In case no one wants to look them up Blast Wave: Reward from Mission 3-3-6 Hell Blizzaga:Chests in Mission 2-3-1, 4-4-2 and 6-4-2. Hell Firaga: Chests in Mission 2-3-1, 4-4-2 and 6-4-2. Hell Thundaga:Reward from Mission 2-5-2 . Note: You can buy the spells from the Wutai shop but idk when you unlock that. And you can fuse vital slash(M) + libra (M) to get blast wave.

Also one thing to note and I Don't think it was said in the video but after the grinding DO NOT abandon the mission as you will lose all progress done in that mission as I learned while doing a mission where I leveled up in a battle but the boss was too hard and I gave up on it then that level I got disappeared in the main game.

Disclaimer- you will NOT level to 99 in less than an hour. That being said, defeating Scissors is still a great way to farm exp. I used 8-6-5 instead bc of the higher spawn rates and went from level 69 to 99 in about 2.5 hours. I would consider these two zones mid to late game farming as you have to beat the higher level Bahamut Fury to access them

After investigating a few other missions I found that mission 9-5-3 worked amazing for leaving up managed to get atleast 2 scissor devils every fight sometimes 3 and if i didn't get one I always got atleast 1 three star so that helped with my SP farming as well, Wouldn't have figured this out without you and I've leveled up so much in such a short time!

This is coming in handy especially with how rusty I am from not playing the OG in so many years, thank you; definitely would of saved me hours of grinding had i known this back then 👍

Isn’t 8-6-5 better for this? It spawns Scissors much more frequently. Why 8-6-4?

This guide helped me out quite a ton. I was even able knock out both Scissor monsters at once with the Blast Wave at a few instances.

Seriously doubting this takes less than an hour to reach lv99. This sadly sounds like clickbait. For being currently farming there, I only went from lv68 to 71 in 30 minutes. The method works well though, but it will take way longer.

Also in 8-6-4 bring darkness with you, and just one shot the whole group of Garnet Moles that way you can farm AP Mako Stones, and its quicker then fleeing plus its just more exp to add to the pool.

I think you should also mention that after you have defeated lots of Scissors, you should chill at M1-1-1 and let the DMW spin to level you up etc., and also that I believed M8-6-5 has much higher rate for spawning Scissors.

tried to follow your other vid about being overpowered early, and got the electrocute spell, which makes easy work on those garnet moles so you dont have to skip them. Electrocute usually nails 3 to all 4 at once, and if one is leftover, blast waves work on it too. makes it easier to not have to skip so many fights, other than the hippogriffs.

It took a minute but I finally got everything. It’s hell to get the resources so I’ll just leave this here M7-5-5 gives you blast wave (almighty push) M7-5-6 gives you the Wizard bracelet Mog bracelet you can buy from the sec7 shop it’s at the very bottom (Try to get as many shops as possible) M7-4-1 you get twisted headband Unfortunately from where I am (chapter 4 after *spoiler alert* slums on the bridge or highway) you can’t get jeweled ring I did some research but it looks like you don’t get it till later in the game. (Correct me if I’m wrong I actually need this too lol) HP up is in some chest and all the hell agas as well best advice is to just keep looting. Loot everything. Some ez tips for M7-x-x get the Get protect ring and Twisted headband as fast as you can it REALLY HELPS with with these bosses and to put things in perspective-- I got everything NOT using hell aga materia so you don’t need it just play like your playing final fantasy..or demon souls..or elden ring…or God of war on God war difficulty with no NG+ I promise you it does get easier! Good luck! ------- Also to lvl up materia best farm spot I found on YT is M1-1-1 just throw in as much health as you can and let the game do it’s thing with the DMV it’s kinda AFK farming but it does work

Also good to remember the curse ring prevents the DMW from spinning so you can stock up those levels a little easier.

this does not take less than an hour I set up a stopwatch and it took me an hour and six minutes just to get from lv76 to lvl84 Still an effective strategy though.

Well... it's not even close than "less than 1 hour". In 1 hour, insta killing everything in this spot, I've gone to Lv 71 to 78... so... it will take a loooong time

While it would be fun to level up early, i would suggest waiting until you acquire the buster sword to start doing these levels. You can go into battle stance before you do the blast wave and you'll almost always get proficiency.

