I thank God I found your channel two years ago. I’ve been struggling with depression and your videos have made a lot of difference in my mental health. Also, my Mom loves your soothing voice and she is able to relax and have a more peaceful night. Thank you. You’ve made a big difference to our quality of life. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year 🎄🍾. 🥰🧡♥️🤎🙏🏽
This should be called the Zen shawl. The pattern is so relaxing that it puts me in a zen head space. This is an absolutely gorgeous shawl. Thanks Spidey!! I love you!
I have been crocheting for a while, but, this is the first time I have successfully been able to make a shawl. Thank you for opening a whole new world to me ❤️
It's the Canadian gal here. I'm making 5 of these shawls for low income senior ladies in a nursing home in Alberta, Canada. These 5 shawls will complete my quota of a total of 40 shawls for these ladies. I already have 2 of these on the go. So easy, so fun & so quick.............thanks for another great tutorial
Woohah...I finally found someone who is a very good teacher! I salute you. Thank you for your easy to follow videos. You're the 1st crochet teacher I can follow along with and not have to stop the video so much. You've been so helpful. Your techniques are also so helpful and on point. Thank you for all of the hard work you do for us.
i cant belive it ! i follow your directions and make a big shawl for my mother withe a shell stitch border .. this was my first crochet project 🇰🇼😃 big thanks from kuwait
I am happy I discover your channel, and it is very clear and its easy to understand and you can share your yarn crochet design, more power to you,you know I am 81 years old and you make me alive❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing! one of my all time favorite shawls to make of your tutorials. Working on one with you for a friend who just lost her 48yr old husband to cancer. I want her to feel comforted by this shawl. 💗💗 like she's being wrapped in a warm embrace.
Thank you! 😊 I was looking for a prayer shawl for my daughter-in-law. I made this with a DK yarn and it's gorgeous. I love your tutorials. Keep up the great work!
Just love your tutorials, you make me smile and giggle. Making my sister in law this shawl for crimbo 2023. Always make the same new years promise to myself .... to enjoy life to the full. Not broken it in 20yrs. Love from the UK.
This is my first try at a triangular shawl. It took me several tries and frogs to get to started but I stayed relaxed and watched the first part if your video each time to find my mistake. By the time I was able to get to about the fourth row, became automatic and I just finished it yesterday. THANK YOU for your slow, relaxed, and encouraging instructions ❤
Hi Craig, I appreciate that, as you showed, I can turn over my shawl top to combat the very irksome way that top down shawls refuse to lie straight across the top. However, I don’t want a “collar” on my shawls and wondered if anyone else commenting on this tutorial has any tricks & tips that will help me achieve a nice straight edge across the top. Sorry to be picky, but you know how it is, I like what I like. Thank ou for all you’ve taught me, I appreciate you, I really do! 🥰
Fiber Spider..what you seem to realize, although some of us have been crocheting most of our lives, you understand we don’t know the pattern and so, you show each step clearly. “Other” demonstrators often assume we should know what to do. Kudos to you and thanks for your tutorials. I still don’t understand why you aren’t sponsored. 🤷🏻♀️ You’re awesome! 💕💕💕
THANK YOU I TAUGHT MYSELF IN NOVEMBER I BEGAN AND I MUST SAY THAT YOU ARE GREAT AT TEACHING I LEARNED THIS IN THE FIRST 3 ROWS AND AM GOING STRONG I WILL CONTINUE TO LEARN FROM YOU
Oh my gosh you are such a clear and concise teacher. I just started to crochet and have been looking for an easy pattern. I watched your video many times until I got it right. No fault of yours I kept getting the count wrong. I think I messed up at the beginning and kept stitching in the wrong first stitch but by really paying attention and counting each row I think I finally got it. Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm working on one right now. Twice I had to undo two rows just because I forgot the one dc at the end. Thanks so much and God bless. I'm enjoying this project.
I am new to crocheting. My cousin from Las Vegas was the one who introduce me to your site. Your instructions are so clear that I can easily follow. I love your humor and hard work. I am one your big fan. Thank you so much because of you I am enjoying and learning fast.
Dear Fiber Spider... I have just quit working because I'm 66 years old and now I will have the time to crochet! I am so glad to have found you on you tube. I have really enjoyed your tutorials and am now working on # 5. not bad for an old girl. I have been giving them away to whoever says that they like them that's a really good feeling. Keep up the good work and may God Bless you
My sister and I spent part of our quarantine learning to crochet, and your channel came heavily recommended by several of our friends. After hammering out some practise granny squares, I dove into this shawl project (at my sister's insistence) and immediately fell in love with it. I've since made a few shawls from this pattern as well as the Top Down Filet Mesh and Granny shawls. I appreciate your patience and demanour; it feels like we're spending quality time together while playing with yarn! I've since started recommending you on my channel and hope some of my subscribers found their way to you. :)
I thank you so much for your teaching method and the time you provide for one to keep up with you. I am just thrilled that I came across your channel on my cell phone. I am 77 yrs old, left handed crocheter, primarily self taught and just so happy to have been able to keep up. I am going to wear my shawl Easter. I will be finished by then. Bless you abundantly.
