@@buneneman1901 i watched the last season and belive me, i would erase it from my memory if i could. But yah, if Cristina was still on the show it would make it better, she was my favourite too!
I stopped watching after she left no offense but at this point everyone’s leaving and they are just trying to come up with things that don’t even make sense anymore the shows just too chaotic and dramatic now
my favorite part is the fact that owen told her she wasn’t the sun, everything didn’t revolve around her. she took that and spinned it into something else 🥰
@@sophia-ki2kt Wow I didnt catch that! Love that for her, I'm glad she spinned it for me and she probably applied to herself aswell which is why she didn't hesitate to leave owen! such a great character
I need to rewatch that season because even though I love the line and Mer is right to fight for her own rights and yes Derek has always been egoistic, I always wonder if that is the best advice for a relationship. Obviously its not healthy to have a one sided relationship but if both parties are like 'You are not the sun, I am' then isn't it doomed because nobody ever wants to compromise. Maybe that line just applies to certain situations like MerDers.
@@leahwilliams4401 basically after plane crash happened some people were dying, some people were screaming, meredith thought she lost both her sister and her husband. because of the moment of shock and affect of her PTSD the only thing cristina could focus was her shoe; while others screaming for their dear life.
@@leahwilliams4401 because it was delivered by the one and only Sandra Oh. The acting was brilliant. Another thing, the plane crash was a tragic and heartbreaking scene but Cristina managed to add humor to it because of that iconic line. The tension was so high but Cristina's humor allowed you to breathe a little and crack up. Meredith was like "Where is Derek? Derek is dead" and Cristina was just "I dont care/know, I only have ONE SHOE"
@@colorfulanimals2077 Lmao they said she is iconic but took a few extra steps 🤦🏽♀️ sometimes I wonder if people actually read and comprehend something before they comment
Gen z girl here, I watched that episode the other day. My sister ( a millennial) who was watching this with me turned and said "She acts like you when people cry a lot. Like me, I'm people.". 💀💀
She would of been better if she didn't attempt marriage. Commitment to staying independent of a man, and not getting married when she dates says, "I actively choose to be around you; not because I feel some government obligation."
@@antithoughtpolice7497 I think her getting married is the right choice, story-wise, cause it brought out a lot of great storylines for her character and then realizing at the end that her one true love is cardio.
@@catelynxxi Then, they should of done it once and kept her from Fitz. The first guy (I forgot his name) was enough to get the point across... Especially that time he saw her apartment.
Since Sandra Oh left the show took a hard punch. They didn't want people to get bored so started making several bad decisions for the sake of drama: they divorced Japril, ruined Callie and brought back characters who had a good closures just to fill up episodes, like Teddy.
@@annies6566 Karev leaving is the biggest F off I've ever seen. He must have really done something to tick off the writers to make them give him that horrible of an exit.
Ugh I can’t believe THATS how they got rid of his character like they ruined everything they built up for him, his whole character arc it would have been better if they just killed him like Derek I stg
I always loved Izzie and Alex. Shonda wrote her out badly and never forgave Katherine Heigl because she gave her role bad press. But Izzie was a damn good character to start with and Katherine played her to perfection
‘Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be better than anyone here. And don’t give a damn what anyone thinks. There are no teams here. No buddies. You’re on your own. Be on your own’- Cristina Yang’s wise words
@@ruby7492 Yep mine ended in a crying jag. My little dog was very sick and I was trying to find something she would eat. Also I think the dog food we had had soured because none of our dogs would eat it.
Christina Yang is the BEST character on Grey's - most motivated, and dedicated. She evolved so much during the series. BEST one-liners, and sense of humor. No question :) And THANK GOD, Shonda Rhimes did not kill her off!! I F**KING love Yang! Edited to say: She is gorgeous !!!
This reminds me, they really did kill off most of the people. Why not just make them leave through some job opportunity like Christina? That seems more realistic.
@@windshieldlaugh7411 They really did. Sucks. Derek, George, Lexie, Mark, DeLuca, Adele...the list is endless LOL. Some didn't at least like Christina - Callie, Arizona, April, Jackson, Alex (hated Alex's departure - ugh). But yeah, they killed way too many!!
@@amycaitlyn1120 you left off Dr. Burke's character. he was excellent with all the interns. I loved him and Cristiana. I stopped watching when he left in season 3. I am happy they did not kill him off Burke's character. i saw clips where he gave Cristina a big opportunity when she left the hospital
@@carlenegonzalis3542 Yes, that is how they didn't kill off Christina lol. Burke came back in Season 10, and offered to give her the entire Institute and Cardiology Research program he runs in Switzerland, because he wanted to leave and spend time with his own family. I liked Burke too, but I didn't like how he took away from Christina in terms of making her lie for him after the shooting. When he still had the tremor in his hand, making her sacrifice parts of herself to him - forcing her into marriage (we all know her career is the number one thing for her). I know she grew from that later, but still. He was a good, complicated character for sure, though. You said you stopped after Season 3. You never saw her with Owen Hunt then LOL. I think that was a much deeper connection. Though very tumultuous for many reasons; like Burke he wanted things from Christina that weren't her. Hunt wanted a family. Yang did not. No one seems to respect that her sole focus was cardio surgery and her pursuit to be the best. But Yang and Hunt had amazing chemistry. I can't stand Hunt's character now, meaning in the current seasons.
