Days before Christmas in 2018, police in a Georgia county got a tip from someone an individual who feared a little girl was dead. The child hadn’t been seen since October, and when investigators visited the home, they made a shocking discovery.
Not only was 14-year-old Mary Crocker found dead, but they also found the body of her older brother, who vanished two years prior. The question on everyone’s mind after the grim discovery: How could two kids go missing, one for over two years, and no one notice?

Why can't the community ever be supportive before children are found dead? AFTER they passed everyone wanted to say what they noticed... how would that change anything now? Speak up! Do it anonymously! This could have prevented just like many death's of children!

Red Lotus, The lady in this video that is fighting for custody of the remaining son that has C.P., is not the bio mom of the 2 children that were murdered. Also, let's be real here, She seemed to (in my opinion) have some disabilities of her own. However, she should still try to get custody of her son. I'm sure that with some help that she could take much better care of him than his sick, evil " bio father" was. I didn't even hear them mention a bio mom of the two older children that are deseased so I'm wondering if she hasn't been involved for many years or if, perhaps she passed away. If I were an investigator, I would look into that because, (in my opinion) there may be a third body somewhere from many years ago! That guy & his newest wife plus her family are all very suspicious looking and I'm surprised that it took this long for people to report this.

Maureen Riordan she was in the restaurant where I was working a few days after the discovery. She’s not all there but mostly she was narcissistic. She just wanted to tell everyone about herself and how SHE was. Even her interview on tv she said “I” so many times. I just kept thinking what about what those children went through 😔

I love after the kids are dead, then ALL the neighbors come out, & say " Oh, I saw bruises, or I saw weird punishments." They we're afraid.......afraid of what? Mr. & Mrs. Hamburglar doing what? What could they possibly do. They're bullies, bullies who pick on children. children that they are three times bigger then. If I saw, I would stand right in their face smiling as I called & reported it. They would've done shit. An ambulance would've been needed for all of them. Alliecatt Minto. I agree! this is always the case. The sad truth is people just do not care and will not go out of their way unless it benefits them in some way, like coming out afterward to be seen as a caring compassionate person, which they are not. Just as scary, the authorities are not much help either, often turning a blind eye. Because it is just too much work to help an abused child!

In the UK, you can't take your children out of school without the school alerting authorities unless you've alerted them with plans to homeschool with socialising plans in place. and if you choose to homeschool, you get regular checkups and the children are tested academically to make sure they are hitting targets. The US needs this system. The schools need to alert the right authorities

I don’t think they meant that homeschooling in and of itself is bad (or maybe they do! I personally don’t think so), I think they mean that folks who suddenly wanna pull their kids out of regular school to homeschool them should be checked out. I mean, I had a friend who was ruthlessly bullied to the point of trying to commit suicide so her mom pulled her out and homeschooled her and she THRIVED, so I’m definitely all for homeschooling. It’s just that abusive people want complete control, and a good way to ensure that power over your kids is to keep them home. I don’t want regular families who just want the best for their kids to be looked at like they’re potential abusers, but I do think it’s important for child services to keep a better eye out for situations like this.

Unsupervised home schooling needs to stop. Parents who are doing a good job with the education and caring for their children have nothing to worry about, but home schooling is often used as a cover for parents who want to be left alone so they can abuse their children without interference.

*Long Story* when I was in 9th grade, I was in a science class where we sat alphabetically. My friend Alex sat next to me, because we had the same last name. One day Alex didn’t come to class and my teacher walked over and he asked me where Alex was. I said I didn’t know, and he said, “isn’t he your brother?” Alex is black, and I’m Polynesian, so I think our teacher just assumed by skin color and last name we were related. I laughed and said no, and he apologized. But that was just a kid missing class for one day. We need more concerned teachers like Mr.Stratler.

@@LeLanisMommyAtl it was hard to tell because most of us didnt know them outside of work. I started walmart the same day he did and he talked about his kids but not very often. But nor did I really ask you know ?? I remember one time he told me his son ( I'm assuming the one who's still alive) wasnt doing very well with his health / disability issues and he was going to probably be off for a bit. But I never really spoke to him outside of work unless I was shopping or he was shopping . He was always so nice and offered me help with my son and everything. About a week or so before he was arrested he was working and i was in there shopping and he told me if I needed anything or wanted anything for my son for christmas to let him know . Its still crazy to think about this . I met his wife plenty of times but she was always snooty towards me and probably other people. Didnt say much just kinda turned her nose up . But before the kids passed I never really saw them with her or him at the store. I know some of my fellow associates met the young lady but I never did.