Thank you for this wonderful, easy tutorial. I started this shawl and I have already crocheted half of it! Love the way it is coming out, mine is in lavender color with sparkles! Thank you again!
I found you by accident and I am so glad I did. I have wanted to make myself a Shaw for a long time but never could find a pattern I liked. When I found this one I loved it! I even had the same brand of ombre yarn. Mine is shared of violet. I am ready to start my second skein It is beautiful. I now know I will be making a bunch of your patterns. Thank You so much for sharing your wonderful talents!
Thank you so much for your tutorials! I am a beginner and it’s very easy to follow you. I appreciate how you go step by step and show it into the camera so I know exactly which stitch you are talking about.
Hands down the easiest shawl ever and your teachings skills of showing exactly what each row had in stitches and going slow enough for us was great too. I have subscribed to fiber spider videos and I wish I could give you a 10; you are a great teacher, thanks and keep making more videos!
Thank you the easy for follow instructions. I gave this shawl at a baby shower and the Mom thought it was the most amazing "Baby blanket", she loved the unique way it would wrap her new baby. I never told her it was a shawl for her to wear durning the long nights of feedings. I now love it as a new born baby blanket !!
Just started a shawl with this tutorial and the texture really stands out which is not obvious in the pictures. I think the recipient will really like it when I get it done.
I can’t wait to see what this is going to look like when I finish it. Thank you for the tutorial to get us started. It’s sometimes a little fast for us “old beginners “ 😊but I am so thankful for all you do.❤
Bless you. Thank you so much for this. I am new to crochet and I have 100% learned from youtube videos. I am a hot mess and I can never figure out what I'm doing wrong. I followed your directions exactly and it actually came out looking the way it is supposed to! The bit about figuring out where to put the needle at the end of each row in that tricky chain stitch was golden. THANK YOU!
Thank you for this! I was ready to just give up ever learning and the way you show where you are stitching INTO the stitch or just use the space, made all the difference in the world.
OMG i might be able to do this with your instructions Im hopeful. ive only watched a little but im excited. I love how you went threw and counted and said what the stitch was DC instead of saying you should have. learning all the stitches and where to put them is hard i keep having to many or not enough . wish me luck
I don’t know when this video was made but it is now October 2023 and I’m still going back and trying to make a shawl with this particular instructions. Thank you thank you
This is my first shawl attempt (after a failed attempt cuz I didn't follow the instructions 😅) I'm using some beautiful yarn I bought on hobbii and this pattern here is perfect for it. Thank you so much for explaining everything as you go. Plus, your voice is so soothing to crochet to.
Love love this.. and your melodious calming voice... I did as you said and assed my own touch with beading. ( I AM the bead girl) thank you for this easy shawl,
I love your crochet tutorials. I’ve done your butterfly, easy breezy and virus patterns. There’s something about the way you give the tutorial that I can pick up pattern so quickly. I think it’s the way you explain what you’re doing and giving hints and tips. All I know is that I’ve followed a lot of you tube tutorials and you are by far the best instructor.
I am now on my 3rd shawl using this pattern. I love that it's such an easy pattern but with beautiful results with each different colorway that I try. Thank you for the pattern and your thorough and soothing way of teaching.😊
I have for a long time tryed to crochet a chawl to my dear Mother, finally found the right colour, dirty orange, she loves earth colours and no you dearest helped me with this great pattern. Thank you so much! Love the way you present and your work ofcourse! Big hug and all the best from Norway 😍🙏
Oh THANK you! I spent days and hours tryna find an easy shawl stitch. I finally asked my school-days friend who owns Lavender Cup Crochet for her advice, and she linked me to you! I'm not terribly talented, I tend to work and learn slowly, but you knew in advance how anxious I get with that last stitch and said to breathe. THIS time, I kept trying instead of the whole tangle going sailing across the room to land in a frustrated heap! Thank you, thank you, THANK you. Liked and subscribed!! You are a fan-tabulous teacher! ❤❤
I just love your style! I love how you greet your viewers as yarnavores and spider eyes. You have such a great personality and phenomenal teaching skill. Thank you so much. Love all your tutorials. God Bless!!🤗
I have never crocheted before, and found this amazing neon and black Halloween kind of colored yarn and wanted to make something with it, following your tutorial I was able to make two beautiful Halloween shawls for my daughters. Because it doesn't lay flat at the top. It actually looks a little more like a hooded scarf, but I am so thankful for your very reasonable and simple instructions. I will definitely be looking for more tutorial! Thanks a bunch! Be blessed and caffeinated and awesome!
