My review of the Crosley record player. Let me know if you have any questions!
I do not own nor did I create the song used in this demonstration. My demonstration is permissible under fair use. Furthermore, If a representative of Johnny Cash attempted to claim otherwise, that would be extremely disappointing and they should know better.

Mine too!it really didn’t do anything to it! I have a different model than him and my model has the best reviews and i don’t have any problems with it! It only skips when the needle it dirty but it only collects dirt from the packaging and the dust in my house.My records do not get ruined by it and they all work perfectly fine.

You may have gotten a good one. Crosleys QC is crap. You may get one with the correct tracking force or you may get one that is way over. When it is way over it can destroy your record. It’s a gamble I wouldn’t take.

Goodaye. Here’s a little speech from someone who knows their shit about record players. I’ve had a few in the past and have finally settled for a pioneer PL-990. Not the best but does the job well. As far as everyone who says cheap record players like this destroy your records, yes this is true to a degree. The reason for this is the high tracking force mainly. But audiophiles over exaggerate it massively. They do damage your records more than good quality players do, but not to the extent in which the vinyl doesn’t work anymore. You could go for years on a shitty record player and barely hear the damage when you play the same record on a new and better one. There have been tests done so go and check them out. Enjoy your record player anyways mate, I know a few people who have the same one. Sure, I wouldn’t use a Crosley personally, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend putting any expensive records on there. But for just cheap ones, go for it. I mentioned this subject to my grandad a while back, and he made the good point of that good record players back in the day were even more crude than the shitty cheap ones we have today. And yet I still own some of his old vinyl and they still sound great!

Nicole P 😂yeah, thought I should get it out there because I too used to have a very cheap player. Was worried to put my vinyl on it after hearing all of the horror stories but I’m not so hateful towards them because at the end of the day, my cheap one got me into vinyl and now I have a pretty nice setup. I also know quite a few people with Crosleys and having one has got them into vinyl. Sure, I recommend you upgrade after about a year but at the end of the day, all the rumours are true but over exaggerated!

Hi! I just got my first my first record player as a gift and I’m in love with it’s design. It is a Create Record Player Compact. This week I bought my first vinyl (from a live performance, with a lot of bass) and when I got to play it, it was constantly skipping parts of the songs. I tried it in another Create player and it wouldn’t skip. But that second Create player had external speakers connected. Is that the only solution? Or is there a way of “calibrating” these record players? Thank you 😊
@miguelsalami
@miguelsalami 4 года назад
The adapter you referred to is for a 7" 45 record most only have 2 songs on them one on each side. The built in speakers would sound great if you upgraded them to good quality ones. The needle arm should have adjustable weight on it to avoid skipping. Lastly this is a portable "on the go" turntable hence the suitcase design so yes it's a poor choice for a home system. You Should have bought the DJ100A for a few dollars more the Quality & design is like Night & Day.

Same! I got a Crosley Coupe as a gift and the music can still be heard through the speakers when using headphones. Should that be happening? Also when playing vinyl and using headphones I can hear some sort of interference and high pitch feedback. @royalpemberton8724
@royalpemberton8724 4 года назад
I couldn't see it from the camera angle and the lighting, but I'm pretty sure that Crosley had the rock-bottom el cheapo all-plastic stylus on it. (The tip may be a wee bit of diamond, but the remainder is entirely one piece of plastic.) Those are very stiff and won't allow the stylus to follow heavily modulated grooves, hence the skipping. You can buy an upgrade stylus with an aluminium cantilever bonded to the plastic part via a rubber compliance that is much easier on records. (Most newer machines now are fitted with this better stylus.) I would like to see one of these players undergo an A/B comparison of the two types of styli just to see if that change of stylus makes that improvement.

this is a late reply, but oh well. I absolutely love this design too and have seen many companies come out with this design in gorgeous colours. But, I found that they were all crap, and simply only useful for aesthetic furnishing. It is annoying, seeing as my record player is a bit dull, and doesn't look that appealing (most decent players have a small colour range like black, brown or white), but the quality is better.

STAY AWAY FROM RECORD PLAYERS WITH SPEAKERS BUILT IN!! If you see one that's made from wood take a closer look! Ones built in the 1950s had speakers built in, but had the TT isolated from the cabinet with rubber and springs (think shocks on a car, same principle) usually those that have vacuum tubes and can be a good find! But never pay more than $75 unless you really want it, because unless you do the work yourself, they'll charge an arm and a leg to restore which is BS because if your skilled you can restore tube equipment for around $20 but they'll charge you $100+ for literally an hour's worth of work.

Well, most turntables track at like 2.5 grams. These are more like 4 or 5. It does not make much of a difference because the specs on the original LPs said they could take 6 grams of force. It will definitely wear down records SLIGHTLY faster, but not so fast that you can tell a difference by 10 plays of the record, like some audiophiles that only like the most expensive stuff want you to believe. The skipping problem seems to be only in this unit, because there are countless other examples of Crosley cruisers that work flawless. I will agree that they do not sound good unless plugged into an external audio source.

They're fine if all you want is a toy. There's no sense at all in getting into vinyl if you plan on playing it on something so cheap and nasty---you'll never hear what records are all about.

All of the obvious issues are all addressed by people who know the audio as well as equipment "audiophiles" If you will. But what I really think is some simpler explanations being missed. No....you don't play records on it at full blast. But a real sound system will do the same. Skip. It's not made for audiophiles However the right in front of your face that your missing.... Portability!! You take it along (instead of your good turntable) And plug that in thru the really or aux cord to listen on someone else's stereo equipment. I don't have one. However I would tote that around before my personal turntable. And again I don't have one. So I'm curious if the internal speakers cut off when the aux is used. If so...purpose served. J.m.i. (just my opinion) Thank you and God bless Paul.O

I know "Ain't No Grave" well and when it started playing I was like "Okay give it a second" but the second his vocals came in. It's all treble on the vocal tone and the actual music is barely there. There is a huge bass line and feel in and to that song and you can't hear a single bit of it or really ANY of the music for that matter. There is ZERO clarity and it just sounds like blah. The subtlety In the composition of the song is completely lost ... It's just terrible sound quality. I'm not even trying to be mean but, my goodness, it DOES actual sound like a huge bag of rubbish. It Literally sounds like the whole song is being strangled or suffocated and it is struggling to find a way to get out and away from that 'record player'. It sounds like a dollar store pair of headphones. Horrible. Horrible Redenbacher.

I'm trying to sell my piece of crap Crosley on Facebook Marketplace and that was the first question I got. Imagine my embarrassment when I had to explain that the Bluetooth function is to hook up your phone not Bluetooth speakers...

125 downvotes are Crosley employees. I bought one to try on black friday. I don't think it'll hurt records. But it is the worst sounding record player I've ever heard. The ol ladies usb powered no name one is better. I'm judging on the audio outs. I don't care about the internal speakers. But audio out to my audio systems, its bad. Really, Really bad.
