Hi Cathy, great to see you today. I do love Mary Maxim and your shawl is very pretty. Thanks again for sharing and hope you have a great weekend coming up.
Hi Sindy! Mary Maxim is one of my favorites too, maybe sometimes a bit too often. lol. The shawl MAL was so much fun and I might need to do more MALs in future... Have a great weekend!
Good morning, so glad to see you and your creations. Your afghan is striking, variegated yarn can be a struggle to work with sometimes, your solution was great. It’s always amazing to see so many types of yarn thanks for sharing. Your mom will enjoy it….happy knitting 🧶
Hi Donna! I am so very happy that you shared a pic of your C2C baby blanket with the channel. And I remembered how much you appreciated Mikey's tutorial about the Corner to Corner stitch. You are such a great inspiration for this blanket. Thank you very much!
Thank you Cathy Nice to see you. I would use three colours in your blanket. I think they go together well. the shawl you showed at the beginning was beautiful. It really did look nice on you
The shawl was great fun to make. Thank you so much for suggestion about the three colours. I really appreciate knowing that they would look good together. Truly appreciate your opinion about it, because I was unsure.
G'morning Cathy, very excellent yarn haul! I think all three of the cotton colors will look nice together ☺️ I wanted to share a shout out with you for JoAnn @2 Crochet Curious who is doing a giveaway for content creators (international ones as well) I hope you have a wonderful day!! 💕
Thank you very much Yolanda for suggesting that the 3 yarns will look good together! I am inspired by spring on its way & looking for a pattern with flowers for this yarn. So many pretty ones available & I hope to make a final choice by this Friday... Appreciate you letting me know about JoAnn. This is a new channel to me. Will definitely pop over & watch a few of her videos. I wish all her supporters who enter the very best of luck :)
I think that is just a great gift for your Mom, she's going to have fun opening those beautiful yarns. Of course if it was me, I don't think I could stick to only one a day! LOL. I think with your blanket yarn colors, if it were me I'd pull out the rose colored one. But it might be nice to throw in a bright pop of color, even an ivory color to break up the browns. Just my two cents worth! And I agree with your son, if you wear your Reverdie wrap as you modeled it, the curling isn't even noticeable. The color way is really pretty. So good to see you feeling better this week!
Thank you so much Christine! Great idea to add some ivory to a blanket... and I have some MM value yarn in either white or off white that might work! About the wrap, maybe some yarns just are curl-ers??? I am not experienced enough with fine yarn to know and making this wrap was really a new thing for me... Mostly I use #3 and thicker. I am definitely on-the-upswing and feeling so much better. Hoping to be 100 percent healthy by next week, God willing.
Cathy Mainly I'm blocking shawls using blocking mats. If my item is too big I will fold it in half. That definitely helps. Before you lay it out, lay it between 2 towels and roll it up. I'll lean on it then to help the towel absorb as much water as possible. Then I'll pin it to the mats until it's dry.
Thank you so much Dawn! I had no idea how to block something this big & you have really helped. (I will make sure to squeeze out all the extra water & will fold it in half... Hadn't thought of doing that and had no idea how to block something that long.)
Thank you for this suggestion. Could I ask, if you are wet blocking something long, like this one, can you suggest what extra supplies I should buy? So far, this item and a few squares for a blanket are the only experiences I have. (When I did this item, I did it in 3 sections due to my limited blocking supplies)
Thank you so much for your question. I'd love to know that also, as I love patterns yet because I'm a visual learner -- I welcome a chart or a video if it is available. Maybe Mary Maxim customer service can suggest kits that have videos to go along with? (Wondering if some of the newer kits, by independent designers might have videos?)
