I’ve made several pairs of these slippers too..and def give Stephanie credit for her pattern too 😃 when I crochet a bunch of them..I do all the soles first...I do the 4 sizes then label the soles in pairs ...small, med, lg and xlg ...and put them in a plastic bag until I’m ready to make the rest of the slipper for each...for me personally ...crocheting then sole takes more time..this way I get the sole out of the way and then onto making the rest of the slipper..I also sew suede patches on the bottom of the soles to make them non-slip..that’s my routine
Morbid Mary I tried that and the inside of the slipper was very uncomfortable and the recipient could feel the glue dots through the bottom of the slipper..as it isn’t padded so I had to peel off the glue dots as much as I could then I made a suede patch for the inside because I wasn’t able to remove all the glue dots..I then sewed suede patches on the bottoms..that’s only because I probably overdid it with the glue dots and made them too thick. However I think a suede patch would last longer than glue dots..you can get a bag of small suede patches in different colors on Amazon

@@ginag5831 My pleasure. I know how hard it is to work without notes. I have been looking at some from Turkey, They make beautiful shoes but the CC translation is a bit hard to follow. The interpreter has some odd names for the stitches. LOL
@@arritoukiros7063 Thanks! All I did was copy the transcript. You can access that in the 3 dots on the right beside the Share icon. I removed the time stamps.
Just so everyone knows I used medium worsted with an F 3.75 hook and got a perfect 7 1/2 women's size. I am sure a 4mm would work too. When I used a 5mm it was too long. Hope it helps. Then again, everyone's tension is different.
Hi, I just want to thank you for the great job you did making this video so easy to follow. Keep crocheting the way YOU want to. I have made several pairs of these slippers and everyone loves them 😍. However, I always let people know that l used your pattern from YOU TUBE. I make sure I give you your credit. So thank you so much , I love 💕 your channel and I am a subscriber. Keep up the good work 👌.
I just finished making the x-large pair for my friend up north in Dallas. He likes red, so he will have these for Valentine’s Day. I like how you walked us through, step by step.
Just perfect - one pair of these in slippers makes it possible to save on washes for the slippers by washing the inner sole 2 or 3 times for each slipper wash, keeping them fresh!. Smart and easy tutorial - thank you!
I was wondering why my measurements weren't matching. I went back and rewatched the beginning of the video and she says a "4.5 G Hook". All my 4.5 hooks are G+ my G is a 4.0 just wanted to let you know in case the one you are doing doesn't match up. Her tutorial is awesome and well done. Could watch her for days!!!
I know what you mean. I was doing a shoe that I saw and they used a 1.70 and I used a 1.75. was much larger. Who would have thought that .05 would have made that much difference but it does. The # of stitches really adds up. Anyone know how to adjust a pattern by the needle size? I am not certain how but think there should be a way to do it. I am thinking it would be like half a stitch per inch in my case but not sure. It came out about a size 9 when was for a size 7. :( LOL They were using a #10 cotton thread doubled I believe. I had to guess at the size as they didn't give one. It was in Turkish.
THANK YOU SO MUCH STEPHANIE!!!!!!!!!!!! I'VE BEEN WANTING TO MAKE MYSELF SOME OF THESE FOR SO LONG AND THESE ARE PERFECT 😁. YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stephanie Zed I would like to thank you for this video. I love my converse slippers. Did I say mine, lol actually my daughter took them so I will have to make another. A lady is asking me to make her one in a size 7/8 and said she has a wide foot. Will this 7/8 sole work for a wide foot and if not how would I widen it out without changing the sole size? Thank you
This pattern is awesome. These are the best instructions I have ever had for a pattern. I made the medium and large size converse. I wanted to make them for my daughter, her husband, and their daughter. I cannot find a pattern for a child (18mos) size 6 Can you help? Do you have an extra-small size? Thank you
Thank you so very much ❗❣ I tried following several other tutorials and when I tried yours I wished I had tried yours first. I recommend this for anyone who struggles with soles.
Thank you so much Stephanie. So I mentioned @Stephanie - Zed - creations and what else do I mention? Would you please write it down for me and I'll make sure it's goes on with my work. I really appreciate your generosity Stephanie I really think your rather clever😁
Stephanie would you allow me to sell your slippers that I make. And please send me address that I would refer back to you with if you will allow me to. Thank you for considering
Definitely with 2 threads the sole would be more sturdy. You would just have to measure as you go along. probably just omitting the last row. Have fun and let me know how they turned out.
