I would like to congratulate Amber Heard and her outstanding legal team for the great job they did in restoring Johnny Depp's reputation 👍

Johnny not being in court was the right move. He was there for the entirety but once it went to the jury for deliberation and there was nothing more he could do, he immediately continued to live his life. MESSAGE: I'm not going to let you (Amber) steal any more of my life with your craziness. Johnny has things to do and places to go. Amber has nothing better to do but try to rout out more publicity. So happy Johnny wasn't there to have to be physically near her. Done and over!!!

I honestly think that Johnny knew if he won that he wouldn't see a penny. This was about getting some semblance of his quality of life back.

This isn't the emotional reaction you'd expect to see from a victim who isnt receiving justice, this is much more the reaction of someone unfamiliar with the word no, hearing it for the first time. Look at the hatred in her eyes as she stares down the jurors who "betrayed" her

She admitted so many times of hitting him, AND she admitted writing the op-Ed about Johnny. And the recordings were priceless.

The jury did a good job IMO truly deciding on the evidence that was presented. She claims it’s a set back for women, but her lies actually have hurt true victims tremendously.

The Jury didn’t buy any of her crazy stories one bit. I was so relieved for JD. On a cosmic level, I was afraid of what it would mean if the jury didn’t see the obvious truth. Faith restored …Justice was served.

You would think if you truly went through such horrendous events and the person responsible for your pain and trauma won this type of case after you revealed them, you would be broken, devastated. I mean I would be super upset. Ngl, when the verdict was read and over, I was kinda scared for her sister. She seems to be her punching bag source 🥺

This trial showed how someone like Amber can waste so much time & money when everyone except the media could see that she was lying. I hope to never see another trial like this.

The statement Amber released after the trial leaves her opened to be sued again for defamation. I heard she is appealing. I hope before she does Johnny gets her in court again asap. This is a woman who charged $6,000,000 in legal fees, twenty-seven times couldn't remember to turn on her courtroom microphone, and then lost the case. Of course she wants to appeal . Of all the lawyers in the US, how did AH choose to hire this woman in the first place? 🤔 Thank you.

Finally a genuine expression of sadness on Amber Heard’s face. Definitely not faking her reaction now. She single-handedly set back the momentum gained by the MeToo movement and all survivors of abuse. The worst part is that it never had to happen. Amber Heard received $7 M, tax-free and all she had to do was take the money and walk away. But, she couldn’t keep her mouth shut and wanted to get her 15 minutes of fame. I think the despondent posture is the first authentic emotion we have seen from Amber throughout this case. The breathing changes. We then see her disassociate a bit, probably retreating into her head before finally realizing she needs to "perk up" for the cameras. Really, for once, her expressions seem real and it's almost a relief to see some humanity in her even if what we are seeing is the natural result of the "relief" of no longer sustaining a lie, even if just for a moment. Even if what we are seeing is the natural behavior of someone disappointed in her selfish and harmful goals, at least it's real. Imo.

Wondering if she is actually going to pay, or is she gonna “pledge” it..

This was a just verdict. Bruce is right in that Johnny Depp will probably not collect a dime. He is a rich man. He doesn’t need the money, he needs his reputation back. HE GOT IT!

I find Heards post verdict statement .....“The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband"...is very inflammatory and suggests she will continue to make statements that risk further litigation.

I think Johnny Depp was only interested in clearing his name, and didn’t/doesn’t care about the money. I’d be willing to bet that IF Heard actually paid him, he would give it to charity. I believe he just wants this entire nightmare behind him. As for her, I think she is very dangerous, and I hope Johnny’s security is really on top of this because I do not see her going quietly away. Having followed your videos during this particular case has lead me to look at some of your other videos. What a great way to begin to understand the American legal system.

as a narc abuse survivor, this verdict is everything. this is why everyone is so interested in this case: this type of abuse happens to every kind of person, and it's always the same. as difficult as this trial was to listen to at times, hearing the details was oddly comforting: due to the amount of gaslighting and manipulation that goes on in these types of relationship dynamics, it validates *everything* we know we experienced and it validates *everything* that we escaped from. this is huge.

From an outsider non-American: it was heartening to see a judicial system working at its best. Well-matched and (mostly) respectful lawyers; a judge who was calm and on point; and a jury who came to a conclusion based on the evidence. I’m old enough to remember the OJ case debacle.

