Second Video is now out where we try to make it to Missoula:
• Bikepacking -Tekoa to ...
Finally finished the full Cross Washington Mountain Bike Route (XWA) video and hope you all enjoy it.
Total mileage from La Push to Tekoa was 730 miles and it took us 12 days if you consider the first and last days were half days. We had an awesome time and totally recommend this route. Just be ready for steep climbing and singletrack, so pack light and have fun!
If you all are interested in the actual route we rode you can check it out here:

Just remember when doing the XWA, download the latest route from Troy (link below) and do not use our route as it's just for information purposes only.
Thanks again to Troy for developing this amazing route!

Hey Ryan! Thanks, really means a lot coming from you. We love your videos and all you do for the cycling community. You inspire so many people to get out there and see this beautiful world we live in. The XWA is an awesome adventure and can't wait to see you ride it. Happy Trails!

Hey duzer! An idea for this route it to either 1. Instead of ending in tekoa, end in Spokane which is at the end of the Columbia plateau trail. Big city with an airport. 2. Keep going to plummer and enjoy one of America longest paved bike paths all the way to mullan idaho. (Maybe bring a friend for this ride). From there is a gravel rail trail. All the way to Missoula Montana. In-between is an awesome rail trail called the route of Hiawatha that goes over high trestles and is epic! Cheers

Thank you, that was very informative. I have a couple questions. If flying into Seattle can you simply bike to the trail and head east, if you don’t need to start at the beginning? The car rental and multiple bus route to Port Angles looked like a pain. Second, how far are resupplies apart generally? It looked like most were a day or so? Third, can you ride the route on a Salsa Cutthroat or do you need a hard tail? Finally, thank you for showing the route all the way to Missoula. That was awesome.
@PedalPowerAdventures
@PedalPowerAdventures Год назад
Thanks . I would think that you would be able to just ride from the airport and make your way to the route, however, not exactly sure since we are not completely familiar with the area. That being said, the car rental and buses were surprisingly easy, more so than we anticipated. There is also a bus that goes straight from the airport to Port Angeles but the timing of when our plane arrived and when the bus left and got to Port Angeles did not work out well for us since we had time constraints. We felt like the Olympic peninsula section was probably one of the best ones along the route and would be a shame to miss out on it with bypassing it and picking up the route in Seattle. But that's our opinion. Supply points were pretty good with most being only a day or so. The longest was maybe on the high route since the store by Mineral springs campground was closed/had reduced hours and days open due to it being at the end of "season.". I would think a cut throat would work on this route as well. Hope you get to experience this route as it is a great one. Happy trails!
@BretSchnitzer
@BretSchnitzer Год назад
@@PedalPowerAdventures thank you for the valuable information. The trail looked fantastic. I think we would take the low road though. That high road looked pretty challenging. Thank you. Well done!

@PedalPowerAdventures Год назад
We were debating on the BC Trail or XWA just like you are and will defiantly be doing the BC Trail sometime in the future. Let us know which one you decide and how it goes, don’t think you can go wrong with either route. We are so lucky to have all of these choices with bikepacking routes!

@@PedalPowerAdventures the only downside with the BC trail from Vancouver to Banff that I have learned of so far in my research is that the KVR was destroyed by flooding in 2021 from Hope to Princeton BC.
