Well in fact, most people will be handling those guns without a stand so the way is testing this is accurate ... Same person shoot every guns ... So weight, handling, accuracy, and overall are being reviewed so for me seems ledgit 🤔😉
I respectfully submit and, I know, that is usually followed by some ahole leaving a disrespectful comment, but I promise, I ain't that ahole. I appreciate you taking the time to create this content to help us out. I am too old and lazy to create RU-vid content and I learn so much from watching videos like yours and that makes me appreciative of your work. I also know a good deal about airguns from many, many years in the hobby. I probably own 40 or 50 guns of all types and I test them with 40 -50 varieties of pellets in .177 and .22, each. I don't film all that testing, which is where the lazy part comes in, LOL, but I do do alot of testing. From that testing I have learned that shooting the same pellet in two different guns when you compare them usually won't tell you anything about the COMPARATIVE accuracy of the guns. It might inform you about which gun shoots THAT PELLET the most accurately, but that's all. I'd like to see you first try to find the most accurate pellet for each gun, then do a head to head. I understand that that costs more and takes more time, but it also gives you more content, when you think about it. I also, respectfully, suggest that you sit and brace the guns that you test on sandbags, at least. It takes some of the variables out of the test, assuming that the accuracy of the barrel / pellet combo is what you are testing. The shootability of the gun will be better determined by shooting off hand, as you did, because all the problems created by poor sights, stiff, gritty, triggers and poor grips will impact the groupings when you shoot offhand. Also be aware that a pellet moving slowly through a long barrel is the hardest pair to shoot accurately. You have lots of time to wiggle the gun around after you pull the trigger and before the pellet comes out the end of that long barrel. First you need to know what pellet the barrel likes, though. This particular comparison was a tough one for you to take on offhand because of the power plant on these two guns. I own them both and the P17 is sort of hard to power/pump even though it's a single pump and the pumping of a multipump is almost always going to take a bit of time to calm down from, if you intend to shoot offhand. Those are some of the things I consider in my own tests and you can give them whatever weight you think they deserve when you test. I offer them only as what, I hope, will be accepted as helpful suggestions that will allow you to learn more about your guns and share that info out here. In this video, you may not be aware, but you actually pumped the 1377 6 times on the third shot and it was a wide right flyer that didn't hit a score ring on the target. Out of curiosity, what made you settle on 5 pumps for the 1377? (Remember what I said about a fast pellet in a long barrel being easier to shoot offhand?) I think I saw # 3 of the P17's shots go through the same hole and I don't think you counted it. (If I'm right, it was another 8) I don't recall you mentioning the distance that you were shooting at or what pellet you used and I always feel like that is critical info to have. And, finally, I feel that, until you find the most accurate pellet for your guns and then get all the guns zeroed in at the same distance with their best pellet, using the scoring rings really isn't a good measure of accuracy. (I'm sure that I can adjust your sights on one gun so that none of the pellets hit a scoring ring even though all holes are touching each other) Until that time, my recommendation would be to simply measure the widest shots, center to center, of each group and let that be the determiner of the most accurate. Again, just an opinion. Hope you stick with this and spread the word. It is a very fulfilling hobby that can be easily shared at family events and doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg to enjoy. Peace!
It’s just a silly fun backyard shoot with no science behind it. Something that 98% of the airgun owners would do with family or friends in their backyard. Thanks for watching.
Meisterkugeln 7.0gr, shot offhand from 10 meters out of the same air pistols, gave me similar results as this comparison. I am going to give it a go shooting them rested and see if the results change! Valid points you made.
Good video of 2 good budget pistols. The P17 is a target pistol and the 1377 is a target and vermin pistol as well (as its powerful at 8 pumps plus). It can drop rabbits, pigeons and I've known it to drop pheasants at 20 yards (in Italy and Croatia) at 12 pumps, using a hard pellet, eg a hardenned dome (as in the Terminator PCP .177 tin alloy penetrating pellet). The 1377 or 1389 are very handy as they fit easily in a backpack for small game hunting.