@Stephanie Zed Thank you so much for these videos. There is something very satisfying watching you crochet. I love everything about your video and that you add the text. I'm working on pair #4 at the moment. I do have 2 questions though. First one is for the soles. If I wanted to make 2 with stuffing in between, how would you suggest I go about connecting those without altering the rest of the shoe? (slip stitch, sc, etc? before adding white yarn to blo?) My 2nd question is for the shoe itself. I always seem to have an extra piece of yarn in the middle of the first lace hole but not the other holes. Is there a way to avoid this or am I doing something wrong here? Thanks again!!
For the sole, I have never done that, however, try making the inside sole the size smaller. On the last round of the outside sole, stitch them together. That might work. The other thing you could do is double the yarn for the sole to make it thicker.(you might have to go down a size). For the second question, I use my starting end of the yarn to "adjust" the eyelet. I think I might fast forward that part.😃
Can you please tell me what kind of yarn your using , I used caron one pound and mine come to 8 inches. I even did the baby ones with light weight yarn and it comes out too big. I've been trying for over year and just can't get what I'm doing wrong.
I use #4 medium weight yarn. If you notice, I actually do my single crochet with a yarn under. This actually make the stitch tighter. I also crochet quite tight. Maybe you could try that. 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your easy to follow in such a calming voice, tutorial. You crochet so neat. I am a loose crotcher and I hope mine turns out just like yours. I will assume that it will be the same for the other foot. Take care 😊⚘️
Do you have any videos for making soles for children’s sizes for slippers? I saw this video for adults and the one for baby converse, any sizes in between? My kids are 5 and 6.
Broj očica se ne slaže na početku, 18 u lanac ,3 polu očice i 4 dugačke to je ukupno 25 očica , a lančić ima 28..3 očice su višak na kraju prvog reda 🤔
How can I make it a bit wider & longer? I am trying to make this as soles for a pair of slippers my late dad gave my mom to replace the worn-out rubber soles, size 7. PLEASE help. I'll post my email, at your request if you need to contact me. Thank you.
@@StephanieZed , thank you for the fast reply. How could I make this work? I've never tried to make or replace a sole. What combination of hdc with what else, sc for the back and toes? I need to match the width and length of the rubber sole to replace it. I'm good ar following patterns, but never invented one. 😊
@@StephanieZed , thank you. I will try your recommendations or perhaps your video for the next size up, or both if need be, to see which works. Is it the same pattern just slightly different for the other sizes?
@@StephanieZed Hi, thanks so much for getting back to me. Can't wait to start the tutorial. I have 3 boys who would love these. Your tutorials are really clear. Thank you for sharing.
I have said it in a lot of comments and in videos I have put out after. I will put a note in the description. Thank you. That is why I like to get the tape measure out, just to show the size. 😃
Yesterday I found slipper bottoms called Souls on RU-vid and I crocheted one it measures 7 in by 3 in for a child I cannot find the pattern back help! Please
Excellent tutorial! Great video production quality, too. QUESTION: Please advise your recommendations for using chunky yarn such as a 5 or 6 wt. Thank you.
Couple of questions: should have sizes go up a size? And when creating the sole, while doing the first single stitches I noticed you wrap the yarn to the right on the first and to the left on the second stitch. Does it matter?
I do a yarn under. It just makes the stitch tighter. It is more like an “x” rather than a “v” in the stitch. Either way is fine. I don’t understand your first question. But make the sole just a bit smaller than your foot. It does stretch.
I thought I followed instructions completely, but ended up with an 11" sole, which is way too big for my needs. Ended up having to rip it all out. Not happy.
Thank you for this tutorial. Especially happy that you included the printed pattern. Made it easy to pause and follow. I will search for more of your videos as I like your instructional technique.
Hello Stephanie, I am trying to make this sole but my measurements are not coming out correctly. I have used a smaller hook thinking it would work. Suggestions on what I may be doing wrong. Thank you!
You could try to double the yarn. Just for the sole. This will also give a thicker sole. And try a 5 mm hook. And remember, it will stretch. So a bit smaller than your foot is okay.
I had to use markers - a lot. I also double counted the areas with the large amount of sc and put a marker at, for example, 26 stitches over. Helped a lot. Made 4 sets for friends who wanted them. I wish there was a written pattern.
Can you still do this pattern with a 4.25 mm G hook? That's the only size hook I have. I'd have to specially order a 4.5mm hook because none of the craft stores I get my yarn or hooks have a 4.5mm.
