I used this Beautiful stitch years ago in a sweater but forgot how to recreate for a dress I am making. I have been crocheting since the age of seven. I just turned 60. I taught myself to knit so at times I forget how to do certain stitches since I have so many stored away in my brain. I am using the same yarn in a navy blue for a dress I am making for myself. It will have a total of 5 different stitches to create a unique texture. I am even using the same needle you have in this video. Thank you for reminding me about this Beautiful stitch. I am the opposite. I need to watch a video since I can’t read a pattern to save my life! I just get a picture in my head and go for it. It always turns out the way I imagined it. I Absolutely Love It! ❤❤❤👏🏻👏🏻

I can only learn from videos because my grandma taught me how to crochet without patterns. I don’t know how to read them so i started watching videos and learned how to do stitches. Thank you for the awesome videos

You are genuinely an INCREDIBLE teacher. This is the single highest quality tutorial video I've ever had the privilege of using. Showing the swatch of how different contrasting colors look together in the stitch really sets this video apart for me. I finally consider myself an intermediate crocheter after ten years of making up my own stitches two years of relearning real crochet from scratch. I'm so excited to use this stitch as a bridge/practice before attempting the ADVANCED meltdown stitch (the pattern markets itself as intermediate, do not believe it 😅)

This was one of the first blankets I ever made and I was just starting out with crochet. So this really goes to show how clear your instructions were. And this was 4 years ago and here I am again watching the video because I want to make another Catherine wheel blanket ❤

3/16/2022: When I was learning crocheting, I soaked up information like a sponge. I could never learn too much. I caught on to everything really fast. Since then, I have crocheted so much and even taught crocheting at an occupational therapy class. I luv the way ppl make these videos on YTube now. Look at the video on Yutube: Peacock Pretty Blanket. Getting ready to make. Aloha from Hawaii💚❤️🌺🌴👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Just wanted to say thank you, I can't wait to make this. You are a great teacher! The way you walk through this anyone could crochet this. Not everyone explains patterns this well, some people go to fast or don't show very clear where the next stitch goes. You explained it so well that I only had to watch it once. I love this pattern! Thanks again for this video, and taking the time to make it!

I also worked it into a sweater I made years ago I like using different stitches to add texture onto my projects. I wish we could add pictures of our finished projects without adding a video.

Thank you for all the tutorials you have given. I put down crocheting years ago my grandmother was a master at it and she also did tatting she did a cherub crib sized padding with very thin yarn for my daughter. She's not here for me to learn from I have looked at a lot of tutorials and I always come back to you to perfect them. You don't crochet too fast so I am able to crochet along with you for the most part sometimes I have to hit pause LOL but I can't thank you enough. I have made 10 blankets this year I didn't think that was very many until I saw other people saying they made one or two a year. Some were queen size some were twin size. I am a heart patient I do have to spend a lot of time being calm and picking up crocheting again has helped me do that and you are my guide. Thank you so much!

Thank you for teaching these stitches through video. My Gran taught me how to crochet when I was young, only the easy stitches. Now that I'm older, I want to learn more advanced patterns. Your teaching me just like she would have, and with so much more patience . 😀

Thank you so much I am a visual learner along with the spoken word it’s truly the best as I don’t have any family to teach me so RU-vid tutorials are the best for me I think you’re awesome and thanks for all your hard work showing us & talking through it as it’s a big difference to the ones that just have it written and play music while you watch it’s as different as chalk & cheese 🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖

I also have learned crocheting from Debra, and another few people! I started in English Us terms.because at the time i started with crocheting there weren't Dutch women or men who made long video like this one! Only short commercial video's 😊😊. ( i am Dutch) I am grown up with a english speaking grandma because almost everybody from her family lives in Canada! She was good with crocheting too and my grandpa was a illustrator and he also made beautiful oil and acryl paintings at home! He also had studied for that and he was working for a very famous Dutch illustrating company! ( that was in the fifties till he died when i was 5) What the problem is when you learn crocheting in another language like English that i had difficulties with reading the crochet terms and what they want to tell in a Dutch crocheting! Now i finally found a Dutch woman who does the same what Debra does but i my 1 st language! Just to learn the Dutch terms and how to read patrons in Dutch instead of Us English 😁😁 That is working perfect for me now! I am glad i can also read Dutch patrons on the internet or in a very nice crocheting glossy which i buy sometimes when there is a special kind of lessons in! ( old Dutch curtain paterns reading and make it, filet technic) I am also just started to follow a few women which do zentangling or doodling! My son did that (Doodling) and he is making such wonderfull things) but i am happy that there is again more video's to find in American than in Dutch hahah. I love RU-vid! And i want to thank you Debra for all this fantastic lessons! Have a nice day!!!

LP on the top right area on your screen you will see 3 dots, click that. In that list you will see something that says playback speed, click that. Here you will be able to adjust the speed of her video. I usually use this if someone has a strong accent and I can’t understand. .75 or .50 is what I use. Hope this helps.

Hi...saw your question and thought I'd comment. I think it looks better in solid colors otherwise you won't really be able to see the pattern. I guess it might work if you did one solid row and one variegated.
