Same here. I’ve been working my way through Dan’s whole playlist and have yet to get through a song without going back again and again during the best parts. When I first heard him sing Burn Butcher Burn I must have listened to that epic scream a dozen times. Dan is just that good!

Dan is as glorious as ever, putting the perfect quantum of metal into his vocals, and his occasional goofiness adds a unique charm that I really enjoy.
Been a fan of Dan's for a long while and I hesitated for so long to watch this (and his other Queen covers). Queen is my childhood, my holy grail of music if you will, so I didn't want my fondness for Dan diminished by a bad or even mediocre cover of this song. When I finally watched it - unintentionally, it played on autoplay - I was pleasantly surprised. My reaction was much like yours in fact, scrutinizing every second. The video editing, sound layering, and his comedic bits made this one of my favourites to watch. His skill is not only his vocals, but in his presentation, as you say, his ability to suck you in. He is a master of his craft and I always look forward to seeing what he'll do next.

I haven't heard anyone - besides Dan - capable of doing Freddy Mercury justice, let alone Bohemian Rhapsody in all its facettes. Only vocalists with such a wide range, like Dan, make it sound good. And yes, Dan's pronounciation is immaculate. Glad you approved 😉

In 1982, I was 33 years old, and already had four children (my oldest was 15, and my youngest at that time was 12). After my first husband found a different wife in 1973, I met my 2nd-and-forever husband in 1983, and we married. He added his son to the mix (in the middle of my first four, by age), and in 1985, we had our youngest (who turned 38 in August, 2023). So all of the kids--even Judi pretty much grew up with Freddie Mercury music. 😀

I am totally ok with other artists performing the music. It was Freddie himself who said they could as long as they didn’t make him boring. The one thing I do not like at all is the AI music with Freddie’s voice singing songs he never sang. Takes the soul out of it…

In fact, I heard something just a couple of days ago, indicating that that kind of thing might at least get a warning, and then be stopped, if the right people report it. Of course, that could cause a whole bunch of other problems along with it basically being the right thing to do.

I love Dan. But if you're a big Queen fan, listen to Pentatonix's a capella version! Queen guitarist, Dr Brian May, posted it on his social pages and merely said, "Enjoy!". It's really very good - with no instruments! 💖
Freddy was phenomenal (sorry you never got to see him perform), but Dan has won me over 100%. He has every bit the range that Freddy had but is more expressive which adds more depths to the songs he chooses to record.

Well… my dad is exactly that. A strong veteran with a good sense of humor and an amazing taste in music. He has shaped my musical taste towards rock both classic and the more modern. I basically took it from there and built upon it. Even though I’m not sure I told him as much but I love him to death and beyond. Maybe I should tell him ;)
Oh dear. It had to be me, I suppose. I'd much rather listen to Dan than hear Adam Lambert massacre it, but even Dan isn't Freddie. I've smiled and giggled at points, even uttering a "YES!" when Dan gets it spot on, but he's still not Freddie. I'm old enough to have seen Queen in the original line-up live and I just can't move past that. Sorry, chaps.

Yes, Freddie is often imitated but never duplicated. Nobody will ever fill his shoes. Still, this was an incredible tribute to him and Dan did it justice!
