindset comes from lol. Anyone caught in legal trouble would want to hire a lawyer so they have the best defense possible, guilty or not.
Its the naive viewpoint of somebody who hasn’t watched very much “lawtube”, and hasn’t seen all the things that can go wrong if you just try to explain to the cops. Silence and lawyers are the best plan and they go together.
i also didn’t like the whole “defense attorneys will pay off victims to get them to change their story” because that is illegal and any well respected lawyer would not even consider doing that. i’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but if it does they risk throwing away their career and going to jail
Adam, when you talked about being sued, that's civil law, not criminal law. She's more worried about being charged criminally than being sued. She hired a "criminal" defense lawyer.
Yea, there’s civil and criminal and Adam is definitely mixing them together. There is civil defense and criminal defense. Civil has plaintiff and defendant. Civil is sued, and there can be settlements where there are legal payoffs (just to be clear there can be legal ones illegal), settle for a sum of money and sign an nda and withdraw the case from court. Criminal is prosecutor (government) and defendant. Criminal is charged, that’s charge of breaking the law, the authorities charging her with crimes, and there can be deals in criminal too, which would be a plea deal.
One thing to think about too is that you're talking about the united states. Adam is in the UK, there could be charges From both countries. And the UK legal system is completely different than the United States.
I’m so glad you saw this! Ian Runkle knows what the fuck he’s talking about. And he looks like an elf, has lots of swords, and does leather-working. Love the guy ♥️
The best part about this whole thing is that if it got big enough- we would have a courtroom full of people listening to toxic gossip train as evidence
"Is her PR person old enought to have their own cell phone bill?!", I hate to admit it, Adam, but that made me burst out laughing. You're handling all this with so much class. I'm glad you're able to find a little comfort with humor.
another distinction to make is that between criminal and civil actions. a CRIMINAL defense attorney means that she’s worried about actually facing criminal charges. “getting sued” would be a civil action and wouldn’t result in her going into custody, just usually a money judgment.
i think he’s bringing it up because people kept saying adam was going to get sued by here since she was quiet before the video and now she has a criminal defense lawyer so she’s not worried about that rn
Makes me laugh that she fully thought that 'song' would be her swan song and she'd never be spoken about again, yet here we are with criminal defence lawyers breaking down her sh1te.
Can I just note the fact that one of the lines in the 'Toxic Gossip Train' are, "You tied me to the tracks and harassed me for my past." But then in another section she says "Rumors can look like facts if you don't mind the gaps". She completely contradicts herself by basically saying that she did it in the beginning but then says that they're lies later on.
Before that she says So a lot of people are saying some things about me that aren't quite true Doesn't matter if it's true, though Just as long as it's entertaining to you, right? Aren't quite true isn't the same as false, she is trying to say that people are spinning the narrative - something that we are quite used to seeing from her.
My speculation is she did originally retain a regular, entertainment lawyer. What ordinarily will happen is that lawyer will ask the client to be completely candid with them, showing them the full allegations, the screenshots, letting them see the group chats she was still a member of until very recently, etc etc. I suspect that entertainment lawyer, upon seeing the evidence, has said that they do not have the skill set to appropriately support Balinger and has then recommended this new lawyer on the basis of what they've seen and their understanding of the new lawyer's skill set. What is striking is that this lawyer may be very skilled in defending high profile clients against these kinds of charges, but they do not have an understanding of the online influencer industry and are further harming Balinger's reputation in a way that I don't think an entertainment lawyer who specialises in working with RU-vidrs would risk.
That's actually not at all what a defense lawyer does. What you described was whitness tampering and victim intimidation both of which are very illegal. If someone is doing that they're risking being disbarred and major jail time. A defense lawyer's job is to find evidence that their client didn't do it if they're innocent and either get the case thrown out on a technicallity (picking apart their evidence and getting things thrown out) or negotiate a deal for their client if they're guilty.
