@@oahts5906 Only use the term bc toxic masculinity is a real and demonstrable thing. Maybe it's bc of my behavioural therapy background, but I believe in rewarding good behaviour until it becomes the norm. Right now the norm, at least publicly and in the media, is death and destruction and people being awful. To me, calling out the good stuff and labeling it as good feels li8ke a way of saying "hey all, this is how it's done, and the results are good. You should try it." My son asked them to turn down the music, they had words & was suckered punched. While defending himself with nothing but his hands, a 22 yr old stabbed my baby in his heart. Over some fucking music! To me, it appears that they had an ongoing feud. Murderer was standing there, armed, blasting music or whatever, while facing their door. It appears that he was instagating a confrontation. The son wasn't lunging at him, it honestly looked like he was just trying to get out of the way. Really f'd up. I am glad the murderer will never be on the streets again. I was a soldier in the Australian Army for 20 years. So I am highly trained in useing firearms. When I left the Army I worked in Security for 6 years. I was an armed security officer due to the fact that part of my roll was picking up cash from a number of businesses. In the 6 years I only had to draw my firearm once and that was enough. I never thought of myself as 6ft tall and bullet proof. The very last thing that I wanted to do was drawer my firearm because, once its out, its only going to finish in two ways.

This I grew up with guns, and even enlisted in 07 in US Army in time of war. I don't even feel need to own a firearm. I do want one but I am thinking like a shotgun or something like that if I wanted home defense. I know people with multiple guns who conceal and open carry who never ever drawn on any one and one I do know who has it was a family member by mistake no less. I mean I get with the scissors drawing might be justified ,but he shot him as his back was turned then shot the kid running down the hall away from him, then excuted the dad trying to reach his apartment while shot, that was just brutal as hell when he drew they were going back to their room probally to call the cops and he just unloaded on them.

It sounded like they didn't even have carpet on their floors because we could hear every footstep. Every single night, without fail, they used to drag furniture around (that's what it sounded like anyway) and this would go on for hours. In the daytime there were kids running around, loud bangs like things were being dropped on the floor, doors slamming, etc. Not for one second did me or my partner think about k!lling them over the noise though! The first guy he shoots is turned away from him and appears to be walking away when his wife tries to descalate the situation. He then walks up to the son, whom he shot before, and gives the kill shot at point blank range. Textbook premeditation. Whether he had the gun on him all the time or only for this incident, that is irrelevant to the fact that he brought it to that floor for the purpose of using it. Perhaps knowing he had already thrown his life away having committed double murder, he gets himself killed by NYPD.

There was ongoing complaints because the victims had hardwood floors and walls in these buildings are pretty thin and so are the floors, so he could hear them walking. I think he also may have had dog ears and acute insensitivity to frustration. He did fire fatal shots into both dying victims when they were already on the ground. It does make me feel good to know I've given them a compliment, and they have received it with a smile and "thank you." There are some people who are absolutely "personality minus" and there is NO way you can make them smile. Still, I always like to try to make people feel good about themselves. It's not hard to do and it makes ME feel good too. I was in a large waiting room at a hospital a while ago, and I noticed everyone in the room had their faces in their phones, except the lady beside me. I started off saying to her "how are you today, darl ?" and then commented on how we were the only ones without their faces in their phones. We ended up having a lovely chat. Greeting from Australia.

