I wonder if the rubber band part hurts the back of the head , is it tight? Love the pattern

I have had not had any issues with it. The cotton yarn stretches a little bit too. The band should not be stretched too much.

I did 1 sc on the elastic, 61 ch , 1 sc around elastic, turn Repeat row 2 sc *dc sc* repeat until 2 left, 2 sc, 1 sc around elastic... return Needed to make sure my chain wasn't twisted... but means I don't have to sew in the elastic at the end

What is the best size yarn to use for these awesome headbands?

A size 4 or category 4 yarn. It is also called worsted weight. It is designed for a cotton yarn which will have less stretch than other yarns.

Yes I would measure the head size. Though I provide head size estimates, everyone's head size is different. I have an 8 yr old son whose head is the same size as mine. Toddler Head size: 19 inches circumference Child Head size: 20 inches circumference Small Adult Head size: 21 inches circumference Adult Head size: 22 inches circumference Large Adult Head size: 23 inches circumference
