My father in law aged 93 was rushed to hospital with a ruptured aortic aneurysm. Doctors told him they could operate with a very slim chance of survival. Also a great chance he would end up in a coma. He didnt want an op. He was made comfortable and died surrounded by his family. His last words were him singing "happy days are here again" clearly the meds were kicking in but he literally fell asleep and left. My young son was there and it helped him to process the death.

Girls I’m so very sorry about your mum. I’ve been in your exact position with the same outcome. The only difference is we didn’t know mum was so sick. It was a big blow. You’ll never get over it, I won’t lie to you, but you will learn to live with it over time. It’s awful losing a parent I don’t care what age you are. I still yearn for my mum and dad and wish I had them to talk to. It will be alright. You do have each other. My prayers for your mum and you and your families.❤

I think the daughters immensely love their mother and they know what's best for her last bit of happiness. It's possible that they know that she would be frightened and they didn't want her last hours to be that way and maybe they have enough faith blind faith that they know she'll being a better place. I think they did their best

Rose and her family hit a string with me remembering my great grandma and her passing. All it took was a fall and a hurt shoulder. My oba was doing pretty good but being on morphine made her spine feel agonizing for some reason. My grandma was worried sick and took her in after and they didn't grow up together. She was stressed and gave her mom nonstop medications and snapped at anyone who told her no. So my mom had to tell her "You are killing your mother" because she was doing treatments at home, with a good heart, but forced my oba into a painful coma. That was how she died, a broken shoulder turned into a coma at the house when she didn't need surgery and just needed rest. And it was all because her daughter panicked and never let anyone help because that is her mother.

I think Rose knew, especially when she looked at one of her daughters a long time, she knew it would be her time soon. As for telling her she was going to die, what would she have felt like? I know I wouldn’t like to be told I was dying. Too many things would have been spinning around in my mind, and would be pointless.

I work in healthcare in the ED and 29 yrs later still see family members fighting about keeping their loved one alive eventhough we should let them die with dignity...I absolutely hate when family members want to lie to their loved one that is struggling bc I truly believe they know they're not doing well and even know they're dying...torturing people is brutal for healthcare staff...unless you have done CPR on an older person(anyone really)you have no idea how traumatizing it can be for everyone involved...people need to discuss death and dying when they're younger than wait until it is critical...wish our doctors in the US could be like the UK doctors regarding life saving conditions.

They should have told their mother she was dying, my mother knew and told me she doesn't want to be alone so we all took in turns of doing 6 hour shifts and she called us in one by one cos she had things to say to us. Maybe Rose had things to say but they will never know.

I also think they should have let all her children come to see her! I would be very angry if that happened to me! They could have just told her that because she never went to the hospital before they just had to see her. And most people know when their time is coming. The doctor should always be honest with the patient and not the children!

That’s what my sisters and brother did when my mom had days to live. I lived in another province in Canada and they knew that my health wasn’t good so they just allowed me to talk to mom over the phone, but I was so grateful you didn’t have the time to do that. Our mom knew six days before she passed away that she was dying. She was 84 and felt that she had lived a very good life and lived a long life.

I called my siblings to come in because I knew Mom was going within a couple of days. None of them came. I called a second time, none of them came. I called the third time and told them she was getting really close; none of them came. The fourth time I called was to tell them that she was gone. This was over the course of 28 hours. They were all mad because I didn’t tell them she was so close. It’s easy to blame the child who was appointed by parents years ago to be the power of attorney. Nobody likes the “power hungry” one, even when they’re not power hungry and have shared everything over the years, even had them help in the decisions. I got so sick of it.
@mfraye12
@mfraye12 3 месяца назад
I generally agree that it’s better that they know. But, the doctor agreed that telling her she’s alright may be a good decision since anxiety can make breathing worse, and she still had a chance to improve.

I'm sorry for your loss hun,it's ok to have the feelings that you have, we all do things differently but none are wrong I guess, my sister was five minutes to my mom but didn't go over because she just saw my mom ,my mom always answered the phone when we called if not not long after. Youngest sister called twice didn't no answer told other sister, they just thought she was tired. She had a massive stroke and was sitting upright for thirteen hours. Yes I wished I was there,so much more I could say to help but if you need to say a few words you can tell me here,I hope nothing but the best for you,blessed be

Your last act was to lie to your mother about her own health. I could see that when she looked at Miss Divorcee, after tears had been shed; She KNEW then what all 3 of you were up to, so you didn't fool anyone.

Most A&E in the world are so overworked. I don't know if it's entirely a lack of beds and staff, lack of money both for the hospitals as well as the patients who cannot afford to see their GP. I also believe that the public have been desensitived to trauma by way of films and real life tv shows so they take on more and more dangerous lifestyles
@sarahsnowe
@sarahsnowe 3 месяца назад
@@paulaisaac8082 It isn't. The new Labour gov't is trying to turn things around. However, people need to take more responsibility for their health (by not eating junk, for a start) and the gov't needs to take action against junk-food corporations, subsidize healthy food, and teaching nutrition from the earliest school years.