From April 2019 The children's father Elwyn Crocker Sr., his wife Candice Crocker, her mother Kim Wright and Candice Crocker's brother Mark Anthony Wright are charged with murder and face the death penalty. Roy Anthony Prater, Kim Wright's boyfriend, is also charged with murder but does not face the death penalty. The five pleaded not guilty to the charges in April 2019.

Homeschooling seems a factor in so many child deaths. There needs to be some regular welfare checks on homeschooled kids. Why neighbours didnt make an anonymous call to social services is beyond me.

Those are Tiger Ridge or Silver Hill people off the river in Effingham county done moved from by the river into town. They all inbreed and the law just overlooks it. They didn't kill the other kid because he was handicapped and they were getting a big check to take care of him. He is the only one that DFACS specifically went there to check on. They believed the family members lies and never checked on those two sweet little ones!

@@lucindalove7606 they also tend to be both physically and mentally healthier, far more intelligent, learning actual LIFE SKILLS as opposed to the "common core" garbage, that decimated the small shred of true education kids got in the public indoctrination program, now indoctrinated is just about all they get from public schools...well... that and "participation trophies" because if there's one thing the public school system instills in kids, it's that there is no point in working to make something of yourself, when you can live in your parents basement for free, collect welfare, and keep protesting, hoping that one day America will be a full fledged socialist country and if all else fails cry racism, sexism, thingism or whichever "ISM" is trending that day.

What a sad story. It’s a real shame that no one stepped up and asked where these children were. I know the one woman said they were a standoffish family. Not very friendly. What kind of damn police department do they have. If they would have done their jobs maybe the girl would still be alive so I blame them as much as the killer for not looking into the first kid's disappearance. This is why if u ever suspect a child is being mistreated in their home, REPORT IT!! Always go with your gut even if you’re not 100% certain it’s happening. Dont ever say well it’s none of my business bc you’re probably the only voice these kids have so stand up for them!! Before it’s too late!!

A vigil??? Support after they are abused, then dead and quickly forgotten, and everybody thinks lighting a few candles fixes anything? Teachers, preachers, neighbors...nobody cared. The hypocrisy here is so ridiculous. They are finally at peace awaiting the Lord's call. The rest of that family will miss that call.

Being raised in a VERY SMALL, rural community I suspect that residents didn’t speak up about what they saw because of the mentality that it’s ‘not my business,’.....’let them raise their family their way’.....and not because they weren’t willing to ‘take the time’ as the segment suggests. Rural communities have loads of time and gossip moves fast. I do agree that we need to find a balance, but the balance should be between letting others do it their way and allowing the community to feel okay about speaking up when they see something strange.

The reporter and others are blaming neighbors who reported them and were ignored. Its like saying "why didn't you notice the boy was gone since 2016 after you reported the family to the police and DCFS?" The teachers had to know they were abused. And also most people have to have proof of home schooling and get paperwork when pulling kids out or they will be arrested.

I don’t agree with questioning the family when you have concerns. I would approach her authorities with my concerns so as not to cause any further harm to the children. I would also tell people if you are worried you might be wrong do it anyway.

The neighbour made me laugh " we thought it was just another drug bust but when the tape went up I knew it were the kids cause we hadn't seen them in so long" Sooooooooo...... why the fuck hadn't you rang any1 about not seeing them instead of just waiting 2 find out.... All the neighbours apparently noticed something BUT as usual no one did shit about it...... 😡

Uhm I homeschool my son and Monday's through Thursdays he gets taught by his teacher through video chat as well as his class mates as well as his whole school. He also get wellness checks once a month as well as his classmates and online school. Not sure what homeschooling programs you think is bad but the one my son is in is very involved. They also go on field trips. You should do your research on homeschooling programs before you go around talking ignorant. Last time I checked kids are dying from mass shootings and bullying and also being sexually abused by school staff in public schools.

I don't understand why people have children they don't want just to do these kinds of things. With get don't have them or give them up for adoption if you can't handle parenting. I tried for years to have children. I couldn't imagine doing anything like this to my kids. If a crazy thought about hurting my kids ever crossed my mind, I'd hurt myself before I hurt them. Even with PPD hurting the kids was never a thought. I was overwhelmed but never wanted to hurt them. There had to have been red flags here

It’s so sad that the community cared more about the children then the father and step family. I hate that the neighbors didn’t speak up sooner but I think so many people are scared like they said or are also unsure to report something and then come to find out nothing is wrong. But it’s so sad what happened to these children and I can’t stop thinking why and how individuals can do this to anyone especially a child!! I know this is going to sound bad but I am in one way happy these children aren’t still living through terror and being punished in these horrendous ways and I just hope they are at peace now being taken out of this situation in such a scary way.
