2020 has been a game changer for Travel Nurses during the pandemic. From the unpredictable COVID-19 virus and daily work environment changes being on the frontline hasn’t been the easiest! This video will list the agencies offering crisis rates for COVID-19 assignments whether you’re an L&D nurse or Med Surg Nurse . I’ll be dropping the agencies paying the most for nurses. I am currently in an assignment with one of the above agencies. I do work 6 nights a week. I had never worked nights and it’s a breeze for me. I am so proud of myself, and yes, 10K a week ma’aam!! 🙌🏽

To first time travelers; When you apply for crisis jobs you must be willing arrive at the location within 24-48. Don’t apply with a recruiter unless your ready! It might not be as hard as you imagine. Some companies hire ahead of time and you might get an easy assignment. In any case the assignments are normally short so if it is rough it won’t be for too long. Most likely you have been putting up with a similar workload in your area and not getting crisis pay for it!

Some hospitals, like mine, would be sunk if amazing people like you were not willing to put things on hold to help. I imagine it is harder to get the same, location based, experiences you normally would with things shut down. Thank you for all you do! #SimTribe

When they say weekly, is that only 3/12s? I’m applying to do local travel and the weekly pay isn’t that much, but the per hour rate is more. That means you’re working 5-7 shifts per week for that weekly rate. Just be aware!

Thanks for mentioning that! Yes most crisis assignments aren’t 36 hours . They are 48 plus. Be sure to ask your recruiter the required hours per week. T

Yes, most of these crisis rates are for 4-5 shifts per week. I am on my first travel assignment and it’s 4/wk. It is definitely doable. You got this! You have us supportive travel nurse friends to cheer you on! 👏🏻👏🏻

So sorry to hear about your first contracts getting cancelled and having some bad luck 😔 Which program are using for editing your videos? For some reason your sound varies a lot. Hey girl, are these rates only because of rona? I’m in the last semester of Nurisng school and I have to have a year before I can start travel Nurisng and I’m afraid they won’t be paying this much by then.

You can always get jobs at covid testing sites or vaccine sites. Those spots are definitely taking new grads.& and the vaccinations are just in the beginning stages so I think they’ll be here to stay for a while.

Thank you for sharing. I want to do crisis, I'm just concerned with taxes. How do you make sure that your not owing the IRS at the end of the year 🤔?

I’d think you’d still have to fill out forms for taxes held from your check. The only thing is that from my understanding when you do your taxes you would have to do one for each state you worked in

Invest in your own mask, bring bleach wipes, and be an advocate for yourself and the availability for PPE.

I worked in Texas for the past 4 months. Wear your mask in every room and not just known Covid rooms......as well as around the employees. A positive person is not always symptomatic. Be safe and congrats on getting the assignment.

thank you so much for this info! I have been thinking about trying out krucial but I have been hearing how so much of your paycheck goes to income tax. Do you have any experience working in states that do not have income tax vs. those that do with krucial? I would imagine it would be more beneficial to be deployed to a state without income tax right?

States with lower income taxes rates would leave you with a little more money in your net pay, but unfortunately some of the states with no state income tax are “tougher” nursing states. It is important to look up tax rates before assignment. I always try to find out my NET pay before taking assignment, so then you really know what you’ll be walking away with. Important to consider your opportunities to stow away money before taxes i.e. (tax deferred 401k, HSA, and FSA accounts).

I'm so sad I missed this bag. Sucks I graduated during the pandemic. Travel nurse at my job was making 13k a week. She was working 6 12s a week but it's worth it

So worth it. Regardless of what the pandemic offered , nursing is still a rewarding career and travel nursing still has some amazing contracts . Your time will come boo

Currently there is no ratio for crisis in cali

Right now, Governor Newsome allowed a waiver of the law for ratios after the December surge. My girlfriend and I are on assignment in Southern California now. Personally, we have only had to go out of ratio a hand full of times, but out of ratio in Cali is 5-6. Other states that is the norm. Although it is busy, it is manageable, so don’t let that discourage you from taking an assignment here! 😌

I did two L&D crisis assignments unfortunately those assignments were canceled due to funding but try Prolink, NuWest and Angel Staffing! Also follow L&D job board uncensored on FB for contracts with high rates

Which is very helpful. I’ve been looking into Sonders and Zeus while I determine where I’d like to go first.
