I always thought having the guy that voices Chucky be in an episode about dolls/marionettes was genius!

My only explanation for the dad asking for help is that he couldn’t see the audience really. If the stage lights were on and the house lights were down it’s possible he could only make out vague silhouettes in the audience especially at first.

Where I live (mauritius), there's a channel that shows reruns of Criminal Minds randomly at 1 or 2 a.m. Since I can't sleep, I always make the mistake of watching alone in the dark.

It's been a while since I watched that episode so I could be wrong, but weren't the lights out/dim? It's incredibly hard to see an audience from a lit stage when the house lights are off, so I assume that's why the man asked for help. He would have seen the dark silhouettes of what looked like people--and in his panicked state, at first he probably didn't register that they weren't moving or making sound.

Same reason in other pieces of media an abducted person calls out for help. For even the slightest chance someone will hear even if nobody is really there.

The dislocation scene was very hard to watch, made me physically cringe.

They assume it’s a “he” because for that kind of crime, it statistically is almost guaranteed it is, at least by the show’s rules/world

Oooo it's been a while since I've watched Criminal Minds so a lot of the episodes blur together or fade from memory, but this is one that has stuck in my brain. I know I'm not the only one because I also remember at least two separate occasions during high school when I overheard other classmates talking about how incredibly disturbing this episode was! Edit: Actually I realize one of those occasions, they were actually talking about a DIFFERENT episode of Criminal Minds, where the victims were turned into dolls, not marionettes. Turns out there are multiple viscerally upsetting episodes in this series...

I think he asked because the spotlights blinded him a little bit and there could’ve been people mixed into the audience with the dolls

I don’t really like this era of the show, but this is a good episode

I started watching this a couple of months ago and was horrified when he dislocated the girls arms and I stopped watching. It's disturbing that this is on tv and people are desensitized to violence. To make matters worse I later came across a video where someone found a cat with it's shoulders dislocated: it's front legs sticking up. The vet said that someone had done it to him. How possible is it that someone saw this episode and decided to try it on a cat? I don't hold out much hope for our society.

May i suggest you to watch episode 14 of season 1 of criminal minds, I watched it recently and the plot is very interesting!!

Great... this episode is so nauseatingly creepy, I need to go watch a funny Buffy or GG episode.... I don't think going for a walk at 11p.m would be a good idea. Speaking of, series like these remind me that we should have some sort of self defense tool at all times.

I would love to see a reaction of Cobra Kai season 2 episode 10 if you have the time.
