Crochet a Hat for Beginners (Take 4) | Easy Pattern to Crochet Hat in LESS THAN 1 Hour!
Even though the Atreyu Crochet channel is for beginners, I think it's necessary to build upon the basics. The great thing about crocheting is that even the most complicated of patterns can still be broken down to the very basics of crocheting.
Don't ever approach a crochet pattern with doubt. Simply break down the pattern and approach it one stitch at a time. If a stitch is foreign to you, then find a RU-vid tutorial on it, learn the stitch, and resume with the pattern. Although our starting point is that of a beginner, it is also true that that is not our destination.

I'm not sure what your full-time career is, but you would make an excellent middle or high school teacher. You have a calming demeanor and voice in your videos. Hi. I'm late finding your channel. I loved the pattern and color of the hat and scarf. I had my volume turned all the way up, but still not loud enough though. Thank you for your time and patience with the tutorial. I'm 73 years old and my mother taught me how to crochet at 12. I used directions for projects back then. made one of these last night for a friend! i just made an infinity scarf which was my first ”big project” but i was still nervous to make a beanie. this was so easy and fun to follow along. thank you so much!!! couple of things that may help some fellow beginners: -if you have never picked up a hook, this may not be a fun start for you. i wouldn’t say it’s intermediate by any means, but maybe make a dishcloth or something before tackling this -never pause after one dc, make sure you finish the crisscross so that you don‘t miss a stitch -if you only made one dc & didn’t notice until the next round, crochet into the third stitch from the hook and criss cross back into the lonely dc. this will keep your stitches correct without a glaring hole hope this helps anyone, and thanks again Atreyu 🫶🏾

A little extra help please. I’m attempting to make my fist hat. I have listened to numerous videos but I think your instructions are the best. Thanks for being such a great and informative teacher. My little problem is that by the time I get to round three and round four, my work is wavy and not flat like yours. I’m using Red Heart hopscotch, medium 4 with a 4mm hook. I tore it all out for the fifth time and am now using the recommend hook that is on the yarn skein - I/9 5.5mm. But I am experiencing the same problem, although it’s a tiny bit better. Also, I want to make one more round before starting the criss cross pattern which makes it even more wavy. I won’t give up! I just finished 4 rounds again and I will attempt to do round 5 same as round 4. Hopefully it won’t look like a potato chip like the last several tries. Thank you for your help and suggestions. Are you sure you’re not skipping stitches? That could cause buckling.