I was just about to comment the same thing.. literally all corners of youtube have spoken on this situation..all sorta of people from all sorts of backgrounds. .and all agree : Colleen is trash
A defense attorney isn’t there to prevent her being sued per say, but more so there to build a narrative/defense for the person if and when they are being charged and also he’s probably advising her future moves with how she will or will not respond to everything. So if she has gotten a defense attorney they are already discussing everything that has happened and how the narrative could be told in a court of law in as much of her favor/defense as possible IF it goes that far. They are probably going over evidence, timelines, and possible outcomes she could be looking at depending on what criminal charges could arise. I say all that to say that if she has gotten a defense attorney she is aware and very concerned about the real possibilities of her facing charges. ALSO just a side note to defend the defense attorneys of the world if you will, defense attorneys do not “pay off” people. At least they shouldn’t be. That’s 1. Illegal 2. Something that could get them disbarred is found out 3. And could potentially lead to someone involving themselves in perjury in court. Maybe what you were thinking of is settlements where the parties involved agree to an established amount in order for the matter to be settled out side of the courtroom with a usual nda a part of the arrangement
Runkle has had laws changed in Canada through working hard on the defence cases of people who are up against a twisted system. Nothing sketchy there this is a good man and a fine solicitor
Ian Runkle is a fierce lawyer, but a huge softie! We've lost a few in our LawNerd community, Secret McSquirrel-The Mod Goddess, & Captain Kori @KrakentheBox, an 11 yr old UK boy who passed last week after a long, hard battle. We've all taken them hard, but especially Runkle! Someone told him you had made a video & he was worried! He will be so happy that you loved it!❤❤❤
Love Runkle! He is great for breaking down criminal cases and even better for firearms issues. He helped me really understand the key bits of the whole Rust movie tragedy and lawsuits.
@gagecarlsen3872 And yet... he was nominated for a Gundie award for being a Top Voice for the 2nd Amendment... weird. Its almost like you can still be knowledgeable about the things you're passionate about and involved with even if it involves another country's laws and customs. How novel.
Adam I literally love you so much, I can’t believe that Colleen got away with this for so long. I used to watch her videos as a kid and always knew there was something wrong with them but didn’t understand what it was. I’m so grateful that we have people like you that will speak up for what is right when others are too scared to or just not ready. You’re so strong, sending all the love for you, your family, friends, and your pets. ❤❤❤ please stay safe.
@@dabbyabb Engagement brings RU-vid so much money. This situation, because a lot of it is monetizeable, they're able to get their fair share of money from the monetization.
Ayyy Runkle, my man! I'm a LawTube regular and am glad to see Adam reacting to both EDB and Ian. Just wanted to point out, though, that the way Adam described defense lawyers isn't that accurate. It's not about paying off people and that innocent people won't have them. If anything, I think it just tells that Colleen actually understands how serious issue this is (even though she tried to play it off with the song) and how there might be an actual criminal case against her. Even though she said she was just being a "loser", in reality she's taking this very seriously now.
Please give me a little shout out. I’m a 46 year old women, mum of 2 boys 🎉and I think CB needs locking up. In other news, I know this doesn’t define you…. BUT, I love your “Adam” Content with the animals and being who you are. Bloody love you Xxx
Trisha Paytas &/or any of the minor victims would have to press charges for her to ever face criminal charges. Hopefully, that will happen.. along w/ civil cases.
I am pretty sure that at this moment she is still having group chats with 12, 13 year olds. In my country in a case when there are kids under 15 involved the state makes charges automatically. All is needed that just one parent, child or anyone puta such messages ti authorities or to public. If people are adults and we're involved as minors again state will make charges, but on a way to look into current conversations, will search cell phone,pc, videos etc of suspected person and if they find that in present time person is doing same with minors and or kids under 15 that it. Criminal charge goes automatically for corruption of a child and minor, bunch of stuff are added. If there is sexual abuse men suspects often have accidents, female are shunt and isolated from society and comunity even if they don't end up in prison. They got label of paed%phile and that it,.
Victims don’t decide to press charges. Victims file police reports (letting the police know what happened to them) but the police and prosecutors decide to press charges, not victims. Victims can sue in civil court.
Swoop's description of DARVO is a perfect explanation for why Colleen made this video. She's so twisted and deluded that she thought this would be a good idea.
Your casual join in at “ALLL ABOARD!!!!!!” Killed me 😂 ugggh this song is a fucking fever dream. But seriously I’d be crying right now seeing this lawyer react this way if I were her.
A defense lawyer tries to get their client out of criminal charges. She's not afraid of being sued, moreso she's afraid of going to jail. As she should be
Momma Mac ❤ I am so thankful Adam has had your support through all of this. I am sending you prayers on how to handle guiding your Adult Child in this. He has a soft heart, a tough mind, with a sharp wit to make the best Tripple Threat. Stay proud ❤❤❤❤
I’ve keep thinking over the ‘bony little back’ line since the day her vid dropped, and how strange/ out of pocket this phrasing was. She could have said this in so many ways that still fits the song- for example “Stabbed me repeatedly- 1) in the center of my back/in the middle of my back 2) in my tiny little back 3) in my skinny little back But she says ‘in my bony little back’….which is so out of pocket and weirdly specific that it leads me to believe this was an inside reference meant specifically for someone/some people in particular. It wouldn’t surprise me if she’s referencing private conversations with someone who hasn’t yet spoken out publicly. Maybe from the generation of fans in between the cookies and the weenies? Again, pure speculation on my part but I wouldn’t be surprised.

