See the progress of my cross stitch from my last video!
*Where I've said half stitch it is actually a quarter cross stitch, apologies got my terminology wrong!

Darling, two wonderful tricks for you. 1. The loop start method. No knots at all. This was a brilliant game changer for me. 2. I went to our local Dollar Store and bought a fabric steering wheel cover. It acts as a “grime guard” and just slips around your hoop. It will also accommodate a Q-Snap, up to 11”x11”. Your work is lovely! 💗

Ooh thank you so much for the advice!! I will definitely look into those, the technique sounds interesting I just always get nervous of the threads coming loose. The grime guard sounds like an amazing invention!! I'll have to look into getting one of those, doesn't matter how clean your hands are the fabric always picks up dirt along the way 🙄 Thank you for your kind words and the advice 😊✨

i love to use the loop method when i have an even number of threads but with an odd number, i lay the end down where i am about to be working and stitch over it so it traps the end

Wonderful, thank you :) It's looking good too! I wonder if anyone is cross-stitching rainbows, that would seem relevant at this time.

If you use a Loop start with your first stitch, you will not need any knots. Knots can lip through in time and can make the front bumpy. Also, your half stitches are really quarter stitches!

For parts of the pattern I used two strands of thread, for other parts I only needed to use one 😊✨

The half stitch you did looks like a 1/4 not a half stitch I thought a half stitch was a full / of an X

What is ASMR
@alimayasmr8749
@alimayasmr8749 4 года назад
Hi, this is a definition from google: Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), sometimes auto sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson. Some people experience it and others don't at all, I believe Sheffield University are doing research into why this is. Hope this helps 😊✨

Too much talking to be asmr. It’s supposed to be the sound of the needle and thread going through the fabric. This is a tutorial.
@alimayasmr8749

Actually ASMR is different for everyone, my audience prefers my work because of the fact that I talk softly and ramble a lot, some people don't like this and that is ok, it does not mean that it isn't ASMR. Tutorials also make for amazing ASMR videos (they're one of my favourite types of video to watch). ASMR is an art form and can be interpreted in many ways, different people find different triggers effective. ASMR is not strictly the specific sounds, it's the interaction and the sense of not being alone. In this video viewers seem to really like the talking, the visual of doing the cross stitch but also the sounds of the fabric and the paper and the marking off. I appreciate that maybe you're not keen on the talking but that's your personal preference, it does not make it wrong, as I said, it is an art form which makes it subjective 😊✨

This is not ASMR because you are speaking
@alimayasmr8749

Actually there are various ways of triggering ASMR. I for one like to listen to people talking, this video was a request so I'm guessing I'm not the only one.
