That ending snuck up on me
Blind Watch - Blindly Watching the best episode of your favourite show with zero knowledge of the events leading up to it.
Why? It's fun.
Thanks for watching. Many other videos just like this one on the channel, subscribe for more.
FBI investigation gone right. Community, quicksilver, mutants, mcu, birds of prey, powerpuff girls, and the it clown Pennywise are all referenced in this one. A revival of the show is apparently in the works, so that's good news for the fans.
Crying for the loss of the children, what an interesting sight. Honestly, I didn't think I looked that dramatic until I saw the recording.
Evan Peters was a nice surprise.

That scene was pretty gut-wrenching, when Steven's parents realized that they just missed finding him alive by one day, after all these years.

Oh, this episode is so horrifying. I think one of the saddest parts was the pictures that Charlie took, honestly. He knew that all of the kids may not survive. But the pictures would at least let people know that they had been there and what happened to them. Also, something I'd never really considered was how the parents didn't even have bodies to bury of their kids(the ones who had kids that couldn't be saved). And then Charlie telling the parents of the boy who died at the beginning that he'd been protecting Amy.

Horrific indeed. The kidnapper actors did a great job.

@@notthemovie They really did. Matthew Gray Gubler directed this episode, interestingly enough. He also directed one starring Brad Dourif. Also, something sort of different from other episodes as well is that we never really get a clear answer as to why they're doing this. They're just awful people. They're unsubs/bad guys you really didn't feel sorry for at all. Unlike Revelations which is a great episode, but kind of a two parter in that the episode before it, "The Big Game" leads into what happens.

This show was so unique in that it wasn't formulaic. They tried to make a spin off Criminal Minds in another city, it didn't take. This was as much about the cast as it was about the content. This episode was special because it was the first directed by Matthew Gray Gubler so it isn't filmed in the same way as other episodes.

Criminal minds stands out from other crime shows for me because they have a different approach in a few ways. The one you mentioned was that they also show the criminals side (tho it varies from episode to episode), there's a bunch of episodes based on true cases and events, and the show is talking about the psychology and reasons behind criminals actions a lot, as well as using logic and profiling to solve cases. Of course a lot of it is enhanced and fictional for drama purposes, but it still makes the show very unique and interesting to me.

actually a lot of times Criminal Minds shows the audience the bad guy. It makes it all the more horrifying because you see what they are doing and how terrifying it is for their victims. But then you see it from the FBI side and what little clues they are left with and it always seems like they will be impossible to catch. Especially since to any normal person their actions are so twisted they seem to make zero sense. Our heroes' job is to find the logic in the behavior to predict the next move and catch the bad guy. It's much more chess-like and a bit darker than most crime shows. But they do a really good job of creating a team of characters you really get invested in

This was the 3rd episode of CM I ever watched. It was part of a rerun marathon and I was laid up in the hospital (ironically, I was in the maternity ward) watching this. The nurse came during the finale and we both broke down at the "he was alive yesterday?" part. 🥺🥺🥺

Its the fact that they never gave a full profile for this pair of unsubs(like they usually do) and that there is no revelatuon of the why that haunts me to this day and its been YEARS. I wasnt even in middle school yet. Furhermore, and no exaggeration, I always end up letting a tear fall when "He was alive yesterday?" Happens. Its devastating.

This episode is pretty much the typical format of the show. So it's good for giving you a sense of what the show is generally like. The other 2 episodes you considered are more standout/unusual (and better, imo). 'Revelations' is about Reid being kidnapped by a killer and the team having to save him. 'Entropy' is pretty much all set in one location where Reid is having dinner with a hitwoman who is threatening to blow up the restaurant.
@notthemovie
@notthemovie 2 года назад
So Reid is the fan favourite then? I saw a meme of Aubrey Plaza's character saying something like "I'll be out in 20 years. I'll remember your name and you won't remember mine." Which sounds cool, but i feel like he's the kinda guy who would remember, right?
@mattsaracen7
@mattsaracen7 2 года назад
@@notthemovie yeah Reid is definitely the favourite and probably gets the most storylines of being in direct danger. Aubrey Plaza is one of the show's few recurring villains. She basically becomes obsessed with outsmarting Reid. And yeah Reid definitely would never forget anything, especially her.

Oddly enough, this was the first Criminal Minds episode I ever saw. I was visiting my parents for the weekend and my mom was watching this episode. Even though I didn't start watching Criminal Minds till 8 years later, and when I saw this episode again I was brought right back to the feeling of horror and sadness in the closing scene.

This episode is absolutely heartbreaking. If you ever plan on doing more reactions I definitely agree with the other person in the comments about 'Revelations'. It's heartbreaking not only for the fact that Reid is taken (which still hurts to watch) but because the unsub is also a very sympathetic character. It's something this show does very well. Because you see the unsubs side, you can see that not all of them are just born evil bad guys. A lot of them are people who just aren't very well, it really makes you feel for some of them. Is what they're doing evil? Absolutely. But you can start to understand why they are the way they are. Sorry for the rant haha. Great reaction!

I think the episode where I sympathized with a person the most is the one where Anton Yelchin (RIP) plays the teen who is having fantasies about torturing and killing women and he goes to Reid for help, but in the end he gets the prostitute alone and pulls out a knife and tries to unalive himself because he doesn't want to be a monster. Reid saves his life but he wonders if he's doomed others to die in the future if the kid can't be rehabilitated.

I love the criminal minds series, I can't watch more than a couple at a time. Because the situations and the people feel real; the team and the criminals. After a couple of episodes it makes me feel sad and depressed. But still the best criminal show ever in my opinion.

I had my own similar situation to you actually! I just got out of elementary school for the day and a family friend came and picked me up. She dropped me off at my grandparents' house which was a common place to go to if my parents weren't home. However I didn't know that the family friend didn't tell my mom she was going to pick me up so when my mom came to pick me up after school my friends told her I got into someone's car. Needless to say my mom started freaking out and she didn't have a cell phone back then so she went to my grandparents house. I heard her yell my name as soon as she opened the door and when she saw me she broke down crying. Afterwards we came up with a password for anyone besides my parents would come to pick us up from school.

I feel like a lot of people enjoy the later seasons of the show but for me the early ones are the best so going to throw a few recommendations out from them s1e2 Compulsion - A horribly inaccurate portrayal of OCD but before I knew better it was a favourite and the general concept and pay off are great s1e9 Derailed - Probably a highly inaccurate portrayal of schizophrenia but lots of interesting visual and directing choices paired with high stakes team drama and what would be hints that pay off later except you already know what they're alluding to which is the genuine network TV experience (I know because I first saw the end of season 1 randomly late at night and watched from there and then only later saw older episodes when i borrowed my friends' dvds) s1e22 & s2e1 Fisher King part 1&2 - The first episodes I saw, excellent two parter i think is best experienced going in blind s2e12 Profiler, Profiled - Centred on a team member and their backstory this one is just straight up good TV and a story I think is important to tell also Theres more but I don't want to bombard you

Oooooh this was Matthew Gray Gubler's directorial debut on the show. Showing the bad guys was something done frequently in later seasons which sometimes worked (which I feel like it did here) but often didn't and made it boring (imo)
