The “summer movie series” at Mega Churches. I’m a Pastor. I preach 2x a week. I take literally hours upon hours to you know STUDY what it says and means. It’s hard work. Rewarding? Absolutely! I’ll say this, if you are not willing to do the hard work of Hermeneutics , read the original language, theological studies etc.. GET OUT OF THE PULPIT

This is all from Andy Stanley script book actually. I used to attend a church affiliated to Andy's which did something similar and got tired of this nonsense.

He should have taught about sin and conviction this is absolutely insanity. I’ve seen sermons were movies were mentioned briefly to warn or to teach and it was made the highlight of a sermon.

I compared two 25 minute sermons, one by Joel Osteen then one by his father John Osteen and here is what I discovered: Time spent preaching scripture and truths based on Scripture Joel - 3 minutes 7 seconds John - 25 minutes Guess which one was more powerful? Just preach the Bible folks!

The fact that a supposed man of God, who SHOULD know that scripture inside and out, and understand the large majority of it, THINKS that a children’s movie who is made by one of the most evil industries in the world, IN one of the most evil towns in all the world, is a better teaching tool, and a more interesting story than you’d find in scripture? Can we even say we are made in the image of God? Adam and Eve were clearly made in the image once sin entered we then came to be through the punishment of Eve. She had to go through childbirth no longer are we made by God out of dust but through human intercourse. The image isn’t the body anyways it’s the spirit man that was the image of God. No man knows what God looks like because no man could and will never be able to look upon him until the end. We only get he is likened into a man. It isn’t about what he physically looks like but what his nature is. When Adam and Eve brought sin into the world the likeness was tainted and we no longer have that built into us but we must strive to be it
