Crochet Cable Boyfriend Sweater Sizes S-5XL

Thank you so much for patterns that go up to 5X!!!!!!!! That is my size and it is so difficult to find patterns that go up that high.

I do crochet since I was 7 and now I am 30. This is the first time I will attempt to do a sweater, because I always thought this was beyond my capability. I love this jumper, I so want to do it. I'm an advanced beginner and will have to watch this tutorial a few times over before I begin just to get my head around it. Is there a written pattern we can purchase? Also is there a chart that says what measurements is a XL or 2XL.... I don't want to make one and find out the sizing is different here in Australia than it is in Ireland. Thankyou so much xx

Just confused with the sleeve increases, not sure if I’m hearing wrong but start of with chain of 31 but then increase until have 32? Stitches. Could you please clarify for me as luv this pattern.

Very beautiful design! I love the mock braided look on the front and how you did the waist band and cuffs of the sleeves! That beats doing single crochet in the back loop forever till you get to the length that you need! Your way is much easier and I will try it!

Can you do a very simple raglan style sweater? Not to oversized but like a comfy loose sweatshirt fit? I have so much trouble with the knowing how many stitches to divide up . Your tutorials are so easy to follow.

Are these sizes for women ? I'm doing an XL cause L seemed a bit small but in starting to think maybe it's for women build. I'm new at this so I really don't know what I'm doing. Love your videos, just one thing I would like to see. You never mention how many skeins of yarn you are using (unless I missed it) for the projects to be completed, an estimate of that would be great so I do not end up a skein short and then unable to finish the project because that color is no longer to be found.

Hi Carrie, I have a thinner yarn and I'm not able to meet the guage, and I don't want to use a larger hook as it wouldn't be a tight knit as I'd like on this sweater. Can I go up one or two sizes to compensate? I have a 3 weight yarn and 5mm hook works good. I was thinking of making an XL (for my husband chest 42"). Should i follow the pattern for size 2XL or 3XL to still get the size I require (XL)? Thanks in advance for your response. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I’m working through this sweater for a friend and want it to be really clean and nice looking! - when you do your ch3 and turn, the holes are larger on the one side than the ch1 side. Do you just leave them larger? - when sewing the pieces together, do you pull together and sew the seam (an overlap almost creating a bump) or is there a flatter way (or is that not strong enough?). So far it looks absolutely lovely!! I did a mixed blue cuff with a light grey sweater. It’ll be thick, but it’s pretty and I’m so happy :’) thank you, Carrie!!

By the sleves, after you have finished increasing... So you still continue alternating between single crochet and double, or do you then complete it by doing double? Sorry if my question is dumb, I'm still learning..

Hi there, for the sleeves, when you are adding stitches, for large size sweater, the total number of stitches should be 36 or we need to make 36 more to the 31 we started from? Meaning we stop increasinf at 36 stitches or at 67 (31+36)? Please help

The arms turned out really weird even though I followed the instruction. It kinda looks like there’s chick filets hanging from the armpit… what did I do wrong???