She is a weird one to categorize. She can go from watching you burn alive with no cares to being the person slowly putting you back together. And both seem genuine. Once she lets you in, she protects you.
fun fact: sandra improvised the “this message was brought to you by the harper avery foundation” line! that’s why ellen was laughing so hard 😂😂 makes it one of the most iconic to me
I find the "I ONLY HAVE ONE SHOE" so relatable, like I found my grandad dead, called the ambulance etc. The paramedics came and tried to ask me some questions, but I was like "you'll have to wait, I need to feed my dogs". Idk why, I think your brain can go really weird in a stressful situation and you hyperfixate on stuff that's super random
Agreed; I’ve had a similar experience. People with a more logical brain/personality tend to cope with traumatic experiences by hyper focusing on something completely unrelated that is within your power to do (like feeding the dogs); it reminds you that you have some control, while your subconscious tries to process the problem.. I clean 🙋🏽♀️ as soon as something bad happens, my house becomes completely sterile 3 times over 🙃
now it’s only grey lol I can’t even understand why other people hate mer, izzie, derek, cristina, karev, callie, george, arizona lol they’re the original cast
Christina shaped me as a young girl. Growing up with a mother who can’t stay alone and will never leave her toxic relationship. I loved this strong female character who didn’t take shit, put herself always first, could still love others fiercely and was extremely loyal to her close inner circle without being stepped all over! She inspired me and was a good role model. She is still one of my favourite characters ever on TV.
Christina was literally the ✨main character✨ i hate how they literally got rid of the good characters (SPOILER ALERT) like mark, christina, alex, lexie, george, april, teddy, derek, callie, arizona... its like as the show went on they took out most of the characters that literally make the show better. and the fact that they made alex go back to izzy and leave his wife is so wrong like i was rooting for them.
The actors wanted to leave because of some reason or the other, and....at this point the show NEEDS to ends being dragged on and its not even entertaining anymore
The reason they got rid of Derek is because the actor pissed off Shonda Rhymes royally by cheating on his wife with either a makeup artist or a side actor on the show I can't remember which. That's why she killed him off.
Grey's Anatomy stopped being the best show on air when Sandra Oh left. It'll never be the same without this icon. That's the reason why I never watch after season 11, cause Grey's Anatomy ain't Grey's Anatomy without Yang
“He is very dreamy ,but he is not the sun, you are”. I will forever love that line and how it references back to what Owen said to her. Just want to add that Christina deserved better then Burke and definitely way better then Owen.
she slayeeeddddd that role! i was angry when she left but looking back it was the perfect time for her to go. she left on a high note, it was probably the best and most memorable character ending of the whole show.
As a member of the dead dad’s club, finding out Christina was a member made her entire character make sense. I finally got her, and ESPECIALLY her humor.
“Have some fire be unstoppable be a force of nature be better than anyone here and don’t give a damn what anyone thinks there are no teams here NO buddies you are on your own BE on your own” this is what I needed
I love Cristina. "If there's no food I am going home" "His name is Mr. Bear. He eats children." "Also the automatic paper towel thingy won't recognize me as human. I'm just standing there waving my hands like an idiot." "Should I sleep or should I shower? I could sleep in the shower. But I'm also starving."
“Why are you defending her? She went to state school” “So did I” “She’s skinny and blonde” “So is Mer…” “She’s annoying!” “So are you!” I’ve always loved that scene it’s so cute, it’s so long ago though… I miss when it was Cristina and Alex and everybody 🥰🥰
I can't think of any other TV character who had such a big impact on who I am as a person now like Cristina Yang. She was the reason I stayed motivated and ambitious throughout all the years, she was and is still such an inspiration. I adore Sandra Oh and am so grateful she gave us Cristina.
1:47 im sitting over here dying oooo Chile that got me dead ooo I one seen it like a thousand times and it never gets old oooo thats my q to go to bed ooo its to late for this
My absolute ALL time favorite line: "His dreamy, but you're the sun." Drops mike. That scene, defines everything about them. Your friends will always remind you when you have forgotten the most amazing parts of yourself.
The only way that the producers would be able to save the final season is to have Cristina come back for at least like 10 minutes on screen. We just want one last mer and Cristina dancing it out. And Sandra said recently she would be upset if she wasn’t asked to come back for the final episode.
Sandra Oh is amazing, the way she played christina so well makes me miss that character so much as if she was a real person lmao. I will watch any & every role she plays just because it's Sandra Oh & she's is great at what she does.
