I am only 10 years old and i have already maid these for my mom's birthday i am trying to keep it a surprise but i feel like bursting out that you have taught me these. I love it. You are amazing.
I was just stressing out about what to make for my sister in laws birthday tomorrow that had to be done in a jiffy....I can't believe I came across your gloves...never ever done a fingerless one before....but it has turned out amazingly beautiful!! Thank you so much, it was fast like lightening..hahaah Thank you soo much!!
I'm puzzled like many others here regarding stitch count at the end. After 3 tries I resorted to basic arithmetic. 36+4=40 chains, 40 less 4(first DC plus 1 CH)= 36 less 22 (skipped chains in between the v stitches)=14 less 11 (v stitches)=3 remaining chains. I can't figure out how you managed 4 at the end.
The formula for the v-stitch is crochet a chain of a multiple of 3 + 4, so she made a chain of 36 (12x3)+4....the 4 chains is for a double crochet. Then you crochet a double in the 4th chain from your hook. You have now 2 double crochet. Next skip 2 chains and make a v-stitch ( 1 dc - ch1 - 1dc )...skip 2 chains and make a v-stitch. Do this til you have 4 chains left...skip 2 chain and make 1 dc in the last 2 chains. Hope this makes more sense 😉
I glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I was doing a chain of 33 plus 4 and ended up with 3 chains left. I even did a chain of 36 plus 4 and still ended up with 3 chains. I'm ready to just add an extra chain to the beginning.
I should be able to make these longer right and with a single crothet? To reach farther up the arm and cover more of the forearm, and have less holes in the pattern so that less air comes in and they are warmer.
Thank you for this video. I'm making two pair for my daughters. I do believe they will love them. I just realized, I know how to make something other than granny squares. Wow!!!
I just stated crocheting and you are the best person I have watched so far. I learn so much better through repetition thank you so much for making videos!!
I had the same issue. Ended up bodging it & adding in more stitches in the gap. Still looks okay for a first attempt. I wasn’t wanting to unpick to the beginning so this was the only was around the problem.
The size of wrist didn’t change but the Palm size became so small that it covered only my back of hand. Pity I love it and can’t find out how did it happen.
Sarrah Wilson i made six pairs of these for christmas last year. What i did was find someone i knew had about the same size and used them as a template. Those who had smaller hands like me that i knew were quite similar, i just winged it and it worked out fine. But if You’re still unsure then i think there are some sizing charts on Pinterest mabye :)
@@sarrahwilson8149 no of course not! Just do whatever you want :) you can just skip over the color changing parts kn the video. You just continue chaining 3 and turning your work :D
I would say use whats available. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have all the suggested materials. Plus too, your project would certainly be most beautiful as it would be your very own unique project. Best of luck
Thank you very much for the video. The gloves are so sweet. I was wondering if there were some way to increase the Length? I'm new to crochet and I would really like to make these Longer
Since this is an older tutorial I'm Really hoping to get a reply. When I change colors, I always get a bump and don't know how to fix it. I've rewatched the video a million times but can't seem to get it right. Suggestions? Thank you
I like and enjoying this pattern I am making it along with you. One thing I have found out about CC /or joining a new yarn is to do so at the last loop of what ever stitch you are doing; that way the change is not in the row you are working in. Thank you for your tutorial's
Hi. I LOVE your tutorials! Just asked a question on your new tutorial about the advanced foundation chain. Probably should've asked here instead... 1. Can that chain be used on this pattern? My mom wanted warmers but stopped at the thumb (she didn't want any further). I tried MANY times making them but everytime I tried, most of the 'V's looked like an X. 2. Does the kind of yarn matter? Used Patrons Classic Wool, Worsted and Caron Simply Soft. The X happened with both yarns. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
yes you can use the method on anything as it's just sowing you how to work into the back loop and not the front loop. Without seeing your work, it's hard fro me to give guidance on where you might be going wrong. The type of yarn shoudn't make a difference x
Hi! I'm just starting to learn crochet and of I course your tutorial is 4 years old. :-/ I had the same problems with a lot of other people... 3 instead of 4 at the end. Gonna try it again VERY slowly, lol. I've tried to find the answer to the following but can't... can I still use most of this pattern to make wrist warmers WITHOUT the thumb portion? Thx! Great video and very easy to understand. Love how you go slow and are repetitive (best way for me to learn!)
