FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How much yarn do I need?
Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.
-What equipment do you use?
Camera: amzn.to/2jkNDl2
Tripod: amzn.to/2w4ReK8
Ring Light: amzn.to/2w4vrC7

I follow so many crochet channels but every single time I want to learn a new thing, you are the channel I come to. You taught me crochet a little less than a year ago and you are still, by far, the only person who has managed to teach me a stitch or a pattern in the first try. You're seriously awesome.

I'm years late but I have to say, I watched four other videos about this stitch before landing here, and this was the only one that made it "click" for my brain how to find the previous stitch to put the hook into! The advice for moving your finger up is great--it helped me find it, but also helped me understand what it looked like so I could find it without doing that. Thank you so much for your clear teaching!

finally got the hang of this, I am a leftie who crochets right-handed but I found I yarn over the opposite way to a right-handed and that meant it didn't go right. I have now corrected this and should get used to yarn over in the correct way with a little practice. this is a much better way to start a garment as it gives a more flexible edge. thank you

what kind of yarn is this?? My yarn is so soft it keeps breaking apart when I try to find the hole on the first chain? I have the 4 medium weight worsted but someone told me to try the 5 or 6 weight. I'm a beginner by the way. Someone also told me that this was much easier to do than the single stitch which i REALLY had trouble getting. I do the chains pretty good, it's just when i have to make the single stitch is where I get messed up.

@CorenaGaroutte

I'm 43 years old and been crocheting since I was in 4th grade. I still struggle with dropping and sometimes adding stitches. Once I get about five rows it's a lot easier. What I do is count each stitch every time I finish a row. If you need to add one , just add one. If you dropped a stitch it's easier to rework one row rather several and some times all. Like I said I struggle the first few rows, so I count them. After I only count ohh just ever few rows just to make sure I'm on point.
@CorenaGaroutte
@CorenaGaroutte 8 лет назад
This is why the single stitch is hard. When you work doubles a triples you know if your on point if at the end of row the pattern ends up on point
@hattiem.7966
@hattiem.7966 8 лет назад
I found out later that I wasn't counting each row and not chaining right,3 instead of 1 as I wasn't following a pattern.I do better with scarves than blankets.

+CORKY NATURAL CREATIONS Corena Garoutte I knitted a tiny bit as a kid but played outside most of the time or read books in the winter ( when I had to stay inside ).I took up knitting 18 years ago but the teacher wasn;t nice then decided to try last year.I did get help to finish a sweater ( the sleeves ) then I learned to crochet and to my shock,I prefer it but I do have mild arthritis now so that proabably is one reason.I told my daughter that this blanket won't be that straight on the edges as I got lazy and didn't pay attention!!!

Great tutorial. I had watched another tutorial and didn't show u what to do after the 1st row so I went to make my 1st graphgan using the other tutorial and I now realize I messed up big time using the chainless foundation cuz my graphgan is coming out backwards. It's a superman graphgan and the S symbol is backwards on the right side. I so wished I had seen ur video 1st before starting my graphgan. I was half way into graphgan before it started becoming obvious. So many hrs of work and yarn. Thank you for showing us what happens after u complete the foundation row so no one else will make such a painstaking mistake that I did.

You're welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your graphgan but hope it's coming along well now! 🙂

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm fairly new to crochet and I've learnt loads from your tutorials. I struggle with foundation chains and am about to start my latest blanket using the chainless foundation (when I've had several practices!) Do I need to use a larger hook as the pattern suggests for making the chain, or will it make the first row too loose when I change back to my normal 4mm hook?

You're welcome, I'm so happy to have helped 😊 For a chainless foundation I would use the same size crochet hook as you're planning to use throughout.

Hi! Excellent video. Would I be able to link to this tutorial for a pattern I’m making? I will not be making money from the pattern.

Thank you, yes you can link the tutorial as long as you attribute it to Bella Coco Crochet and do not sell the pattern :)

Love this, but how do you make the end match, as in a scarf!!!
@bellacococrochet

You could work a row of plain stitches at the very end of your scarf to match the beginning 😊 You may also find that working a simple border around the finished piece will make the beginning less noticeable

I use chainless foundation rows on all my projects. I'm trying to do a slip stitch chainless foundation row, has anyone tried it?
