Nowadays, CRM is coming closer and closer to being an ERP, but ERPs are still the bigger set of solutions. Maybe CRM is like the little brother of ERP.

I personally have never seen an ERP system help reduce costs. It may help you get an overview of where your money is going, if you enter your data correctly at least (wich is a huge challenge for most by the way). Id say ERP is an elaborate tool to keep track of where everything is, was and needs to go with regards to inventory and finances. If the system is rigid and you have strict policies on customizations. It may also help with the institutionalization of processes.

I worked both system CRM and ERP/Net Suite and to me ERP/ Net Suite is more for leads and sales ,both systems are good and easy to use.

ERP is synonymous with accounting and every business needs an accounting system to get started. CRM is all about helping you make sales - new customers and repeat customers. It also helps you track lead flow and make sure no steps are missed in your sales process. If you are brand-new, start with accounting and then focus on getting the sales piece (CRM) up and running soon as you can!

Why not both? CRM provides pipeline and demand forecasting information that can manage planning and provides further cost reduction/execution efficiencies => just in time manufacturing and production

Hello! In short, D365 Sales is the CRM equivalent, and Business Central is the ERP equivalent. D365 Sales is going to be more focused on the customer relationship, while BC is more focused on inventory management and invoicing.
