Crochet Ripple Through The Years- and A Free pattern!

I started a scrappy Crochet Ripple blanket, 2 weeks after fracturing my right shoulder. I am calling it my Therapy Blanket. I can only do a few minutes at a time due to my injury, but already I am loving it.
Here is my pattern.
Dales Ripple Therapy Blanket pattern
Size 5mm or J hook
Scraps is any weight yarn
Ch 268
Row1
1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 5sc, *3 sc in next ch, 7 sc, sk 2 chs, 7 sc, rep from * across to last 8 chs, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 6 chs, leaving g last ch I worked. Ch1 , turn.
If you want the ridge in your ripple, for the rest of your rows you will always work each stitch in the back loop of the stitch. I did not do this for my blanket, I just did a normal sc stitch.
Row2 and every row thereafter!
Sk 1st st, 6 sc, * 3 sc in next st, 7 sc, sk 2 sts, 7 sc, continue from * across to last 8 sc, 3 sc in next st, 6 sc, leaving last st unworked. Ch 1 turn.