Mabye You’re skipping a stitch somewhere? But if you only have three at the end you can always add an extra stitch in the beginning chains. Just a tip! :)
Thank you for this awesome tutorial! I am having issues with the multiples. I have followed you exactly during this tutorial(three times) and I'm still only getting 3 chains left at the end when I should have 4 before the 2 DC at the end of the first row. What am I doing wrong? I've checked and double\triple checked that I didn't skip too many along the way and my chain is exactly what yours is in the video. Please help!
I was having the same problem too - ended up doing it three times and put stitch markers in to make sure I wasn't going into the wrong stitches but I still ended up with only 3 so I just did a chain of 41 and followed the video. I've finished tutorial one and it's worked out fine 😊
The link doesn't work for the written instructions :-( Would you mind fixing it? I got a little confused at the end, I am trying to make these for Christmas gifts!
This is not making sense to me. If I chain 40, and follow the directions, I am left with 3 chains at the end of the first row, not 4 chains. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks
Hello! First, I would like to say, I adore these wrist warmers. Secondly, I was curious, because I am racking my brain trying to figure out why this pattern is not working for me, but I think I have it figured out. Please please please correct me if I'm wrong! I used the same stitch count as you with the 36 + 4, but when I get to the end of round 1, I only have 3 chains left, and not the 4 you mentioned. If I go to the end, before the last 4 I'm supposed to end with, and where you're supposed to skip 2 chains only skip one before my last V stitch, I would end with 4 chain spaces at the end. Is this correct? I hope I haven't completely confused you.... does any of this make any sense, or am I completely way off on this? I really want to make these! Thank you for sharing and happy crocheting!!
I had the same problem, so I took out the "v" stiches to get it back to just the chain and recounted and found I was one chain off, after I added it I had my four chains at the end. I hope this helps.
i tried this but since i have small wrists i only ended up doing a base of 18. This meant that when we decrased it got super small on top quickly. :( could someone give me a tip as to how to adjust the pattern to make it better for small wrists?
Brilliant! I like the way you have used the same V stitch as the Infinity scarf/ snood..... I have just completed the snood so can't wait to do matching wrist warmers. If I make the wrist warmers out of the 6.5 Rialto Chunky yarn, will the wrist warmers be too thick and chunky? Thanks for sharing the tutorial video.
I think a thicker yarn will work, as long as your foundation chain is a multiple of 3, and you measure the chain around your wrist for fit (0:25 to 1:25). Fewer foundation chains would be necessary with the thicker yarn; otherwise, you'd work up the mitts the same way. I hope you have success; thick, chunky yarn is lovely!
Hi ya great tutorials made your lovely chunky scarf if using chunky wool for these wrist warmers what hook size would you use to get the write size ? Thanks
Hi Sarah, Thanks for this tutorial, I started these yesterday because of the cold. Your explanations are easy to follow, and the wristwarmers grow quickly. Ithese are for me but I wil also be making them for friends for Christmas. Do you have a shop with patterns etc? Barbara.
That’s because you actually need to chain 41. I wanted my gloves looser so I chained 29 and used a .5 hook. The equation is: 3(x) + 8 = y. So... Her 41 chain pattern is: 3(x) + 8 = 11 My 29 chain pattern is: 3(x) + 8 = 7
The written pattern is not available anymore! :( Is there any other way I could get it? I want to make this at work, but I am not allowed to use the internet
+Bella Coco Hi Sarah-Jane, I too am having the same problem, the link to the written pattern on your blog isn't working. I love this pattern and have made my first pair of gloves! Really want to print the written pattern so I can make these when I don't have Internet access to watch your video. Please help! Thanks :-) x
I am having trouble and can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I chain stitch 30, then add 4. Then I start the row....I skip 3 stitches and treble into the 4th. From there you say to skip 2 and treble into the 3rd stitch, then keep going until you are left with 4 stitches at the end. But I am always left with 3 stitches at the end, not 4?? So if I have chained 34(30+4), skip 3, tr into 4th, I'm now down to 30 left, skip 2, tr into 3rd, I'm now down to 27, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now down to 24, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now down to 21, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now down to 18, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now down to 15, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now down to 12, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now down to 9, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now down to 6, skip 2, tr into 3rd, now I'm left with 3 stitches...not 4 stitches? What am I doing wrong?? Help!