"No innocent person hires a defense lawyer" That's not true. If you are innocent, NEVER TALK WITHOUT A LAWYER. You can be accused of a crime you didn't commit (especially poc, when the police is lazy, they try to put the first person they see in jail.) and you could need a defense, which will be coming from a defense lawyer (public defenders are defense lawyers) Always lawyer-up. You are in more danger without a lawyer than with one (and the cops will try to make you not get a lawyer and say it makes you look guilty, don't listen to them)
Global support for sure! I hate the thought of the survivors having to endure a trial. However! I do believe she DESERVES IT. I believe it could very likely save future kids. Hers included! Of course though: It is fully Adam's choice! I'm completely aware that it is not the survivors job to ensure there are no future victims! It's something so heavy to consider though 😢 Ya'll have all the support in the world! Sending Adam and all the survivors healing energy! Proud of ya'll ✨️🤍

Its my understanding that songs cant be used as evidence. For example rap about murder has not been admitted for evidence in cases when the rapper is on trial for murder bc its considered art and not a confession. So maybe Colleen is even more insidious than we thought
38:45 It honestly still blows me away that Colleen doesn't see that her little 'manic' verse doesnt apply to her, but *DOES* absoLUTEly match what *SHE* did to Adam back when he was 17, after she couldnt keep using him anymore. Utterly gobsmacked. Also, KODEE set all of this into motion recently (2023 for the future crew), *not* Adam, but Colleen is *STILL TO THIS DAY* trying to attack Adam & throw him under the bus, just so she can blame him for everything & feel like the world is just so mean to Colleen! FFS, in the last few weeks alone, she tried to blame a early-teens-Adam for...somehow getting Trish's behind-a-paywall-for-18+-persons adult content & sharing it with Colleen! Riiiight...a 15 year old kid went on Trisha Paytas' "JustForStans" & paid money he barely had for nekkies of someone he had no attraction to, for the purpose of sharing the pics w/a grown adult for the purpose of trash-talking... ...when it's an open secret that Colleen has an acct for Trish's "JustForStans" page & hosts "watch parties" with her friends for the purpose of making fun of Trish *AND* Colleen has already admitted to sending inappropriate messages to her teenage fans. C'mon now, Colleen...😒😬 And that's just one recent instance we actually KNOW of Colleen *still* trying to deflect & blame Adam ( or, honestly, anyone she can pin blame on; she does seem to get a sense of glee from messing with Adam, though); imagine what's going on behind the scenes that we DON'T know about?!
Love EDB and many others lawyers but man Runkles satire is just unmatchable! His bluntness is on a whole new level and I’m here for it. Glad you did this reaction Adam. You almost sound like a lawyer…maybe a new career 😉
He is an entertainment and media lawyer so this means he works in civil law, not criminal law. So he isn’t thinking of this in terms of criminal law. Criminal law is very different to civil law. There are different rules in criminal law, that are much stricter than civil law. Runkle is thinking of it only in criminal defence terms. Runkle does a good job of explaining how clients sometimes are their own worst enemy.

If someone hasn’t yet a real defense lawyer should make a video on what they could possibly even argue to try and make her look innocent I’m so curious
There's nothing they can do to make her look innocent in my opinion, the only thing they can try and explain it away with is her upbringing, how religious and strict her family was and that she was never thought about boundaries etc, go for the sympathy vote basically.
It wouldn’t be to make her look innocent it would be more of a “ how to get a felony charge to misdemeanors” or “ how short of a sentence” type thing ( in my opinion)

no one’s been talking about this, but i just realized how bad things could get for her. if she ever has to go through a custody battle (which after all this, i don’t believe that’s remotely impossible) she will lose her kids. i grew up in and out of family court, and i know all too well how the way that the parent comes off in court is crucially important to winning/losing the custody battle this video puts her true colors on full display. admitting to having inappropriate relationships with children will already make her lose her kids, but the fact that she’s making a seemingly jokey song about it will put the nail in the coffin by demonstrating that she has done the OPPOSITE of taking accountability. i literally lost a parent for way less in court.
