i just made two head bands for my daughters. 73chain for 3 years old, 73+3+3 for 5 years old, very pretty headband. i will make adult size for myself later.
Thank you very much for your comment. I will pin your comment on the top then people can see how many chains they will need for different sizes. Thanks again.
It didn’t work for me :( I tried few times, first time last year and I get the same result now. I don’t know what Im doing wrong but for some reason my headband is tight at the bottom and quite wave on top. It also somehow rounds up to create this circle instead of rectangle :/ Any hint how to make it better? Maybe because I used 3 mm crochet not 4mm?
Why you used 3.00mm crochet hook if I showing 4.00mm? You never will get the same size and look if you using different thickness yarn or different crochet hook, It's why I spending time and showing all hooks and yarn and also measuring. Plus If you made chain tight the also bottom will be smaller then top. You can use one size up for chain for example 4.50mm or 5.00mm hook and then continue with 4.00mm crochet hook. Very sad you can't make correctly. If you like my work and other videos then I suggest you to buy 4.00mm crochet hook if you do not have. Normally I use 3.50mm, 4.00mm or 5.00 hook, but most 4.00mm hook for my patterns. Make a chain and try around head fit for you or not and then continue pattern. Try again and then we can talk again. .
@@HappyCrochetClub, thank you for the answer. I know what was the reason it didn't work well for me. I made the 1st chain too tight and when I was adding more rows, I worked more relaxed so the yarn built up towards the top. I found out how to make it work. 1. make the bottom chain loose and keep the tension the same throughout the work. 2. when finishing the row with star closing - I didn't do 2hdc, I did 1 hdc and that way the edge stayed straight. When I used 2hdc at the end in the same loop, the edge widened up again. It doesn't matter that much the mm f the hook. I used 3,5mm/ 4mm/ 4,5mm - I got the same result. Now I know that at the end of the edge NOT to put 2hdc but 1 instead and it works perfectly :) I just had to adjust your pattern. Looks lovely now, thank you! :)
@@JoolieEm Ok I understand. I have a problem when I making under camera very uncomfortable hands on the table etc. my work is tight when I say continue crochet and I can do in a normal way relaxing my work more loosely. :)
Very pretty ear warmer with the star stitch..... my first time crocheting this stitch and your tutorial was very easy to follow. As soon as I perfect this project I will make them as gifts. Do you have any suggestions for me as to how many chains for a young girl ages 5-10? Thank you!! 💕
Hello, This headband 18" + and you need 16"-17" then from chain you need take off 4 chains 1" or 6 chains. for 1 star we use 2 stitches if you have ready headband then measure how many stars you want take off, 1 star 2 stitches.
This is so pretty! I used a very lightweight 4 yarn and a 5.0 hook. quick, easy, and so pretty. You have lots of pretty patterns. off to try another. thank you for sharing :)
Thank you for watching. This stitch looks complicated but actually very easy to make if you know - How To - :) then no problem. If somebody else can do we can do :) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@@rosevrutherford2391 Thank you! Yes this year I making star stitch in different ways, its mean I have stitch and I try make different Patterns from one the same stitch. I also made adult hat from this stitch but never listed I need work out stitches again, because adult hat came out too big :) I will think about this later. :) how to make smaller.
Hi, It is old video 2019 , I do not remember how many stitches was in one multiple. You have to make chain 15.5" for 8-12 months. I have different video for star stitch only ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aWjb1-E5NdY.html there I said any odd number. So you have to make chain which fit around baby head or 15"-15.5" but should be odd number. Yarn no important.
This is beautiful 😊..I have a big head can I use more than 73 chains ? Can I add 83 chains or 93 chains I’m going to try it anyways...oh mine is working , I think a person can use any kind of yarn ...oh oh bragging too soon ..I only got 66 sc stitches ..I’ll keep going see what happens!
Hi, Headband is stretchy and when start wear always becomes bigger. I watched this video I do not remember what multiples there was, I think multiples of 3 +1. then will be 73 +3 +3= 79 sts, for example, try like this. If no enough or too much then you see how many leftovers or how many need to add more. But this you will see when you start to make stars.
Hi, you have to add 2 sts (multiples of 2) , but do not add to many, because they will become bigger when start wear. When you made your 1st headband if you remember you made star stitch in eye then in loop and again in loop. and then you went to next 2 st ( like moved 2 sts) and then again made star 4 loops ready and again moved 2 sts made 2 loops in next 2 sts its means you need add 2 sts . 2+2+2 = 6 or how many you want.
actually I see that you have subtitles and that works great so disregard my previous message. I love your star stitch earwarmer and am going to make a bunch to add to my hats for donating and also for my grandchildren. Thank you
Hello, I just love this headband and you are a good teacher. But I am having so much trouble with the number of stitches I end up with. After I do the STAR stitch I end up with 38 stitches, so therefore my headband is curved. Do you know what I am doing wrong. I ripped it out 3x yesterday and I want to try one more time before I give up. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Hello and Thank you but I do not understand how you from 72 stitches got 38 sts. I watched video only where can be mistake you have to do 2 hdc in each eye. It is only what I can see if you making 1 hdc in each eye into 3rd row then you have 36 sts +2 edge stitches. = 38 sts.
@@HappyCrochetClub Thanks for the quick reply and the hint. I am trying to remember if I did 1 or 2 in the eye. I thought I did 2, but I will try again today. Thanks for the quick reply. It is a beautiful pattern.
@@judycameron3548 you can change speed in settings or just watch first what I doing and then step buy step repeat. there 2 rows sc, 3rd row make stars and 4th row 2 hdc in each star stitch eye
@@HappyCrochetClub Thank you so much. I tried it again and watch the video more closely and I GOT it. I have 72 stitches. I am so excited to finish this off today. Thanks so much. Judy
72 +1 stitches - standard size and + stretchy. You can make more stitches if you like. It is for average size head 21"-22" fit perfectly. + People crochet differently if more loosely then even this headband will be bigger then mine because I crochet tight.
You can make chains that fit around head and then do the same how I showing. Chains should be even number. Also can make less rounds if making for child. Thank you for watching my channel.
