Critical Role - Rollies

I'm wondering if the amount bet has something to do with it.

I’d be willing to bet 10 gold on a game of rollies that it’s nothing more than an opposed d20 roll

based on the way it was played you win or lose more based on how much the D20 role is different. IE: if you bet 10g and roll a 10, but your oppenet rolls a 12 you lose 5g, but if your opponent rolls a 16 you lose all 10g. win by 5 or more= double your bet win by less than 5= win half your bet lose by less than 5 = lose half your bet lose by 5 or more = lose all bet

@@zipcc is this a DC based on the pot? Because if it's based on the rolls. It doesn't explain how Taliesin lost 8g from rolling a 4 and Matt rolling a 5.

Tbh if they released an official Rollies game that’s just 2 d20s, a couple poker chips and a pamphlet with the rules on it for $50, it’d still sell out in minutes.

@@bensledge4652 I think there may be more to it, like how much the other person rolls effects how much you lose, (IE if they role 10 higher you lose all but if less than 10 higher you only lose half. I say this because Ashton lost only 5 gold in the first roll)

Its literally opposing d20 roles. Ashton only lost 10 gold because he bet 5 twice. Mat said 10 because he was adding up Ashton and the npcs pot total for the second round of rollies.

Homebrewed gambling rules. Most likely, Matt rolled a fifteen.
