"You can't do fast food half as good as I do" might be a 'basic' line, but it's also well-crafted. The basic-ness of the words being said and the message being delivered doesn't take away from how well the line flows, and matches the rest of the verse.

First of all, another great analysis! Heya Matt! I commented a while back asking about what you thought about certain rappers and which one was the best out of all them. See, I was talking with some of my friends, and I wanted to ask if you about what makes a rapper influential, the one talking about as of now is Kid a Cudi. See, you probably know who he is, but I wanted to ask if, due to his inconsistencies and some saying he got carried by Kanye West, really the poster boy for mental health as well as the sing/rap lord that some make him out to be. His subject matter is rather simple, and his rhyme scheme is nothing to run home about, so what do you think?

Thanks! Don't know much about Kid Cudi personally, but the reason I dislike modern rap is because much of its success comes from the "vibe" of the person. Either their entrancing personality that gets people hype, or lack thereof that makes people empathize with amoral depressing behaviors. "I dont care, hand on the wheel, driving drunk and doing my thing..." Tapping into the modern apathy of millennials

Hm...I don’t dislike modern rap at all actually, discounting the mumble rappers. See, I personally am a fan of modern rap and do like analyzing the culture it’s given. While Kid Cudi doesn’t have an amazing rhyme scheme and isn’t a technical as a rapper, I wanted to ask if you would still consider him one because of him and his influence. People such as Kendrick, Logic, and Sean definitely do add some more diversity to the modern rap chain as well. This leads me into Cudi. His subject matter is repetitive a lot, but it’s the way people consume his music that really helps, not just his personality. The world didn’t know who he was until he made an appearance on 808’s and Heartbreak, another controversial album that influenced most of the way rap had evolved today. Keeping Cudi’s influence in mind, I think this discussion could be taken a bit further as well, going deep into the question of “Can content and technicality be replaced with one another?”
