I´ve got them 4 years ago, they were 550 euro....now they are 670 euro....but they are worth every penney...I wear them a lot, they look awasome, are amazingly comfortable and after 4 years (I wear them on an avarage of twice a week) they still look super beautiful....I use 1 or 2 times per year the Colonnil 1909 supreme creme de luxe colourless to take care of them

Unfortunately prices have gone up after Covid, shortages and of course inflation. It’s a significant rise but they are still good shoes 🙌

I have the tan on the 240 last, slightly more almond toe. I generally need to size up 1/2 on C&J lasts, but I have wide feet and wear insoles.

Thank you Kostas for the great Introduction to this beautiful Dark Brown Scotch grain book from CJ. It is pebble grain than the hatch grain right? The storm welt design and dainite sole all make this practical boot even more traditional English!

Hatch grain is different with a much smaller discrete grain! This is pebble or Scotchgrain!

Misiu Academy Cool, Kostas, as what I understood. Guess Horween pioneer Hatch is the best now on the market? (In terms of the most resemblance to the original Russian Reindeer)

@@nonbespokeelegance2481 Possibly, I don't have much experience with the leather. For example Carmina fakes it completely. I think Horween is just the most consistent tannery for these kinds of leathers!

Greetings from the US. This is such a beautiful boot. I have Black Edition Coniston on the Vibram lug sole , in 7.5UK and I just love them. Like you, I am between a UK 7.5 and 8. But I have somewhat wide feet and it took a long time to break these in so my pinkie toe would not be slightly pinched. I think the 8 will be best. I'd like to contact you regarding this boot.

Hi Roland, the black one is a CJ exclusive but a nice boot nonetheless. My advice is to always take comfort over snug for your foot health. Put an insole really. You can contact me at info@thenobleshoe.com for anything!

Mr. Kostas, what is your experience or opinion of Berwick 1707 brand? I believe they’re made in Spain (Mallorca?). They also have their version of the Coniston boot.

Hello, unfortunately I don’t plan on buying any of these as I am in my high end part of my shoe journey, but I think they are a good alternative to Meermin :)

Would you also recommend to size up in comparison to other C&J models? I have cordovan Bradfords in 8.5 and I don't know if I should take the same size for the Coniston boots.

Based on Crockett instructions the Bradford 341 last will fit similar to the 325 and is considered true to size. In this case I would take 8.5! The price for the Coniston at my shop is currently $519 and available through mail!

Super classy! Is this a true cap toe? Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but it looks like I see an overlap line 1/4 of an inch past the cap toe stitching. Either way, it’s a beautiful boot. I love the modest look.

What do you make of the latest Chelsea 11? I am keen on it because of the Commando sole primarily for slushy winter weather. How does sizing work on that?

Hello Sayeed, I haven’t had a chance to try the CJ 335 Last of the Chelsea 11. It seems to be similar to the 325 but with a roomier front part. From research it says you should go true to size. From what I read you will be using it during winter so probably with heavier socks and it should be ok!

@@MisiuAcademy Thank you very much. Roomy is ok for me generally speaking. I use a lot of Trickers Stow boots and like a bit of space up front. I imagine the grain they use is the same as on their other shoes so I am curious to see how it will patina over time. Appreciate the help once again. :-)

Hi, hard to find an exact copy but similar style is the Carlos santos 8866, I am sure Carmina, cheaney and cobbler Union have similar ones too!

Cool video! I have been looking for a review video of brown coniston boots for so long! Does someone have experience with "top-level" boots like the Edward Green Galway models?I would be interested in the differences between these two. In my opinion, the C&J coniston offers a very similar quality for a third of the price.

Hi Julian, The best copies in my opinion come from Vass and Antonio Meccariello in the high end. The best copies for value/budget aesthetics come from Carlos santos in my opinion. My opinion is the more you spend there is a case of diminishing returns, that’s not to say that brands like EG are not worth it but rather brands such as C&J are good enough, there are so many brands now in the $300-500 range that make really good stuff it’s much harder to justify.

@@rey_s90 That is exactly what I usually advocate. I feel that the 300-500$ range is the best bang for your buck at the moment with great competitive options. The Coniston in particular for $519.99 is really good. After that you begin getting diminishing returns yes, but you are also entering enthusiast territory. Usually you appreciate things like heritage, little details in construction and things like this. When you build up your core collection like I do (about 30 pairs) then I would rather buy 1 great expensive shoe per year rather than 5 entry ones hehe. It's a fun "sport"!

Hi Sean, the prices have been since adjusted since that because they were too low out of respect for Crockett & Jones. However the Roughout Coniston will cost you $530 or so in my shop and the grain version $580 which is still a killer deal.

Septieme Largeur, Cobbler Union, TLB Mallorca are great brands. Vass Budapest is more expensive but has big sales right now.

These look really attractive to me except for the price. I'm done with 'low quality' shoes that only last a few years. I'd rater pay a premium and keep them for longer.

They are pretty good, though you can begin buying superb boots at $300. Check out Carlos santos on my website! Other great brands include Carmina and TLB Mallorca or evening Cheaney!

I live in Sweden and we had tons of snow this week and dainite works well for me. Same as ridgeway. Commando is a little grippier

Honestly with the increasing price of Crockett trickers might be better value. However if you can afford it it’s still great and iconic. I made a cheaper alternative with Carlos santos just this week in fact.

@kato2395 really? If that’s the case the Coniston is a no brainer. Remember this review was 3 years ago. If you want to get a Coniston I’d be glad to help you from my store but if you are talking pounds, you are probably in the UK and it makes more sense to buy locally i’m not sure.

So I want to make sure if the last they use to make the Coniston really fits me and the boot doesn't crush my pinky toe. So I guess I am going to have to try them myself in person. I'm a fan of Crockett and Jones - well, with a pair of brown calf derbys 'Talbot' they are called. I bought them second hand and I am very pleased with them. I do think C&J leather is good quality. The stitch density on the shoes is high and I like the general quality. They are very 'English'. The Coniston boot does look good:-) Best Tony

I just got the coniston dark brown and wore them the first day for about 5k and after that I’ve worn them like 4 other times. Honestly they are heavy and uncomfortable. Every time I take them off is a relief and when I put them on I force my self hoping I will break them in . I don’t know but for 550 euros I’d Exoect them to feet perfectly and I kinda regret the purchase.

They don’t actually make the shoes 100% in Northampton. Their driving shoes are made in Italy.
