I especially liked this video. Loved the whole concept and woodsy theme. A beautiful shawl! Please know all your videos are wonderful. ❤️. The hook set would be a lovely perk to have.
Hi Anja, thanks for all your tutorials. I've enjoyed making this shawl and will be making another one soon. I would love to win your hiya hiya hooks. I've heard you talk about them so much that I can hardly wait to try them out! Thanks Anja!
Love this shall i love the concept of starting at the longest row down to the shortest. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I wish i could crochet faster to get more projects done.😊👏
Gorgeous! I have never jumped so fast on a pattern. Just got done with it and it’s perfect. I used a worsted weight tweedy yarn and size N hook so it’s nice and airy yet warm and cozy. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thankyou for another fabulous video and tutorial Anja, what a simple yet beautiful pattern! You worked up that little triangle to demonstrate so quickly! I instantly saw that small triangle in multiples , joined end to end and become a gorgeous bunting, haha!!🤗 Tribute to the larger shawl of course! ✨💗X
Just watched the tutorial. I've never made a shawl starting with the longest row and working down! Also, the way you made it symmetrical at the end. And great idea using one of those toggle type buttons! I learn a lot from your tutorials! Thank you!
@@OpheliaTalks I haven't decided on one yet but I have quite a few balls of Scheepjes in the color Anywerpen which is a purple. But I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking more of a Navy would suit me better 😄
Thank you for the lovely pattern. Just purchased it on ravelry and layout and art work are really beautiful. Looking forward to starting. Just waiting for yarn ti arrive.
Anja 🌷 This is such a lovely Shaw and the pattern looks doable even for me...lol I need to shift my brain from Summer to Fall and run through my stash for the perfect color 🤗 Thank you for sharing and will see you soon 🍂🍁
Hi Anja, how nice to hear you in Dutch, it looks good on you. I fell in love with the shawl you were wearing and found your tutorial. Ik ga 'hakend opzetten met halve vasten' proberen.
Really lovely intro, Anja ❤️ I love the flow of this pattern and feel even I could do it. You are an excellent teacher. That little trick of releasing the extra stitches is just perfect and sneaking the other chains down the side is a fun way to finish it off. Anything to avoid sewing unnecessary ends. 😜 As always, thank you for being you and for sharing with us. 😘
Love this tutorial. I made it in two evenings. A present for my daughter's birthday. Very easy and quick to work up. Thanks Anya, and please put me in the random dip to win the gorgeous HiyaHiya hooks. Keep up the good work. :-)
So Sorry I missed It live 😞but had to go out to work at the last minute 🙄typical but now I am going to Watch and relax as I always relax watching your videos Anja ❤️ 🤗👋
Thank you for watching Michele Bowry ! Anja xxx 💕🌈 This is recorded and uploaded. I am only doing live on Sunday evening UK time. It is there for you to watch forever so no rush 😊
I just love this shawl! I’ve already made one for myself, and am currently making another for my mom! Pictures to come in the facebook group 😊 Would LOVE to try and make another for my sister with a hiya hiya hook if I get lucky and win the set! 😁
I really love this shawl!!! Started it a few days ago with super fine merino dk from Rowan... I think it will be very nice. Mine will turn out much bigger than yours ( so it is a little blanket at the end 😉😂). Thank you for this great tutorial 😘😍
Hi! I'm a newcomer to your group! I have watched a few of your videos, and I am currently making this shawl!. I had quite a time with the second row, i had to decrease a hooksize from what I chained with! Your videos are very clear and helpful. Very important question: How do you keep cat hair from getting in your crochet???? I also wanted to comment on your dress in this video...historically accurate uneven eyelets!
Hi Amy, welcome and thank you for joining. Cat hair, well yes, that is a question, I don't do anything specific really, obviously I try and be careful, but I'm not that worried about her hairs. Thank you, I made the dress, I used to be in a reenactment group and I made all my own costumes and my family's too. Thanks for watching, Anja x
I love 💕 the Woodbury Castle Shawl and will be crocheting 🧶 it soon with my special yarn 🧶! I hope I win the Hiya Hiya crochet 🧶 hook set Anja! Thank you! Hope I win! 💕🧶
How would you best measure this based on someone’s size rather than the length of their arms? I am a very large woman, unfortunately, and I’m concerned that if I only measure my arm lengths, that it might not be long enough to wrap around me. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I love the color! I love that you named it after castle.
If you measure the length you require to wear it the way she shows it, you know how long it has to be at the top. You have to test your tension and gauge for the yarn you'll be using to see how many stitches for the pattern you need. It is mentioned how many multiples the pattern requires. Test the yarn and fabric for stretch as well.
need to keep watching, I'm having a bit of difficulty with it. Not sure why. It reminds me of another pattern a long time ago with the chain row and then the shells, but I'm worried I'm putting the 5 Treble Crochets in the wrong places along that next row.
@@OpheliaTalks I wouldn't give up and watched over again the chain three row and found I was adding an extra chain three, then the next row was easy to see where to go with the shell. I hesitated at the end of each row to make sure I didn't go too far or not far enough and I think I finally got the rotation of the rows down pat. Thanks for your reply. I picked a color close to yours Anja, rust for Fall. I think also my yarn is thicker so it's not as lacy looking, but it will be warm for sure. Have a great weekend. See you on Sunday.
hello, can anybody please tell me the multiple we have to count to prepare the foundation chain? (if i want to have enough stitches to make a complete shell at the end) thanks !