As a newbie who is self taught i have searched and "listened" to many videos to learn so many different patterns and basic crochet stitches and yours is by far the most simple one i've learned with. Love it
Hi again mr spider man. I’ve been sick for some time and haven’t been able to crochet at all but now I’m back and in a senior home which is very nice. Thank you again for your wonderful tutoring. It’s the one thing I do to ignore the pain. In fact I don’t even know I’m sick at all when I crochet thanks to you. I have made 2scarves and 2 shawls in 3 weeks and have started another one. Joy joy joy 😁🤩🤓
Wow I love love this pattern. Thankyou. I am in Australia using a size 5, (US H-8) on 8 ply, blueberry swirl. I can’t wait to finish it for my mum for Christmas
Just spent the past three hrs looking at shawls and wraps......UGH!!! Suddenly your video came up and there was peace in the valley once again!!! Thank you so very much!!!
This is the second tutorial I have used of yours and I am so impressed! I'm very new to Crochet, teaching myself via youtube and your videos are BY FAR the best to follow along with. I have a very hard time following patterns since I am such a visual learner. I now look for your videos first before trying out a new stitch even. THANK YOU.
I just found your videos and love to your channel...easy to follow and understand. Just the right speed...slow in the beginning so we can learn well and then a few at a slightly quicker pace. Thank you it's just perfect!
I love this pattern...during this pandemic I’m working on lap blankets for nursing homes. But I’ve been asked for shawls. I’m well on my way with my first one.......thank you for making it doable with your very clear tutorial. For now the nursing homes can’t accept these items coming in.......but, once it’s okay, health wise, I’ll have lots to go around.
Hi Fiber Spider! Just wanted to let you know that I recently made this beautiful shawl for my 93-year-old grandmother. She has recently had to go into a home and, throughout her life, she was extremely gifted at sewing, crochet, knitting, painting etc. She always made lovely things for her children, her grandchildren and for my daughter. This was my opportunity to make something for her so thank you so very much for sharing this pattern and your talent :)
You are absolutely the best tutorial instructor I've come across! Your method of teaching is clear, easy to follow and charming. I had to laugh at the "just breathe" comment! I am not a patient crocheter and that comment really struck a chord and made me laugh at the same time. Thank you for a perfect tutorial and for what is turning out to be a beautiful project!
I have never made a shawl before but have always wanted too. After your wonderfully made video I feel confident that I will succeed! Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing more.
*HEY EVERY ONE * I have followed this twice, and found if you chain 3 in the middle it will ease the odd roll over from the first few rows. PS I'm just learning crochet and did it by accident about 10 rows in saw the difference frogged it and restarted it worked out beautifully. PPS Thanks for the awesome tutorial!
I just stumbled upon your channel today and had planned to make an entirely different pattern with my Red Heart, Roll with it Yarn in color, Theatre,” but just loved your style of teaching and changed to this pattern instead. It is looking so fabulous and I wanted to tell you how inspiring and encouraging watching your video was for me!!! Happy Stitching!! 😊❤
Hi Craig. I am late to the cotillion on this beauty. Started it this morning and it works up fast. I’m using Pound of Love in the color taupe. Such a lovely shawl which I’m donating to charity. Thank you so much for teaching it. Be well and be safe.
I love this pattern. I made it to the end of row 8 while watching this one. I spin my own wool yarns, and love to make shawls. And, I love easy ones. Thank you!
Best tutorial so far. You do not asume everyone is on the same level. meaning advanced I have only recently started and you made it so easy for me. Thank you do not change anything.😃
Your tutorials are so easy to follow and your voice is si soothing - thank you for crocheting at a pace I personally could follow - looking forward to more of your tutorials . Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you for sharing this Beautiful shawl. While you was showing it I was making the shawl in Red Heart Super Saver Ombré color Sea Coral. It’s so easy that anyone that is a beginner can try it. You are an Awesome person teacher.
This is wonderful thank you. Mindless crochet is right up my alley. I occasionally do more advanced stuff just to hone my skill or on request, but something I don't have to keep referring back to a pattern is my favorite. I'm thinking of making this in a finer yarn. Considering yarn bee 44th street. I think the soft fuzziness of it in a soft white will make a beautiful prayer shawl.
I've never been able to work on a project while watching a tutorial without stopping, rewinding, restarting, etc. However, I did with this one! Easy instructions and a perfect pace. Loved it! Thanks so much :-)
I just happened to find you and I’m very glad I did. I’ve been crocheting for years but I’ve never made a shawl. So I was looking at different patterns and some of them got too complicated. Then I found your pattern. I’m doing this for a special friend of mine. I kept your tutorial up while I was first working on it so I could be sure I was doing it correctly. I was going back and forth looking. It helped tremendously! I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
Hi Spider Buddy, I guess I’m feeling guilty not subscribing & push like & today I did. U are the sweetest person in the world of crocheting 100% sure. U are very informative & u are very good in doing tutorials. U make sure we understand & always go to an extra steps that we get it. I really appreciate it & like u I love to crochet. I’m 75 yrs young & I do a lot of crocheting, but I just give them to my family & friends. It give me joy & fulfilling life. Until next time, happy crocheting. Gloria Fouts
Love your Tutorials. i am left handed and your explainations on the shawl is so awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this for us who just don't get the patterns sometimes..