I was wondering about that - how come Johnny wasn't present but she was. Thank you for clarifying! She does indeed enjoy the publicity. I also noticed how she carefully chose her outfit - the same top she'd worn on the day she got the restraining order and tipped off the paparazzi. I suppose it was meant as another 'clever' statement of sorts but it just looks like another publicity stunt (or attempt at it) now that things are pretty much out there in the open. Love your commentary on this! Wanted to let you know that one of the jurors spoke out on TikTok about the amount that they awarded Johnny Depp. He said that a few of the jurors, including himself, wanted to give him the full $50 million but they had to compromise on the amount so it would be a unanimous decision. That’s also why Amber won 1 of the judgements because there wasn’t proof that her & her friends did rough the place up & because the second call to 911 wasn’t put into evidence they couldn’t draw any conclusions on it. They didn’t believe Amber Heard, according to him.

DV survivor here. Finally ran from my abuser three months ago. Now going through a brutal divorce and custody fight where he’s telling everyone *I* abused *him*. I know the Depp v Heard verdict has nothing to do with the outcome of my case, but it was somehow incredibly vindicating to hear the jury’s decision today.

I have always thought that allowing television cameras into the law courts was not a good idea. I have changed my mind. I am from the U.K. and now hope that some court cases will be televised. Often judgements by judges have been shockingly controversial and against the publics perception of the case. Not having seen the case, and relying on second hand opinions, not always truthful, has made us suspicious of our judiciary. Having watched this J.P. Vs A.P. case we were right to be suspicious. An opinion was formed by a judge reacting to the MeTo movement. We need tv in our courts. Keep them honest.

During the trial, AH lost credibility repeatedly and to such an extent that I thought the Judge might stop the proceeding and have her psychologically evaluated for her capacity to differentiate the truth from the false perception she was stating - all under oath. I hoped she would be charged with perjury, otherwise the world has seen someone lie under oath with no penalty. You said that some of her lies were proveable; please tell me that someone is going to follow this up with charges of perjury. Or has perjury become normalized?

I also like the put this out. Dr. Spiegel said that he diagnose Johnny Depp from watching his movies, I don't think he realized that the the character of jack Sparrow was based and inspired by Kieth Richards, guitarist of The Rolling Stones. So basically he was diagnosing Keith Richards.

It’s so rare to see such a unanimous blanket verdict to the plaintiff of a celebrity defamation case, let alone in a DV situation in favour of the man. I hope good things come of this.

There's a striking difference in the emotions flying across her face during the verdict versus the expression of pain and sadness she had during the trial.

I started watching this trial because I’m a Johnny Depp fan and I wanted to see evidence that he really abused her. I couldn’t imagine. It’s not like the Johnny I’ve seen in interviews but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. I found out how abusive Amber was. How she manipulates and lies and exaggerates things. She is truly a troubled person. I also was let down by Johnnys language and that he would stoop to her level to engage in arguments with her. But I also see where many times he walked away to get away from the situation and she kept egging it on. It was truly a troubled and toxic marriage. There’s no way it was gonna last. I’m glad Johnny won because I think he proved what a liar she is and how far she will go to set him up. I think she is so up righteous that she didn’t mind committing perjury to get the jury to side with her. The best part was when Camille brought out how Amber said everybody’s a liar but her. Amber thinks she does no wrong and the jury picked up on her attitude. I think she should accept the verdict and let it go. It’s the only way they are gonna be able to move on with their lives. I wish the best for Johnny and I hope she gets some much needed therapy for her lying.

I'm not a fan of Johnny, but no one deserves to be lied on like that and get away with it. The judge was unbiased and allowed the jury to do their job without be persuaded by in a certain direction by the court. The American justice system is beautiful when it works out this way!!!