You can do it at chapter 3. Just have all the best item of the game. Lol

I was thinking the same thing, because you have to beat mission 8-5-6 to access the 8-6 path. How are you people beating a 7 star bahamut fury mission below level 25.

I wish people would comment on how accurate this strategy actually is. Does it work? Yes it does (Sort of...). Do you get to lvl 99 in Less than an hour? Hell NO. You get a level around every 10 to 15 min. It took me 4 and a half hours to level from 65 to 99... (the last levels were very grindy) So it'll take you a while to get there. It's a good strategy to make bank though.

If you are trying to specifically beat Scissor Chitins, they are guranteed to appear in 2-4-2

How do I know when I have enough EXP?

DISCLAIMER: this method is hard to get under 1h. Between the Hypogriff and the Garnet creatures, you have 1/3 chance of having the right creatures spawning. The RNG is so bad that you seriously need to have really good luck to have constantly the scissors creatures spawning. I'm doing exactly this method and I'm close to 3h from level 20 to 99, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it's a grind...a safe one but one regardless.

Definitely enjoy the guide I took this guide put on a wizard bracelet and I put the accessory on that puts wall on forgot what it's called and just afk and just let them heal me then hurt me so thanks would not have figured this out without your help

As others have states several times already, this isn't a great method of farming as the video implies. The enemies don't give as much XP as stated, attempting this with levels as low as even 45 is insanely risky and unless you actually finish the mission, everything you earn is lost.

so is there a downside to go level 99 ? like you cant get other things you need or want or something?

This absolutely doesn’t work. At least not at low levels. I’m 31 and Not sure how I could be screwing this up but my blast wave isn’t knocking them out of the area. It’s doing 9,999 which is nice but defeats the purpose. Have to hit the scissors like 5 times with that. And if you don’t knock 1 out instantly they just take turns spamming their magic

And another one more thing. I got 13 levels in an hours. 47-60. So this is not no 99 levels in an hour.

To get battles run in the middle if you on the sides enemies won't spawn.

Great vid, really helpful. Quick question to clearify, if the theory of the method is to gain so much exp you force the game to give you lv ups, why only target the spider looking things? Could you just kill every random encontour that spawns on this two areas?

Scissor Chitin give only 5,460 EXP, you need to kill Scissor Devil for 11k EXP, which is in mission M9-5-2 - Further Below & M9-5-3 - Unusually Strong Monsters

This isnt really available early... you wont even hit level 20 normally until you're in chapter 4 and the 5 star missions at that level are a nightmare, 6 star are basically impossible without a hell spell and status ward which i have zero idea how you get at this stage of the game without doing the missions that are basically impossible without them lol

I tried this but the claw enemies almost never spawn, all the enemies kill me quickly - including the claw ones, and I'm over level 50. Watching your video and then trying myself are two totally different things. There are also griffin enemies that kill you in a few hits and are immune to the blowback technique.

So you tell us how to get the EXP for 99 but then tell us we'll miss out on a trick if we do it? What's the trick? I don't see a video for it...

So, you can actually double dip while doing this to increase Buster Sword Proficiency! Proficiency is increased by Guarding Damage, using the Stance Power Attack, or most importantly here: Using Yellow Command Materia from the Guard Stance. So add a couple of seconds, Guard Stance, then Blast Wave to add Buster Sword Proficiency while you Power Level.

I’m at the end of chapter 8 and I was getting by on just very few missions. Do I just have to do missions to get all this materia?

I'm doing this tactic for 6 hours now and "just" level up from 36 to 70. So don't know if the DMW hates me or if less than a hour pretty optimistic

Snap! When I first played the psp version I got level capped around 70 something cause no matter what I would do or what guide I followed I could not level up. I beat almost all missions except the secret missions and of course minerva and when I did new game plus hard mode I got to the last chapter and the battles would last 30 minutes it felt like because I kept getting one shot. Instead I made a fresh save on hard and I was able to get level cap. No idea what happened with my og save

I just grinded out the missions early on and equipped Curaga with HP+ infused. After doing a good amount, I was able to unlock shops with Hell materia and quake and graviga. Also equipping accessories with hp mp and damage limit break to go over the 9999 limit. I was level 29 with over 20k hp and 10k mp. Rest of the story was a breeze. I was able to get all this done by chapter 4.

I think its better to do it on ch4. The difference is not much because it is unlocked quite late of chapter 3