HI! Love these wrist warmers but have the hardest time making them look pretty. First, I have the same problem as the comments below (3 chains instead of 4). Also, the 'V' looks more like an X and 'sewing' the 2 sides together is a joke... it just looks plain awful, sigh. Gonna keep trying bc I love these so much.
I keep having the same problem where I get to the end of the first row, just before switching yarn colors, and I've run out of chain, so I'm left with only one triple crochet at the end. What am I doing wrong? How do i fix it? Can I just leave it and move on? I'm going to try moving on for now, but any feedback would be helpful and much appreciated :)
You might find it helpful to take a look at the written instructions here: www.sarahjaynefragola.com/2014/11/crochet-wrist-warmers-tutoria.html 😊 Remember to work your first stitch into the fourth chain from the hook, and make sure you're skipping two chains in between each V stitch.
Pretty sure it's gotta b + 5 .... have tried so many times and am only ever left with 3 chains on foundation stitch. Tried in different multiples of 3 and always the same result.
The link to the second part is underneath the video where it says 'show more', however for your convenience here is the link:- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S4UAoJUMzWk.html :)

can you put close caption on it? bez I am deaf and I cant hear what you say on video. I cant watch and cant catch how many count it to be need crochet. :) so can you please put close caption? thanks, Brenda P.S. I love this wrist glove. ;)
brenda russell Hi Brenda, forgive me but I'm not too sure what you mean or how to do it. If you can advise me, I will do all I can to make it easier for you to follow x
Bella Coco hi, my name is Brenda. Go see Iheartstitching and find the fingerless mitten and then you will see the bottom and see the CC on it. that is call Close Caption. and click it and u will see it. that is what I am talk about it. hope you can fix for all the deaf people who want make some the crochet stuffs. thanks, Brenda.
I purchased the Stylecraft Special DK yarn (white) and mine just doesn't look the same as yours. Mine is kinda fuzzy. Is there a different mix of yarn for DK in the UK?
When I changed color from white to blue, I saw a huge difference in the way the yarn handles. I like the blue a lot better... less fuzzy and I think thicker. The labels are the same on both skeins.
Your tutitorials are good. I have a question though. Why in most of what I've viewed do you Always use a Small hook? Is it because you're more comfortable with the 3.5 size? Because most generally that small hook is used for "Lacey type projects". Myself I prefer to use 6-6.5 unless using Chunky or Larger yarn. Don't get me wrong, your patterns are nice and comparable to most on RU-vid, only they never use this 3.5 hook. Pretty colors btw 🙂
hi Bella thank you I find it very easy to follow your videos thank you it's hard for me to see because of my diabetes so don't go any farther please and you have patient God bless keep it up
This stitch normally lays quite flat so I would make sure that you're skipping the right number of stitches, and working the correct number of chain spaces 😊 You can find the written pattern to check against here: www.bellacoco.co.uk/2014/11/crochet-wrist-warmers-tutoria.html
I just bought my crochet hook today and Im trying to make this but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right because I repeated it again and again up to the chain only and I really don't know why mine doesn't look like yours because when you said I have to chain three then turn your work then treble into the top of the second treble I can't find it cause I changed color and the knot was covering some of the stitches
She says at the beggining to chain in multiples of three, so make sure your chain is a multiple of three then insert the hook into the first loop to test and see if it fits or measure it with a ruler, if it doesnt chain three more if it's too small or pull three chains out and try again. If it fits then chain four more for turning. There is no set amount of chains for everyones wrist because there are different sizes of yarn and diffent sized hooks and everyone crochets with a different tension, so this is why you need to test to find out and why no one can tell you the exact amount of chains with only the measurement of the wrist.
Okay, maybe I'm miscalculating here but when I go to do the DC at the start I only end up with 3 chains at the end, not 4, am I doing it wrong? I'm so very confused.
