This is the best sweater vest crochet I've seen so far! imo crochet sweater vests tend to look... eh... but I LOVE yours!!

The tightness of your crochet was really satisfying to watch

For anyone wondering how much yarn would be needed for a weight 4 medium worsted. I used about 700 yards of green (my main color) and maybe 600 for my secondary color which was white. I did 21 inches across rather than 22 and I will edit this post when I finish to measure it going up. I would still buy 100 more yards than I’ve said to be safe especially if you plan for yours to be larger. I did 76 rows of the rib stitch crochet to achieve 21 inches across👍🏾 again I will edit to update on how many inches going up I had from the base of my rib stitch to the top of my V neck. One quick update: for the beginning of the v neck I did 6 rows straight from marker to marker before beginning the creation of my V neck last update! So I finished with a final length of 27 top to vertically and 21 horizontally. It was the length of a dress on me (I’m 5,2) so to make it shorter crochet less vertically and do make it fit tighter do less of the ribbing. Keep in mind: your panels are made separate so that will add size. I recommend 14 inches for a medium tbh Update: I finished a while ago and found it was too large to way for my size. I finished with a large to extra large in my opinion. Or a medium for someone who like baggy clothing. I would use a large crochet hook a 5.5 mm to a 6 mm because the smaller the hook the tighter your stitches which makes it stiffer. Make sure you keep a measuring tape on hand because it will stretch out so chain fewer than you think you’ll need because at the end it’ll most likely be stretched an inch farther

I love how you hold the hook. I only ever crochet "up" if that makes sense. but like holding the hook down seems to be much faster! I'll have to try it.

Wow! Your sweater vest looks beautiful and from what I’ve seen, it the best! Can I ask what measurements you used for your vest? Everyone I have seen is doing a cropped vest but I want a longer oversized one. I am mot sure what measurements that will be.