Thanks John for the comparison review. I was NOT surprised by these results at all. I have a couple of these pistols and have repeatedly shot insects off the porch in Albuquerque, NM. Plus, knocked out a ground squirrel infestation that were reeking havoc by chewing off wires in my vehicles. These pistols are accurate and fairly powerful for what they are.....and inexpensive!
Had both, loved both. . . But the 1377 is the better by far. With practice and 12 pumps, it can be shot using a quality .177 pellet to give 10" grouping at 70 yards, on a day with no wind. It shoots at near 600FPS! If the trigger is lubed or trigger spring (cut then stretched slightly ) adjusted for better trigger stroke and pressure, this is highly achievable. The P17 is a VERY accuracte 10 yard target pistol, with one of nicest triggers I've come across in a budget pistol. But it is single stroke at around 325FPS and the air pump cylinder O ring wears out every few thousand shots / needs replacing. The 1377 will last years and years without anything going wrong with it. So it is a MUCH better pistol.
Liked your video! I did the same type of comparison between those two pistols a few times and the winner is always the 1377. I believe the weight and balance of the 1377 has something to do with this. I am going to compare them in the future, shooting them off a rest to see if i still get the same results. Happy plinking!
Interesting, I've only tried a few air pistols but it's been the Crosman classic series that seemed best. I got hold of a 2240B Ratcatcher and that was joined by a 1377 and a 1322. Thanks
Bolth are great shooters but the 13XX is the one for messing with and can become a very Great gun if done right. And I do love my P17's. Use them at 5 yards shooting playing cards hitting the symbols on the cards
I’ve been going back and forth between these two and now I just found your video based on both! Now I still don’t know which one to get!!!!😂😂😂. I think I’ll get the crosman for now and the beeman later.
Nice head to head, two great pistols. I only had to change the cheap o rings once on my P17 after maybe 500 shots and the new ones should last much longer. 👍
I think the o rings that they come with are rubbish, I have two p17 one is 22 and other 177, I had to replace the smallest valve o ring on both guns within 250 shots. They were leaking upon cocking from the transfer port.
Nice thing about the Crosman 1377 is that you can add a stock to it. In my experience this makes it significantly more accurate, practically like a carbine or short rifle.
i bought the 1377 and i LOVE IT i dont really like co2 pistol bc its kinda expensive and they are annoying to change the co2 and not for hunting the 1377 is a beast i can say pumping the pistol takes some work but over all you will love it
I have P17 and I think is a nice gun, but I want to buy the Crosman 1377 4.5 mm, but in Brazil we don't have it yet, I hope one day this gun arrive here.
Nice shoot off. Yes p17 shot low compared to 1377 but the grouping was a close competition. The 2nd or 3rd shot on the 1377 was at 6 pumps instead of 5 (i believe the highest shot) or the grouping on the 1377 would have even been closer. 😊👍
@@Wingman115 yes I enjoy watching. I miss plinking so much. Its much harder now that I live in a apartment. If I remember correctly the 1377 is a beefy pistol with a long barrel which would help accuracy. Both are fun to shoot! I have a p1 I haven't shot yet. Id like to see a faceoff between 1377 vs 1322 (or whatever the 22 cal version is called).
Test jest nierzetelny, do testu porównania precyzji strzelania powinno się pistoletów o coś oprzeć podczas oddawania strzałów, a tak tyle samo lub więcej jest zależne od umiejętności strzelającego niż pistoletów.
I don’t give a Shyt, I am impressed if I can hit the beer can at 20 feet or 7 meters, I have both but P17 is only one pump,,same as Ruger or Buckmark or whatever name is,you just have to be steady when I get money I will buy shoulder stocks for all of my 13xx line and 2xxx…
i have a pellet trap and i used my Crosman CF7SXS Fire .177 Break Barrel Air Rifle i used it at pretty close range and it dented the crap out of it im looking to buy the black ops sniper s air rifle 177 i heard its really good