I sat through the whole trial from the first day (yes I know I'm sad 😀) but it was so compelling it was hard to walk away from it even for a few minutes in case I missed any of the evidence. I've never watched a Johnny Depp film but I've seen short videos on the internet of interviews with him and seen his work for charities. There was just something about him that made him seem genuine whereas Amber reminded me of my sister who was a consummate liar and I went through hell with her for years. She would change her stories from day to day and swear she didn't say what she did the day before. Also AH's acting was atrocious, trying to cry with a screwed up face but produced no tears. Anyone who went through the abuse she proclaimed she did would find it easy to cry reliving the hell they went through. When we were waiting for the verdict it was like being on a knife edge, I didn't realise I'd been holding my breath through all the answers to each question, I nearly passed out at the end as I'd forgotten to breath. 😂

JD'S lawyers were absolutely fantastic and showed it throughout the case.

I'm so happy! I cried , I danced and I kept crying while hugging my 5 year old son ... I survived a DV and sexual abuse ... raising my son who has never met his abuser biological father. . . I am so greatful for this jury and most if all Johnny's Depp legal team! I always knew Amber lied, as a survivor we learn to identify real victims. And I knew from earlier in 2018, that for some reason Johnny was suffering abuse from that relationship. .... cheers to Johnny's life and peace! 🍷❤️‍🩹

I'm happy and thankful that justice has been served. That said, the number of comments I've seen saying "this will set women back years " is ridiculous. I have never ever heard anyone say that about a male r**ist or abuser - ever...because "not all men". Amber maliciously tried to ruin his career and now she is being held accountable. I hope the same passion is brought to abusers who need to pay for their sins.

As the 10k “winner” of a civil lawsuit, I never saw a nickel of the judgement. The other party found it cheaper to just declare bankruptcy and I still had to pay my lawyer. But I won by golly. Johnny will have the same satisfaction.

I do wish you had commented on the judge's final damages awards. Mr. Depp didn't get the full $15 Mil...as per Virginia law, only a max of $350K can be awarded in punitive damages. So Mr. Depp is actually awarded $10,350 Million in damages. Other than that I loved your reactions. Hope you continue on your journey presenting these overviews of future cases. I'm going through a depressive episode and this trial gave me so many giggles but damn it got more depressing than I am. I'm glad I found your channel Mr. CLR Bruce Rivers. EDIT: "it" meaning the trial

My wife and I have totally loved your comments about this trial. You share professional knowledge and wonderful insights on lots of things that most of us are not aware of. Several years ago, I ended up being the foreperson on a jury in a criminal case. The defendant was accused of sexually molesting an 8-year-old. Testimony took a week. We deliberated for two hours and got to 11 to one in favor of convicting. It took another 4 hours to reach unanimity to convict. I realized that the holdout was possibly in favor of convicting but was frustrated with the peer pressure to get on board. It's quite a story how we reached concensus. I'm pretty proud of how I handled this. The night after the trial, I came home and cried for a long time. Partly because of the weight of it all, but mostly because I realized that I was the one who mostly led us to convict, and I knew that beyond reasonable doubt doesn't mean no doubt. It was a heavy burden. I love so much about your insights. I look forward to hearing more from you!

It was actually $8,359,000 because of punity limits of Virginia. It is important to note though, that even with that law, the jury basically said it was THAT bad.

Her lawyers didn't even look at her. I'm sure emotions had to be kept in check, but they didn't even hold her hand or put an arm around her. It clearly felt there was tension amongst them.

What I find most disturbing about this whole episode is that even after this verdict, AH and her lawyers have continued to defame JD and claim that the verdict was wrong and had their messahe amplified across multiple media outlets and all without consequence.

I have the impression that Miss Heard didn't listen much to her lawyers, and that is frustrating, because it makes things harder for that team. She did it her way and get roasted. That being said, I watch JD's concert, and it looks like there was a lot that fell off his shoulders, and that is priceless for someone that is for a person that lived 6 years under attack. So yes, he can watch the future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this trial.

Great analysis of this trial. You're right, it was a lot of fun, but why wasn't Amber charged with perjury? Her lies were ridiculous.

The statement that most made me happy and proud of the justice system was "the statement was false: YES" this proves that the juris doesn't believe AH lies.

She already knew she lost before the jury read the verdict due to counsel approaching the judge to discuss the question the jury had regarding damages. When both sides went back to sit....they each had "tells" that they knew the outcome. Ambers counsel conferred with her and told her. Ben chew and camille grab each others hands sneakily and smile before sitting back down. Both sides knew before the verdict was read. Took the wind out of my sails that i cought that. It wasn't a surprise any longer.