All I'll say is, having lived in multiple apartments, there are tenants whose noise is NOT just a one time thing. It happens day in and day out. A constant yapping dog, blasting music, yelling/arguing, banging around.. something. Something that happens again, and again, and again, and again. And again. And again. Is it getting annoying to see the word "again" again? I'm done saying that... or am I? Again, and again, and again. Again. Again. Again. Surely it has to be annoying dealing with that. Now imagine that same annoying repetitiveness tomorrow. And the next day. And now you hear it right before bed. And right when you wake up. Even if you try and play your own music or turn on the TV you hear it. Over and over and over still. Again and again and again still. You've called your landlord, they can't do anything. You call the cops, they can't do anything. Eventually, you're gonna start to lose it. I've never gotten violent on someone else in my apartments, or on anyone at all. But one must be able to see how it's possible to lose your mind just enough that there can be that last straw, because your brain is just wrecked and made insane by the constant annoyances that you can't escape in your own home. This could have been an issue spanning a day. Or days. Or weeks. Or very likely months. Affecting them in their own home. Night after night after night after night after night after night, again and again and again and again. And then... someone snaps. I'm just trying to illustrate that this may not have been over "nothing." It could be over something that has been ruining the shooters sanity for a long, long time. You say if it's bad than move, drink scotch or take a walk. 1) Moving right away isn't feasible for many people. Other places may be out of their price range, too far away from where they work, maybe not on a public transportation route. Breaking a lease early can be too expensive with the loss of security deposit and early cancellation fees. It costs money to hire a mover. Maybe they are currently near a relative that they need to help and there's nowhere else close by. 2) Drinking scotch isn't much of an answer. You don't want someone who's annoyed with a gun to DRINK. Scotch is also expensive, maybe they aren't a drinker maybe they are in AA. Maybe they can't drink because they have work soon. 3) Taking a walk may not work because it could be a very dangerous area either because of criminals or there are not good walking options - some areas don't have sidewalks or parks. Maybe it's far too cold or far too hot out to walk. Maybe they just came from work and are far too exhausted to walk. They may have been on their feet all day. And really... doing a walk every time your neighbor is noisy? The noise can last for hours - they're supposed to walk for hours every single day in the freezing cold, late at night, in dangerous conditions... with only HOPE that when they return the neighbors will stop?

I'm sorry that you have to deal with this. What a lot of people are missing by saying "it's just noise" if they've never experienced it is that people can absolutely psychologically torture you with noise. I had a mentally unstable neighbor have a breakdown over 6 months and bang on a shared wall and my front door at all hours of the day and night as well as blasting loud death metal music in the middle of the night. He hit our shared wall so hard several times that it caused items to fall off of our wall, it was truly psycho. The landlord and police talked to him but it didn't help, we created a paper trail but ultimately decided to break our lease early because we had an option of a better neighborhood to move to and were tired of living next to someone who was clearly deeply unwell and unstable. I hope you can sort your situation soon because it really had a big effect on my household and it's an experience we haven't forgotten

Bruce made me smile today. With his message. But also with these cool reading glasses!

The tueller rule which is what you reference is based on how long Tueller, who was a training officer in Utah or something like that, thought it took his guys to draw, aim and effectively fire on target, he thought at minimum it was 1.5 seconds and that's how long you can travel in 21 feet and strike. 21 feet is surprisingly far which is the whole point of the rule, you aren't safe just because the other guy is a few paces away. Edit: And these are trained officers drawing and firing, if you don't have a gun or aren't trained you just need to know that somebody can cover that distance incredibly quickly and catch you off guard.

This was horrifying and heartbreaking. Thank you for breaking it down and thank you for saying what needs to be said. If this makes even one person think twice and a life is saved it's worth every second of this video. I feel so so bad for that wife and mother. Thank you for sharing this Bruce ❤

And I hope she relives it to remind herself not to try to control a man. She made me so mad and if I knew her I would put posters outside her apt reminding her that her grief is all her fault

@@mmnyla The fault lies entirely with the ego-driven angry male who shot them. She was trying to keep her husband from doing something he would regret, he had scissors to that guy's neck and she was trying to prevent something bad from happening. It's not her fault at all that the shooter couldn't control his anger and ego.

Actually seeing the video made the tragedy more real. Felt invested. Watching the woman and kid was heartbreaking.

You’re genuine and realistic in your advice, you’re cool as hell, and you can connect with people of all walks of life. Using your platform to spit truth while also being hilarious is the best. Thanks for the great content.

I can’t agree more about trying to make someone else smile. A little kindness and courtesy towards other people costs you nothing, and can enrich your life immeasurably. If nothing else it might help lower your blood pressure. ❤

I agree with you. You can spread kindness and not hate. For years, I have made and gave away jewelry to people I’ve never met in person except on FB or my RU-vid channel. The messages of thanks and blessings makes it all worth while. You can spread Joy and Hope even with a card or note. Love to you and your son!😊❤️

What a colossal mess! OMG, you're so right, Bruce. All that death, for nothing! So sad for the all loved ones impacted by this.
